The Discoverer EnduraMax is Cooper's Crossover/SUV Touring All-Season tire designed for the drivers of crossovers, SUVs and pickup trucks looking for a tire that combines the ride comfort and light handling of a touring tire with the enhanced durability provided by integrating all-terrain tire technology. The Discoverer EnduraMax is an all-weather tire developed to deliver confident all-season performance year-round, with light snow traction that meets industry severe snow service requirements and receives the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.

Cooper's Durable-Tread Technology helps the Discoverer EnduraMax resist abrasion and wear from rough conditions, and is cut- and chip-resistant for impressive endurance on gravel roads. The symmetric pattern is designed to minimize tread noise for a quiet experience. Four wide, circumferential grooves work with lateral notches to help evacuate water from the contact patch for enhanced hydroplaning resistance, while sipes and edges of the independent tread blocks deliver traction in wet conditions. Winter Grip Technology utilizes sawtooth grooves for grip in snow, while zigzag sipes in the shoulders provide traction on slick surfaces.

The internal construction of the Discoverer EnduraMax is designed to retain its shape over rough and uneven surfaces for even pressure and constant contact with the road. Armor Belt Technology features extra strength, light truck steel belts to provide enhanced strength, and a nylon reinforcement delivers high-speed capability and durability.

Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol may provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol may deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.

...Encountered pouring rain at 80 mph on interstate. Absolutely no hint of slipping or hydroplaning...

I drove from WI to WY and back. Encountered pouring rain at 80 mph on interstate. Absolutely no hint of slipping or hydroplaning. These tires respond to the slightest steering input with 35 psi. I now have to be more careful not to weave. In 8000 miles I can barely measure any tread wear on the rear tires, none on the front and yet they have excellent traction.

...When it comes to the rain these tires have no issue going through puddles of water, and are great at dispersing water to avoiding hydroplaning...

The tread on this tire is great, durable, and good in all weather. I have driven my vehicle through almost a foot of snow in an unplowed parking lot in the middle of winter during a white out, leaving work, and it handled great. I was able to stop when needed, and stearing was great as well. When it comes to the rain these tires have no issue going through puddles of water, and are great at dispersing water to avoiding hydroplaning. I will definitely be buying these tires again.

...They have performed great in adverse conditions and provide great traction on snowy backroads...

Have only used had the tires a few weeks, but they have seen rain and snow on both city roads and the highway. They have performed great in adverse conditions and provide great traction on snowy backroads. They are also smooth and decently quiet in the highway. Previous tires were in a bad way, so the upgrade to these has been very noticeable. Have the same Coopers on another vehicle and have had the same positive experience there too.

I only have 1000 miles on the tires but at the moment I am very satisfied. I moved off BFG tires because of puncture failures. The ride feels improved. I caught the end of the 2024 Thanksgiving snowageddon in NW PA. The tire performed amazing in the snow. I had an 80 foot driveway that was full of 2.5 feet of snow. I was able to punch through and put the car in the garage when we got home. Can't wait to see how this tires wear.

...Good traction and braking in the snow...

I’ve put about 18,000 miles on these tires in various weather conditions (rain, snow etc.). It has performed excellent. Fairly quiet on the highway. Good traction and braking in the snow. I’m considering buying a new set in about 6 months. My only complaint is how long the tread lasts. I didn’t expect this much wear in 2 years (6/32 tread left). Overall, the only upgrade I’m looking at is the Michelin Crossclimate2 but for the price and performance, im highly considering buying another set of these.

...48K miles and have 6/32" tread left after 2¾ years on the vehicle...

Perfect tire for my '19 Trax FWD. 48K miles and have 6/32" tread left after 2¾ years on the vehicle. NW Ohio winters and have only left the Trax for my Z71 4x4 twice when snow exceeded 6" going to/from work, a 40 mile drive. Handles well in round about traffic circles, one on the way home, I take one at 2x the recommended speed of 15 MPH. The only time my fuel MPG drops below the 31 Highway rating is on snow covered roads. Normally I get 38-42 MPG. Hopefully these tires will be available next fall when they'll probably need replacing.

...They were still legal after 75000 miles but naturally we're getting a little hard and not channeling water as well...

These are my initial impressions of the Cooper Enduramax tires for my wife's Crosstrek. I choose tires for family safety here in New England that have excellent wet and light snow performance ratings. If the price of the original Yokohama Geolander tires that came on the car weren't so expensive, I would have bought another set. They were still legal after 75000 miles but naturally we're getting a little hard and not channeling water as well. Many tires in this size have higher load ratings for heavier SUVs but I didn't want to compromise ride quality. So, what do I think? The straight through grooves are wider than I expected from the photos, so they tend to pick up and hold a few half inch or less pebbles. The upside is hydroplaning on a wash or large shallow puddle is non-existent. They are very quiet and handle pavement transitions on bridges comfortably. Tread squirm was a little disconcerting during break in but directional stability is good now. Only had one light snow storm so far and they handled it competently. Very few tire weights were needed to balance them but I now have detected a vibration at about 70 mph after about 1500 miles. Never had that with the Yokohamas. Overall a very good value. I'm 70 years old, and own a small collection of sportscars, racecars, and a few motorcycles. Trust these for your daily driver. Probably update my review in a year or so to let you know how they progress.
