Original Equipment (O.E.) self-supporting run-flat summer tires are an appropriate tire choice for sporty vehicles imported to the United States from Europe and Asia. Developed for use on new cars and light trucks, these tires offer temporary extended mobility in the event a puncture allows complete pressure loss, as well as provide a sporty blend of ride quality, noise comfort and handling, along with dry and wet traction. These tires are not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.
Goodyear's warranty states: "Ultra high-performance summer tires are not recommended for winter use, and tread or shoulder cracking on those tires resulting from winter use will not be covered under our warranty."
Goodyear RunOnFlat (ROF) tires incorporate special sidewall reinforcements that support the weight of the vehicle even after sustaining air pressure losses that would render conventional tires immobile. While internal tire damage will likely make replacement necessary, ROF tires are designed to endure being run on while flat for up to 50 miles at speeds up to 50 mph and provide drivers the temporary extended mobility necessary to drive through stormy weather and away from dangerous situations.
Original Equipment self-supporting run-flat summer tires are most often repurchased as direct replacements for pairs and sets of worn out Original Equipment tires and ROF tires are only recommended for vehicles originally equipped with self-supporting run-flat tires and a tire pressure monitoring system.
While we attempt to provide a picture of as many of these tires as possible, the pictures used to represent these tires cannot be guaranteed to be an exact depiction of each tire's appearance because of the variety of subtle differences in tread designs and sidewall styling.
Though they cannot be labeled as run-flat tires, tires branded with MOExtended or MOE on their sidewalls offer run-flat-like characteristics by delivering limited temporary extended mobility after a puncture results in complete loss of air pressure. Because MOExtended or MOE tires do not have the same speed and distance endurance of conventional run-flat tires, they should not be substituted in any situation where a conventional run-flat tire is required. To confirm what your vehicle needs, check our Original Equipment tire listing for your year, make and model or see your vehicle owner's manual.

User feedback reveals the Goodyear Excellence RunOnFlat delivers strong dry traction performance typical of summer grand touring tires, with multiple users praising confident grip (scores 8-10) and responsive handling in warm conditions. Comfort receives mixed feedback, as some note excessive road noise and a firm ride quality at higher speeds. Wet traction shows inconsistency, with several reports of reduced hydroplaning resistance and compromised control during heavy rain. Treadwear emerges as a common concern, with multiple customers mentioning faster-than-expected wear patterns despite moderate mileage use. While the tire satisfies summer driving expectations for many, these performance trade-offs may require consideration for buyers prioritizing refinement and wet weather capability.

Noisy from the start. Good cornering on dry roads. Very poor wet traction. I don't think these tires are safe in the snow. Putting on Michelins and that should take care of the problem. I have another identical Lexus with Michelins and the ride is pristine.

Customers report mixed wet traction performance with many scoring 7-10, but some rate 0-6. Hydroplaning resistance shows similar variability, with lower scores indicating potential concerns.

...There is zero rim protection, they are TERRIBLE in rain, and I bubbled three of them in 15,000 miles...
These tires came as OE on my 2011 535i. There is zero rim protection, they are TERRIBLE in rain, and I bubbled three of them in 15,000 miles. We had to yell at both BMW and Goodyear to have them replaced under warranty (BMW was useless; Goodyear took some effort). They are complete, utter, without question crap. In 16,000 miles on other tires (Michelin Primacy HP ZP), I've hit more potholes and had fewer problems (other than wear).

...These tires are LOUD with marginal performance in wet and dry weather...
Absolutely the WORST tires ever on a BMW sedan! These tires are LOUD with marginal performance in wet and dry weather. They are harsh riding, under performing for grip, and transmit vibrations into the car at highway speeds between 55 mph to 75 mph that are unbelievably terrible for any car! I've had the wheels and tires inspected for damage, rebalanced, and still the vibrations are transmitted through the car. With different tires, no vibrations are transmitted into the car. Driving on a long trip through Indiana and Michigan at 75 mph, these tires vibrated the car harshly, as if all four wheels were bent. I would NOT consider these tires for my car.

These tires were OEM for me. Worst I have ever experienced. Very unpredictable in the wet. Very hard and uncomfortable in dry. Short tread life. Switched to a set of Continental runflats which are superior to these Goodyears! But I know there must be better.

...very, very harsh riding and loud...bubbles started in the treads after about 25,000 which made them louder...
OEM from MINI..very, very harsh riding and loud.....bubbles started in the treads after about 25,000 which made them louder.... If all RUN-FLATS are like this...NO THANKS!!........replacing with Ultra High Performance All Season....that's what most of the other MINI drivers seem to do with great results......Bridgestones on my 911s. Michelins also with less desirable results....Conti's on the truck.....both have been great.....thought I'd try the spec tire of European sedan racing series....HANKOOK....look for that post shortly.......I would NEVER buy the tires that came on the MINI......never.

Absolutely crap tire. Besides the bubbles (have now replaced 2 tires, they are loud and handling is sub par. Do not buy, I recommend the Pirelli's instead

...These are loud and vibrate on the freeway with speeds above 100 km/hr...
Had this tyre on my vehicle from factory. Fortunately I was smart enough to get the tyre insurance from day 1. I have gone through 4 tyres in the front due to bubbling with minor pot hole impacts and just had a flat tyre yesterday and was surprised to learn that the tyre wore out to the wires on one side and was heading there in the other side on the rear ones!! I have only put 30K kilometers on these and they certainly shouldnt be that worn out.. These are loud and vibrate on the freeway with speeds above 100 km/hr. their traction in the wet is also sub par given they are rated ultimate performance. BMW should not have picked this to be an OEM tyre. The worst tyre i have ever had hands down!

Customers report mixed treadwear results, with some 9s and 10s but many 0-6 ratings. Several note premature wear despite proper use, though a few praise durability in summer conditions.

This is the worst tire I have ever purchased. These tires came with my BMW 750i. I bought a new set 1 year ago and after 9000 miles, they are completely bald with uneven tread wear despite balancing and alignment. I will never buy these tires again and will caution anyone else to do the same. DO NOT BUY THIS TIRE.

I'm having to replace the rears because of uneven wear, and within 5000 miles they are almost bald... They are comfortable, and grip the road fairly well, but longevity is definitely not part of their design...
I'm only writing this review because of the utter shock of how horrible these tires are. Within 5,000 miles, the two front sets of tires have been replaced twice due to bubbling on the sidewalls. Two of these 4 tires were replaced within 1000 miles. Stay FAR away from these tires as they are utter crap. I'm having to replace the rears because of uneven wear, and within 5000 miles they are almost bald.
They are comfortable, and grip the road fairly well, but longevity is definitely not part of their design. Having owned 8 different cars in 15 years, I've never had to replace a tire due to impact damage or pot-holes, and within 6 months of owning this car, I've replaced 4 Gooodyear Excellence already. Seems WAY too extreme.
