Born on the track, the Eagle F1 Supercar 3R is Goodyear's Streetable Track & Competition tire originally developed for the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE and designed to deliver world-class handling, motorsports levels of traction and consistently fast laps. Like all summer tires, the Eagle F1 Supercar 3R is not intended to be serviced, stored, nor driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

Utilizing polymers and resins previously only used in racing slicks, the tread compound of the Eagle F1 Supercar 3R was selected from multiple iterations after extensive on-track evaluation. The asymmetric tread pattern and geometry were optimized through computer modeling before track testing determined the final design, which has a massive, low-void outboard shoulder to provide extreme levels of lateral grip. The rigid, notched center ribs offer responsive, precise steering and longitudinal grip, and the lateral notches and circumferential grooves aid wet traction.

The internal construction of the Eagle F1 Supercar 3R is designed to be lightweight to enhance steering and handling precision. The two-ply, rayon casing utilizes a high turn up to improve handling response, resulting in a three-ply sidewall. The two wide, steel belts are reinforced by a single, polyamide reinforcement ply.

Warning: Eagle F1 Supercar 3R radials meet DOT requirements, however, they are not recommended for driving in wet conditions where standing water is present and there is the risk of hydroplaning; drivers should drive cautiously at reduced speeds if they encounter these conditions. This is especially true of shaved or worn tires.

Note: Tires exposed to temperatures of 20 degrees F (-7 degrees C) or lower must be permitted to gradually return to temperatures of at least 40 degrees F (5 degrees C) for at least 24 hours before they are flexed in any manner, such as by adjusting inflation pressures, mounting them on wheels, or using them to support, roll or drive a vehicle.

Flexing of the specialized rubber compounds used in Streetable Track & Competition tires during cold-weather use can result in irreversible compound cracking. Compound cracking occurs as the result of improper use or storage, and Goodyear's warranty specifically excludes tires exhibiting this condition from coverage. Any tires exhibiting compound cracking must be replaced.

Customers Say

Reviews indicate the Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3R delivers outstanding dry traction, with enthusiasts praising its exceptional grip, consistent lap times, and predictable handling during track days and HPDE events. Wet performance is a significant concern, as users report dangerous hydroplaning and severely reduced grip even in light rain, emphasizing they should only be used in dry conditions. Treadwear is typical for the category, with most users reporting 2-5 track days before cording, though some note accelerated wear under heavy use. While not suited for street driving or cold weather, the tire excels as a dedicated track option when used within its intended parameters.

  • 111 positive
  • 2 negative

Customers praise the Eagle F1 Supercar 3R's outstanding dry traction, with most scoring 9s-10s for track use. Reviews highlight exceptional grip, predictable cornering, and consistent lap-after-lap performance, often improving lap times. Many note they require proper warm-up and wear quickly (2-5 track days), but consider this expected for a dedicated track tire. Scores 7-8 mention initial cold slickness but emphasize stellar dry performance once heated.

...This tire is comparable or better to the NT01, but this tire is much more streetable...

I run a 275/35/18 square set-up on the racetrack. I have previously run Toyo RA1, R888, Nitto Nt-01, and Pilot Cup's. This tire is the best Tire I have ever experienced. Grip is comparable or better to the NT01, but this tire is much more streetable. I have run them in long sessions 45+ minutes and they had as much grip at the end as they did in the beginning. Every lap was within .20 seconds on a 1.40 average lap. I cannot wait till they bring out more sizes and more people get to experience this tire. Great Job Goodyear!

World class level dry grip, steering and braking response once warmed up.
These are NOT all season tires these are track tires, they can be driven in the rain but you'll have too be very careful.
I'd place these right there with Michelin's Cup tires in EVERY performance category.

So I have about 6K miles on these tires with 5 full track days and also driving on the street and they are ready to be replaced. All I have to say is 'WOW!'. Although these do not last as long as the Cup 2s, they are definitely better in the dry and they are considerably less expensive. On track I was able to get almost a good second improvement on lap time. On the street they work well and do not wander as much as the Cup 2. Sound is louder but this is to be expected. I will definitely be buying another set.

47 customers mention "Wet Traction"

  • 4 positive
  • 43 negative

Customers consistently rate wet traction as poor (scores 4-6), noting hydroplaning risks and unpredictable grip even in light rain. While a few managed cautious wet driving when new, most advise avoiding rain entirely, as performance degrades rapidly after track use. Expected trade-off for a dedicated track tire prioritizing dry performance.

...In wet conditions, it's quite bad - so don't use it in the wet!...

This is a track tire and it does what it's supposed to do very well. In dry conditions, it's the best tire I've used. In wet conditions, it's quite bad - so don't use it in the wet! They do wear quickly but I typically get about 4 track days on them before the cords show. Great tire for what it's designed to do.

...I would NOT recommend driving in the rain. I've driven in the San Francisco fog and been worried. I've been sideways with no warning when it's below 60...

I'm on my second set of 3R tires. The GY SC 3Rs are superior to any other tire on the track when mounted on the Camaro. Good Year designed the 3Rs for the 1LE so naturally these tires track well. These tires do not ride well on the street. They're hard, bumpy and loud. I would NOT recommend driving in the rain. I've driven to the track in the San Francisco fog and been worried. I've been sideways with no warning when it's below 60. Driving a car with these tires below 40 would be a death trap!

If you're looking to street your ZL1 1LE I suggest the Michelin pilot 4s. I have them on my street wheels and they are much more street friendly. You will give up seconds on the track compared to the 3Rs though.

  • 53 negative

Customers highlight the Eagle F1 Supercar 3R's track durability, with many reporting 3-5 track days before cording, though heavy use or aggressive setups accelerate wear. While some note replacements after 100 laps, most accept the trade-off for consistent grip through heat cycles, praising predictable performance despite expected short lifespan in competition contexts.

...The tire was formulated for my big portly ZL1 and it does wear VERY fast on track, regardless of how much camber you dial into the suspension.

This has been my primary track tire setup for my ZL1 on Circuit of the Americas and it has performed much like a true racing slick. The tire was formulated for my big portly ZL1 and it does wear VERY fast on track, regardless of how much camber you dial into the suspension. This is a true track tire with a DOT approval stamp, do not buy this tire thinking it is for "spirited driving", this tire is to be used on the track and safe enough to be driven home carefully. This tire does not like temperatures below 60 degrees and essentially turn to glass when they are cold even when the ambient temperature is over 70. This tire will cause wrecks if they are driven by someone who does not understand these are DOT racing slicks with tread grooves.

All that being said, amazing track tire, unbelievable grip, seriously one of the best track tires I've driven on and I've driven on just about everything. The only step up from here is a true racing slick and that is IT, end of story. This tire beats the pants off the R888R, the NT01 and the Cup2 tire on the ZL1, again because it is formulated for this car and it's weight. Those same tires on other cars may do better than this one, I'm not 100% sure.

Although advertised as a street tire, it is basically useless for everyday use in almost any condition. To start with, the tire has very little grip until it warms up, (Chevy should've supplied 'tire warmers'...). Once it has heated up, the grip is phenomenal... in dry mild weather. but again

I quickly bought another set of wheels and tires for daily, and I'm saving these for the track. (I will be going to Prozes R888Rs for track use once the Goodyears are worn.)

FYI - ZL1 wheels and tires will fit on a ZL1-1LE.

...I pushed the last set to 12,000 miles. Basically bald. Was actually impresled with that considering that the tires start with 1/8 inch of tread and soft compound tires (sticky)...

These are excellent tires for what they are for. I have a ZL1/1LE Camaro. These tires are made for this car. The rating are actually a cheat you cannot use the to compare them to other tire. They are not made for the rain. I drive in the rain, but I slow down. These are street legal track tires. Thy have road noise. You feel every little bump. I pushed the last set to 12,000 miles. Basically bald. Was actually impresled with that considering that the tires start with an 1/8 inch of treadand soft compound tires (sticky). They come stock on a car that uses aluminum instead of rubber in the suspension. The springs are twice as stiff as the zl1 without the track package. When you accelerate you have to control the throttle, not the tires fault. It has something to do with the 650 horses. Now when you hit the brakes it stops fast. It corners hard and holds the road. I have not had the opportunity to try them on a track. Know what these tires are for and enjoy the car. If the tires are to noisy, to bumpy, don't like how they work in the rain, and they ware out to quickly it's nothing wrong with the tires. Your looking at the wrong car. You need to look at luxury cars. (Note these are 325/30ZR-19 in the rear and 305/30ZR-19 in the front.)
