...Handles heavy rain and snowy roads confidently...

Seem to handle well, stable in corners and quick starts and stops. Not a ton of miles on them yet, but seem to be wearing well. Handles heavy rain and snowy roads confidently.

My main problem is one a few others have noted -- these tires are NOT good on road surfaces that are grooved in the direction of travel! Along a stretch of highway where there are grooves cut going WITH the road direction (not across the lanes), these tires caused the vehicle to become pretty active -- these lines made the vehicle really shift & wander, requiring constant attention and a steady hand on the wheel. Fortunately, we have only small stretches of this kind of road where I drive -- because if you had to drive very far on that kind of surface you would become both exhausted and seasick pretty quickly. Honestly thought, the day I drove home after having them installed, that the mechanic had neglected to tighten the lug nuts -- but, checking them showed they were tight, and as soon as I hit a smooth patch of road again everything was fine. Thought it might get better as the tires got broken in, but has not improved a bit.

Not sure whether this is due to weak sidewalls (doesn't really seem to be the case), or a thread so aggressive it's too active in following the grooves -- but if I had to drive this kind of road surface regularly, I would be replacing these tires ASAP.

My truck drives much smoother and quieter with these tires. The most impressive thing was wet performance. I drove through a heavy thunderstorm last week and I had full traction and no hint of hydroplaning even in deeper puddles. I was very impressed. I haven’t had them very long so no comments on wear but even my wife is impressed how good the truck drives now.

I put two of these on the front of my van just before leaving for a trip out west, CO, AZ, UT, NM, on a ski trip for a few months. I was glad I had new tires many times as I drove up and down mountains, wet, dry, and snow covered. I am going to buy two more right before this years trip. They cost me a little more than I usually pay but worth every cent.

These are a great reliable set of tires. Traction has been great! I have a heavy suv and I travel a mix of highways, city roads, and country roads. They grip the road perfectly and I even saw my MPG increase slightly from my previous set. Would definitely recommend these tires.

...The dry traction is respectable but road noise is prevalent more than most tires...

Standard tire that came with my new Tacoma, and after 24 months and over 27,500 miles of mostly highway and city driving with maybe 400 miles of gravel/off road (nothing major off-road) driving, these tires are not good with any inclement weather. Backing up especially up a hilly driveway with any gravel, it slides. Taking off during wet weather...spins. The dry traction is respectable but road noise is prevalent more than most tires.

Tread life is terrible and over half the tread is gone with minimal cornering as I don't cut corners or run up on curbs. Sidewall seems fine and no bubbling, but switching to BF Trail-Terrain T/A . I do remember how terrible the tires were in the second month of ownership (less than 1500 miles at that time) during a moderate snow storm on the interstate in Washington state with barely an inch on the road, it constantly wanted to slide.

...On dry street and highway they are very comfortable with good handling, braking and acceleration...

Very happy with these tires. On dry street and highway they are very comfortable with good handling, braking and acceleration. They handle potholes and ruts pretty smoothly. If that wasn’t enough we had about 2 ft of very heavy snow with several inches of slush under and they cut right through it all. Both when there was just a few inches to the full depth. Thought the slush would be an issue but they stayed true and wouldn’t get pulled into the deeper, denser stuff. Very happy with that.

...They're better than the Le2s. Super quiet and very smooth ride and comfortable. No complaints at all.

So I drive a 2004 Chevy Tahoe rwd and I had the fire destination Le2s for the last 5 years. They came with the vehicle when I purchased it used from a private owner on OfferUp. I absolutely love them and they drew super smooth and quiet and The treadwire was pretty good and lasted. I changed the shocks and springs on my vehicle so I thought to myself to get new tires to have the optimal ride experience. I was trying to get The same tires I had but I researched and saw that they were discontinued and now they had the Le3s. Anyways tires Plus was out of them so I gave the Alenzas ultra AS a try and they were absolutely terrible. The tires were too heavy and bulky and noisy and the vehicle felt sluggish with. Steering response was slow and absolutely nothing good about the tire. So I told them to order the Le3s. I had them put on a week ago and I absolutely love them. They're just as good if not better than the Le2s. Super quite a very smooth ride and comfortable. No complaints at all. A huge plus too is cosmetically they look amazing with the white wall writing in my opinion. They go great with my black tahoe. Man I love these tires and they're probably the best on the market if you're driving in places like Florida in wet dry climates with no hills and just on road city highway driving. I rate them 10 out of 10! Highly recommend for sure! Thanks Firestone for making such an amazing tire and one of the best on the market! 👍

...After 18k miles of driving it like a police car, while maintaining proper alignment, air pressure, and rotation every 5k miles, there is no real visible wear...

I have run Firestone Destination LE and AT tires on a few pickups and SUVs over the past 15 years or more. I keep coming back to them for the same reasons, performance, durability, long life, and value. I have never had a bad one. They go in snow and ice great and can easily handle mild farm mud like dirt roads and barn lots. These LE tires have done great in ice and 6-8 inches of snow, both packed and loose. I can drive it hard and fast in heavy rain and even standing water with no grip or hydroplaning issues. I drive on curves and hills in SE KY and it handles spirited driving well with zero traction issues. Steep hills in snow is no issue in my 4wd explorer. After 18k miles of driving it like a police car, while maintaining proper alignment, air pressure, and rotation every 5k miles, there is no real visible wear. Cruising around 100 plus is no issue as are quick lane changes. I will buy again.
