Continental ProContact GX 

It seems that all the drivers who rate this tire poorly have the same thing in common - they all drive Subaru Outbacks. The two drivers who drive something else, both rate the tires 4.5. Is it possible the tires aren't compatible with Subaru Outbacks or does Subaru "spec" the tire (the Walmart syndrome) for their vehicles and their tires may be inferior to "off the shelf" tires?

I have only 3000 miles on my new XE (which explains why I can't rate the tires in snow, but I do live on a mountain in TN so I will provide an update this winter - and from current experience I expect they will do well in snow) but so far the tires have been excellent! They are quiet, track extremely well on dry roads and wet (monsoon rain storm), and stick in hard cornering on a variety of surfaces. I am curious as to the mileage I will see due to my driving style but so far, I would highly recommend the tires to anyone considering a purchase.

I got 49,000 miles from these tires and they never spurred me to think that they were bad in any particular way. I was never nervous in wet or snow and the noise was noticeable and to us, acceptable. I did hit a nail and had the tire patched, and put a few thousand more miles on them without issue. More treadlife would have been nice, but getting almost 50,000 out of an OEM tire doesn't offend me. Not like the Kumhos that I had to replace on my wife's VW after 25,000 miles.

Replaced these with Goodyear Assurance Weatherready's and they are quieter than the Contis.

I've been pretty happy with these tires. It's a little hard to compare since these are the only tires I've had on this car but I thought they were pretty quiet. I felt quite confident driving with these. They held the road well but have noticed a decrease in wet road performance in the last 10,000 miles as the tread got low. I also felt they did pretty well in snow. I'm at 50,000 miles now and they are down to the wear bars.

About to buy my third set of these. Each set has lasted over 50k. I drive in SF which has terrible city road and highway. I take my rogue to Tahoe summer and winter. Made it through snowmageddon Just fine with these tires. I can't compare as I have bought any different ones. Been very happy. I rotator and balance per the schedule about 7500 miles.

These are the OE tires on my Outback, and I already know I will replace them with the same model when it's time. I've had a Subaru before, and several 4WD trucks, but have never had a vehicle track like this one does in the snow. It's like having a 28 MPG tank at my command. We've had a lot of snow in the past couple of weeks and I am astounded at how this vehicle and tire combination shrugs it off. I am not an overly aggressive driver, but I can safely move faster in snow-covered lanes than other vehicles do on the mostly clear ones. I'm (almost) looking forward to more snow so I can these boys out there again, this time looking for especially difficult driving to see how they do. I am also surprised how well this vehicle rides over rutted unpaved roads and potholes, but I'm not sure whether I should credit the tires or the Subaru suspension. I suppose it doesn't matter. The combination makes for the best riding vehicle I've ever had when it comes to really crappy roads.

This was the stock tire on my Outback and I've driven it through 3 Buffalo winters without any problem in the snow and ice. Now living in Texas, the tires do great on the various smooth or rough country roads, great traction and ride. On a trip to CO through the high peaks and down through Utah to Moab and back, these tires were great on my Subaru for our off road camping and hiking trip. I'm about to get my second set because the tread is getting thin but it's still there! Here's to the next 60+K!

Stock Tire, silent, good tread wear, stable in light snow and ice. My wife drove this during Feb 2014 winter storm in Virginia and she said it wobbled a little bit when she's driving downhill but corrected with gentle braking. Will definitely buy 4 same stock tire from Continental when it's time to replace the tires.

I bought these Slovakian made tires based on Consumer Reports suggestion and testing. They ride smoothly and quietly, just as Consumer Reports testing showed. I am pleased so far... as I ride down the road listening to others car tires that are just too loud. Brushing curbs happens to novice drivers and will damage any tire so stop bumping curbs...and comparing car tires against jeep tires. I paid $120 each and had to special-order them.

I can't say I ever noticed anything particularly bad about these tires in terms of handling considering they're all season, but the treadwear is absolutely terrible. These are what came on my 2016 Forester and I didn't really think much of it before so I just replaced them with the same tires when they were low tread last time at about 26k miles, but they need replaced again at about 22k miles and I'm tired of it. There's no reason I should have 3 different sets of tires before 50k miles. It's not remotely worth the price to me. I wouldn't recommend these tires to anyone and I can't wait to replace them with something else that will actually last.

These tires were original equipment on my 2021 Audi A4. Best feature is a quiet ride. Not really thrilled with the tread life as I am replacing the front tires at 44k miles. The rears will likely need to be replaces in another 5-7k miles. In my opinion, that's an ok service life but nothing special for a car that is driven about 90% highway miles. I didn't own the car for the first 13k miles, so that could be a contributing factor. There wasn't any other tire brand/model I was dying to try on the car, so I just replaced them with the same tire since these did an ok job. We'll see how this pair does for tread life. I hope they get closer to 60k miles so they at least get us to the point we'll likely be selling the car.

OEM tire that does the job, but wears fast and is not brilliant in any respect. My main complain is cornering, where sidewall flex makes tight turns not fun. OK, I do drive an Outback, which is not exactly a sports car, but compared to other similar SUV's with different tires, this could be improved dramatically. If you drive very sedate, they will do the job. If you're spirited, find something else. The car begs for better tires. Mine needed replacing after 30k miles. Would purchase Conti's again, but not the GX.
