Goodyear  Eagle Exhilarate

Review is for Goodyear Eagle Exhilarate tires.

These are most definitely the best A/S tires I've ever owned. For this awd vehicle I run Nokian studded Hakkas for the winter, so that means I have the opportunity to run summer-only high performance tires on my aftermarket BBS oversized wheels during the summer, which is what I would prefer to do, and it's what I run on my BMW Z3. But... this is our family 'do everything' car, so I felt I had to run all seasons. Telling you this background to clarify that I am then extremely picky about getting all seasons that can make some bit of headway in performing at least a little bit like a summer high performance tire, and, I'm very experienced with what a high performance summer tire can do. Normally this is an all out impossible goal to hope that an A/S can corner well. But I have to say, these Eagle tires actually perform fantastically well on the performance end of things. They definitely blow away all of the A/S tires I've ever tried for cornering and lively-quick steering response. And bonus, the tire sidewall and shoulder look the closest to a performance tire of any A/S tire. They have a great looking low profile track-tire-ish shoulder, and not a lot of 'busy' graphics on the sidewall.

And just to say, yes.. the wet traction is also fantastic. So you get the best there is there too.

And, I'm extremely demanding when it comes to low noise and good ride comfort. These tires kill it in that category too. Wow.

Goodyear did a great job. Highly recommend these tires. I'd call it a, "You can stop looking now. You found it" level of tire.

They’re good tires just not great tires. But if you want to put 315s on your challenger there the way to go if it a daily driver. Did a couple trips cross country there great on the dry but a little loose in the rain.

For my 2011 BMW 535i Sport, here in Minneapolis MN, this set of Goodyear Eagle Exhilarate is quieter and has better ice/snow/wet traction than my previous set of Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+. I'd consider them Grand Touring vs Ultra High Performance. Would definitely consider buying them again.

I have ben really impressed with these tires so far. I live in Michigan, and I drive about 90 miles a day to/from work on combined city and highway. I also am a very spirited driver, and allegedly have ran them at speeds > 100mph. I decided on these to avoid having to have a set of both winter and summer tires for my daily driver.

Amazing summer dry performance for a All-Season tire. The tires are surprisingly (& awesomely) sticky once warmed up and will pick up any little bit of gravel or road debris and flick it up into your wheel well. Driving through my neighborhoods paved street going ~25mph, I was surprised when it sounded like I was driving my truck or jeep down a dirt road.

Wet performance is also great. Good hydroplaning resistance even at highway speeds, and can still take tight corners. Between my cars AWD system and these tires, rain & wet conditions have almost become no factor whatsoever.

Winter performance - I probably have the least experience so far. This is my first winter since purchasing them over the summer. We just got hit with our first real snow storm of the season. It started as rain, then changed to about 6-8" snow. This created a slushy ice mix with a nice snow layer on top. The tires seemed to maintain control fairly well on the icy portions, and I had no issues snow plowing my front end through the deep snow sections on side streets. So far, for not being a true "winter snow tire" I will give them a solid 7.5/10.

Just about to take it in for the first rotation, I will come back and update this later on about treadwear. So far I have not noticed any uneven or fast wearing that some others have mentioned.

Overall a very solid tire from Goodyear. Great cornering stability, quick off of the line without any slippage, and a decent tire in the snow. Noise level is very low and tire should be able to get at least 40,000 miles (which I have found to be good for a low profile tire). Overall I would definitely recommend these, especially as a replacement on the OEM Bridgestone EL400 tires. After about 1,000 miles of feeling like I had no control over the vehicle I switched the Bridgestone's out for these Goodyear tires and have a completely new driving experience.

I replaced BFG Comp A/S 2 Plus' with these Goodyears. The Comps were very good all around tires. But the Comps were noisy. The Goodyears are extremely quiet & smooth. They have a perfect ride quality for a sport sedan. Not too stiff, but connected to the road. And the steering response is very appropriate. Not too fast, not too slow. The tread pattern looks a little boring, but it works. If it aint broke, dont fix it. Im extremely happy with these Exhilarates.

I replaced run flats with these tires. The ride vastly improved, handling improved....

I have run autocross with this tire in the wet and cold and it does very well, good steering response and grip. Also a very comfortable and quiet ride on the street.

This review will be a comparison to my previous tires: Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+. Overall, this is a VERY good UHP all season tire and exceeded my expectations. The "heavier" steering wheel feel as compared to the Michelins is what stood out for me the most and as why i favor these over the Michelins. The Michelins may have a hair advantage on cornering and turn-in but with that comes a lighter steering wheel feel. The Goodyears give me more predictability and because of the "heavier' steering wheel , more confidence . There is no delay or steering wheel dead-spot(like Conti Extreme Contact DWS06) when turning or cornering. They have very good dry grip for a UHP, but the Michelins are slightly stickier. Spirited backroads driving, the traction control kicks in a shade more with the Goodyears but no deal breaker. The area where I thought the Goodyears would beat out the Michelins but it did not is wet traction. They have similar wet traction acceleration and cornering stick, but Michelins handle standing water(hydroplaning)better. The Goodyears get a little light feeling in puddles.

The Goodyears are the clear winner in the ride comfort category. They are quieter(both tread growl and white noise) than the Michelins. Ride quality is a huge improvement. Much more refined than the Michelins as they take bumps and road imperfections NOTICEABLY better with no sacrifice to performance or a soft side wall feel. These tires have very close performance and feel to the discontinued Bridgestone Potenzas 970 A/S which I rate as still best overall I've have for my car. The Goodyears are a definite buy again!

Great traction in wet and dry. Great treadwear so far.

I have been happy with these tires ,
The rears were just replaced a few weeks ago , because I wore the tread off after two years and over 50,000 miles . The front tires are only a year old . And I’m an aggressive driver . They have had some track time as well and have preformed as they should.
They wear evenly, and balance easily.
