Falken Azenis RT615K+The Azenis RT615K+ is a further evolution of Falken Tire's championship-winning Extreme Performance Summer tire, the Azenis RT615K. Developed for drivers of muscle cars, sports cars, street rods and performance sedans who want ultimate grip in warm, dry and wet conditions, the Azenis RT615K+ is not intended to be serviced, stored nor driven in near- or below-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

Utilizing the proven internal construction and motorsports-inspired asymmetric tread pattern as its predecessor, the Azenis RT615K+ features Falken's latest Extreme Summer Performance-targeted compound. The updated compound is designed to further satisfy the increased performance expectations of competitive drivers through additional dry grip. The Massive Sport Side Shoulder Blocks deliver extreme levels of lateral traction through turns, and the solid center rib effectively puts the power to the ground by providing constant contact with the road. Inboard circumferential grooves and notched tread blocks help evacuate water from the contact patch, improving wet traction and hydroplaning resistance.

Internal construction of the Azenis RT615K+ includes a high-tension casing to help increase handling response and high-speed stability. Twin, high-tensile steel belts are reinforced by a spirally-wrapped nylon Joint-less Cap Ply to promote even wear and durability.

Extreme Performance Summer tires exposed to temperatures of 20 degrees F (-7 degrees C) or lower must be permitted to gradually return to temperatures of at least 40 degrees F (5 degrees C) for at least 24 hours before they are flexed in any manner, such as by adjusting inflation pressures, mounting them on wheels, or using them to support, roll or drive a vehicle.

Note: Flexing of the specialized rubber compounds used in Extreme Performance Summer tires during cold-weather use can result in irreversible compound cracking. While compound cracking is not a warrantable condition because it occurs as the result of improper use or storage, tires exhibiting compound cracking must be replaced.

Customers Say

Track day reports highlight the Falken Azenis RT615K+ as a strong contender for dry performance, with consistent praise for sharp turn-in, predictable grip, and stable cornering during autocross and HPDE events. Users note they warm up quickly and handle heat well, though ultimate grip trails newer 200TW competitors. Wet traction earns mixed feedback-manageable in light rain but prone to hydroplaning in standing water, especially as tread wears. Treadwear is typical for the category, with endurance racers logging multiple events and daily drivers seeing 7k-12k miles. While not the longest-lasting, their balance of affordability and track-ready durability makes them a favorite for budget-conscious enthusiasts.

184 customers mention "Wet Traction"

  • 138 positive
  • 46 negative

Customers report mixed experiences with wet traction, with scores typically 7-8. Many praise predictable handling in light rain and stable response when new, noting they warm quickly for reliable grip. However, several highlight hydroplaning risks in standing water and reduced confidence as tread wears, particularly in heavy downpours. While manageable with cautious driving, wet performance is noted to drop sharply below 50% tread depth.

Perfect for what I wanted. Too good to find the limits safely on the street. Lasted as expected and had surprisingly good traction in the rain until almost no sipes left. Can't beat for the price and enjoyment.

...hookup and I had some great runs where they simply outran the other guys tyres. On the track, the cornering was predictive and even when I overcooked the entry, I was always able to manage these tyres into a good recovery. In straight-line events, a really good and strong launch didn't phase them- hooking up nicely every time (no tire is subject to exact traction if you apply too much horsepower but these were the best yet at taking a big load).

First time with the set- trying to gain a better track edge from the Invo's and other brands I've had on the car.
Excellent traction on the dry surface and better than I expected on wet and raining surfaces- I don't push it when the weather isn't dry but these were reasonable up to 120 kph, and stayed stable and predictable. On dry surfaces, these puppies really hookup and I had some great runs where they simply outran the other guys tyres.

The wear on any tyre south of 300 or more is not for the guy who wants 30000 miles out of a set- these at least lasted as long as my Invo's. Be prepared for new set every summer to be on the safe side. They were quiet and ran smoothly for 'around the town' driving and I'm really pleased with this stat!
So, they ride well, handle well and deliver a nice punch in the performance area- best I've experienced to date.
I would recommend them for the street-track guy who enjoys pushing the envelop.

I've only driven 100 miles so far on these tires. I barely broke-in the tires, then took it out for an autocross the same day.

On the autocross, these tires were absolutely phenomenal. After one run, the tires heated up to proper operating temperature. I was able to rotate the car with the throttle and brake with extreme precision. These are things I was never able to accomplish with the old all-season tires I had on before. Steering feel was improved, with good information coming through the wheel, but it could have been better. The highlight of these tires was how EASY it was to take it around the autocross course at a blistering pace. My Miata suddenly felt like an extension of myself during the second run (and thereafter).

Noise and ride quality have been surprisingly good so far. I was expecting more noise and harshness, but they seem to be on par with my old Hankook S1 Noble A/S tires so far. Perhaps I'll report back in 1000 miles.

Update 5/22/2017:
I now have 240 miles on these tires. I've attended two more autocrosses and done some freeway commuting.
I've discovered a single downside: Gas mileage is noticeably decreased with these tires. I'm getting about 25 MPG (as opposed to about 29-30) during freeway slogs, which was rather surprising. Perhaps its due to the soft rubber compound.

I just participated in a wet autocross on 5/21. The tires were, again, immediately sticky and very forgiving. The degree of controllability when approaching the limits of the car is astonishing. Even in the wet, the tires got warm and grippy very quickly. Would recommend, 10/10.

...Comes up to temp quickly and grips hard... A slight slickness when hot and overdriven, but easily manageable due to predictability. Holds the line well...

This is a fantastic tire for track use. I have driven them on the street on a Miata as well and they are fantastic there as well. Very predictable. Comes up to temp quickly and grips hard. We ran at around 28psi cold, bringing us to around 31-32 hot. Braking is phenomenal combined with wilwood brakes. A slight slickness when hot and overdriven, but easily manageable due to predictability. Holds the line well. If you don't like theses tires with only 20 miles driven, then you really don't know what you are you doing or how to drive (i'm looking at you 2012 Porsche Caymen S reviewer).

  • 152 positive
  • 68 negative

Customers highlight the RT615K+'s durability through multiple track events and heat cycles, with scores 7-8. While aggressive use or high-torque setups lead to quicker wear, many find tread life acceptable for an extreme performance tire, balancing grip and longevity when rotated and managed on track.

...They have two seasons on them with heavy autox abuse and still have a ton of life left while being in the hot South Texas heat...

I have a set of 225/45R17 Falken Azenis RT615K+’s on my 08 Civic Si Sedan and they are fantastic. I drive to and from the autocross track on the Falkens and run my laps in the same tires. They have two seasons on them with heavy autox abuse and still have a ton of life left while being in the hot South Texas heat. The tires have mostly track time on them as I don’t daily them too much but are fantastic as just a good street tire with low noise with the ability to be an impressive track tire. Highly recommend
