The Wrangler DuraTrac is Goodyear's Commercial All-Terrain light truck tire developed for the drivers of multi-purpose full-sized pickups, vans, sport utility and commercial vehicles looking for tires that play hard and work harder. The Wrangler DuraTrac is designed to be a versatile tire offering off-road competence in dirt, gravel and mud with on-road composure in dry, wet and wintry conditions.
Wrangler DuraTrac tires feature a rugged tread compound that helps resist tread block chipping, chunking and tearing, especially during heavy loading and towing applications. Its symmetric tread design combines large shoulders and highly angled center tread blocks to enhance stability and traction in dry and wet conditions. Self-cleaning, stepped shoulder blocks, zigzag sipes and Goodyear's TractiveGroove Technology at the base of the circumferential grooves provide thousands of biting edges to enhance traction in deep mud and snow. Wrangler DuraTrac tires feature a rim lock that helps prevent wheel slip throughout the life of the tire and offers a built-in rim protector to help protect wheels from accidental damage on- and off-road.
Wrangler DuraTrac light truck tires (with the exception of the 255/55R19-size) are branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol to identify they meet the industry's severe snow service standards. Specific sizes not meeting the industry's severe snow service requirements are identified with a "Not Rated For Severe Snow" notation on the Specs tab.
Select flotation LT and LT-metric-sized Wrangler DuraTrac tires are designed to accept optional #16 metal studs to enhance ice traction.

Winter capabilities stand out with high marks for snow and ice performance, earning consistent 8-10 scores. Treadwear is rated highly, with users reporting durability in rugged conditions. I have owned these tires for approximately three months. This is the worst winter I have driven in since 2010 and these tire are, without a doubt, well worth the money. All around performance is excellent particularly given the winter weather conditions this year and they look aggressive to the point of compliments from other drivers :-) The tires have excellent traction and cornering in dry, rain, and varied snow depth conditions. I have rarely had to use 4WD this winter and when I did, it was out of caution versus critical necessity. The tires do have some road noise, especially in cornering and 70+ mph Interstate speeds and do require a bit more adjustment in steering compared to normal A/T tires. Also, they will glide in slush but most tires, without studs, will do so. My biggest concern is that they will hold stones from offroad / gravel drives and throw them once on pavement. So far, the stones have only struck the inner wheel wells but I am slightly concerned that the tire might throw a stone into the exterior body panels if conditions are just right when considering outer tread patterns. I have fender flares so the risk is minimal but those without might be cautious of this issue. However, mud and water are clearly thrown onto the vehicle's sides much more from these tires - again due to outer edge tread pattern (even with fender flares). Bottom line - I would certainly buy these tires again and would recommend them to drivers with a properly equipped/designed vehicles who don't mind washing said equipment a bit more often than with normal A/T tires.

Ran this tire on both my 06 Duramax and my 19 Duramax by far the best overall tire out there. Hauled heavy loads 20k lbs plus several times never once had an issue with tires in any aspect. have been in spots pushing mud with front bumper and driving in snow above the bumper and can honestly say I have never once been scared I was going to be stuck. If you don't believe this statement I encourage you to try the tires for yourself and you wont be disappointed.

...Dry traction is great, and off road they are probably one of the best all around tires available...
Great go between AT/MT tire. Has lasted for 60K miles easy, I could probably push them to 70K. On road manners are pretty good, I'm not crazy about the wet pavement traction, such as taking off from a stop sign on a wet street. But once you get them going the wet road manners are good. Dry traction is great, and off road they are probably one of the best all around tires available. They can pretty much do it all. E range does ride stiff, but that's to be expected. Based on the tread pattern the noise is there, but nothing like a MT. It's easily bearable. Really my only complaint, has been wet road traction from a stand still, or while turning. They can spin out pretty easy. Overall I'd give them a 85% if I were rating them as a whole.

...They've performed very well in all road conditions... On the rare occasion that they do slip, it is predictable and controllable.
I've had these tires for two years now and they have about .25 inch of tread left. I've put about 30K mile on them and that's about all I ever get out of any set of tires. I live in the SE TN and use this vehicle as a daily driver, mostly highway miles, but I also do some off-roading occasionally. I also wanted a tire that would be able to get me to work if it snowed. My first impression was that they were a very quiet tire considering the aggressive tread pattern although they seem to have gotten a little louder with age. They've performed very well in all road conditions. I've also had them off road in various types of mud, clay and chirt with excellent results. Last week we had snow and ice on the roads with accidents everywhere but I never had the first problem. These tires performed flawlessly and took me up the steepest hills with no problem whatsoever. On the rare occasion that they do slip, it is predictable and controllable. I can honestly say that these have been the best all terrain tires I have purchased to date.

...I don't drive off-road very much, but for daily city/highway driving they are quiet, smooth, stable, and comfortable...
The Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac offers a significant improvement over the OEM tires on my 2015 JKU Rubicon. I don’t drive off-road very much, but for daily city/highway driving they are quiet, smooth, stable, and comfortable. This is the 2nd set of Duratracs I’ve put on my Wrangler, and I’m very happy with them. I got 48,000 miles out of the first set with regular front to back (same side) rotations around every 5000-6000 miles. If you’re like me and haven’t lifted your Jeep and you drive mainly on-road (and occasionally in sand), I think you’ll be very happy with the Duratracs performance. One thing to note is that if you’re shopping by vehicle on the TireRack website, the Duratracs aren’t listed on the results for the OEM size of P255/75R17. I had to hunt for them and shop by tire size. I highly recommend them and will buy another set when the time comes.

...They're quite for an aggressive tread pattern on the highway, handle well for the tread pattern in highway driving...
I drive a 97 Grand Cherokee ZJ with 4" of lift and installed these tires in a 31x10.50x15 size. They've exceeded my expectations in every respect. They're quite for an aggressive tread pattern on the highway, handle well for the tread pattern in highway driving, and perform excellently off road. I primarily use my Jeep for off road use but it does drive upwards of 200 highway miles one way to different parks. I've also used it to travel to work when the weather is too bad to travel in my other vehicle. They handle very well in the snow, packed or deep, and even do well on ice. For a tire that's not a mud terrain tire, they do surprisingly well in the mud but I wouldn't say it's a replacement for a traditional mud terrain. I haven't had them in sand so I cannot comment on their sand capabilities. I only have about 5k miles on them so far but they seem to be wearing well and evenly, if they're even wearing at all yet. I'd recommend these to anyone looking for a good all around tire for a vehicle that sees a multitude of uses. I'll most definitely be purchasing another set when the time comes.

I wasn't concerned with road noise, but these tires are very quiet. Nowhere near as loud as a Mud tire. I bought E load range for my Frontier and the ride is not at all harsh...
I wanted an aggressive looking all terrain tire that would do well in the snow and ice of MN winters, yet have decent road manners. I wasn't concerned with road noise, but these tires are very quiet. Nowhere near as loud as a Mud tire. I bought E load range for my Frontier and the ride is not at all harsh. Slightly stiffer than the SL range tires that came on the truck. The traction in the snow with these tires is wonderful. In 4WD my truck goes where I need it to go. I only have about 5000 miles on them, so I can't comment on wear, but they don't seem to have worn any amount where I can see. As long as these wear nicely, I'll definitely buy a set again.
Most customers give high scores of 9s and 10s for treadwear, though some report mixed results with ratings between 0-6. The DuraTrac's rugged build excels in all-terrain conditions.

...Even with over 35000 miles on them, I still have 10-15% tread left...
Can't say enough good things about this Goodyear Duratrac. From traction to wear to noise to looks, it really has it all. Even with over 35000 miles on them, I still have 10-15% tread left. I'm also going to buy another size for another vehicle, because of how great this set has been. I like that Goodyear is the last remaining American tire company and it is another reason I like Goodyears. If they weren't as great as I say they are, I wouldn't buy them again. I've talked a couple of friends into them and so far they've both been really happy.

So far I've put 80k on these tires (rotating every 10k). I am impressed. After 80k, there is still 1/4" tread left on the tire. I have pulled 3 nails/screws from these tires and they don't leak. The thick wall is awesome. I've never been stuck in the mud nor in the snow. The only down fall is the loss of mileage. I lost about 3 mpg because of the agressive treads. It may not seem like much, but a loss of 3 mpg over 80000 miles is roughly a wasted 900 gallons of gas (differnce between 18mpg to 15mpg). I will be buying another set of these tires when my current tires are worn enough. How many brands of tires can you buy at $230 each and get 100k out of them? Especially when they are meant to be off road tires....

...I was worried when reading the reviews to this tire saying that they don't last. I measured all 4 of my tires the other day and came up between 14.5 and 15/32 of tread remaining. Amazing. I have only been getting 22,000 miles per set of tires on average with this truck, and with these tires I only went through 1-2/32 in over 10,000 miles...
My 05' F150 has had Cooper a/t's, Firestone Destination a/t's, and General AmeriTrak a/t's on it and now these GY Duratracks.
When I drive, my foot is heavy on takeoff, but once I get to my speed I cruise if possible. I drive 95% on pavement 5% in the dirt. About 2/3's of my miles are on the highway, but I needed a tire that would handle that 5% that I am off-road. I figure that it's better to have an aggressive tire that will get me out of those sticky sitations when off-roading than to have a tire with the quietest & gas-saving qualities. I am glad that I did! Being stuck in the middle of nowhere by yourself is no picnic.
I was worried when reading the reviews to this tire saying that they don't last. I measured all 4 of my tires the other day and came up between 14.5 and 15/32" of tread remaining. Amazing. I have only been getting 22,000 miles per set of tires on average with this truck, and with these tires I only went through 1-2/32" in over 10,000 miles. The wear has far exceeded my expectations to this point.
There is a slight hum of the tires compared to less aggressive A/T tires, but not much more noticeable than a moderately loud computer fan. The sound is there, but is less than you might think.
My only knock on the Duratracks is that they do tend to wander a bit on the highway. At first I thought that it was just from all of the rubber on the tires. It may well be from that. The wandering does not increase with a loaded bed or towing. It is a consistent sliiight wander. Believe me, I am not bad mouthing these tires. It is very slight.
The traction is amazing. Wet, dry, ice, snow, dirt, mud, whatever... They will handle it all. Maybe not quite as well as a mud tire, but way, way better than an A/T tire.
So, to sum it up. Yes they are pricey, but they look mean, handle pretty good, last really long, and will take you almost anywhere. This is one of those tires that you get what you pay for...
