The Wrangler HP is Goodyear's Street/Sport Truck All-Season light truck tire developed for Original Equipment use on sporty pickups and sport utility vehicles like the Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Avalanche, Dodge Ram, Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo and Land Rover Discovery 4.6 HSE. The Wrangler HP was developed to blend on-road performance handling with year-round all-season traction, even in light snow.
The Wrangler HP features a symmetric tread design with wide outer shoulders and large intermediate blocks to provide responsive handling and traction on dry roads. Wide circumferential and lateral tread grooves help evacuate water from under the tire's footprint to resist hydroplaning while strategically placed sipes enhance all-weather grip. The tire's internal structure features twin steel belts (H-speed rated sizes reinforced with nylon cap plies) that stabilize the tread area to boost handling and high-speed capability. Depending upon application, the Wrangler HP features a polyester cord body to provide appropriate strength and enhance ride quality.

Driver experiences vary with the Goodyear Wrangler HP. Dry traction earns consistent praise (scores 8-10) for strong grip and responsive handling, making it reliable for street and sport truck use. Wet traction shows mixed results, with some drivers noting hydroplaning concerns and inconsistent grip in heavy rain. Winter performance receives cautious feedback, with limited confidence in snow and ice despite its all-season label. Comfort divides opinions-many appreciate a smooth ride, but others report noticeable road noise. Treadwear ratings lean negative, with several drivers noting faster-than-expected wear. While it excels in dry conditions, buyers prioritizing wet weather or long-term durability may want to weigh these trade-offs.

...Dry weather performance is stable and predictable. The tires are quiet, smooth...
I don't know what all the bad reviews are about. These are a perfect tire for my 2WD light truck. Dry weather performance is good. The tires are quiet, smooth, stable and predictable. Wet weather performance is much better than the previous tires, and much better than expected based on the other reviews of this tire. I just spent 3 days driving in tropical storm Ida and had no issues. Wheel spin is easily controllable... remember, this is a 2WD pickup so some is expected. All-in-all a good match for the vehicle.

...they were stock on my 4wd Ram with 20s but have awesome traction in dry, wet, and even snow...
this is a great tire if you want cheap all weather performance. they were stock on my 4wd Ram with 20s but have awesome traction in dry, wet, and even snow. we had 8 inches of snow fall last week and they did a great job. i was worried about how such a wide tire would do in the rain and snow, but i have had zero problems in any weather condition. they ride a bit rough but that is to expected in a short wheel base 4wd truck with 20s i guess. i put 400 pounds of sand bags in the back for the snow and it rides a lot better now. they work too well not to buy again, so far tread life is really great. this truck has the best wear patterns ive ever seen for such a large tire. i would put these on any large truck with confidence. not to mention they are 1/2 the price of anything else out there for 20 inch rims.

I would say that I am a spirted driver that commands acceleration, fast stopping and hard cornering...
I am looking at ordering my 3rd set of HPs and I have nothing but good to say about the HPs I currently have. I have got approx 55,000 on the current set which still has a little tread to go. I run them on the high side for pressure, 40 or 42 Lbs, to get a more rigid response and better/even wear. I would say that I am a spirted driver that commands acceleration, fast stopping and hard cornering.
I constantly think about another tire, but I am not sure that I would be happy with anything else but HPs. I have read all the online reviews here and it seems to be more the vehicle than the tires, in my opinion.

I've been driving for over 30 years and without a doubt, the Goodyear Wrangler HP is the worst tire I've ever owned. In fact, due to the tire's poor wet weather performance, I believe it to be unsafe. I am a relaxed driver and I've had my wife's car sideways three times with this tire in situations which should never cause a skid. Because of it's very poor performance, my wife refuses to drive in the rain with this tire. The noise generated at highway speeds prevents a conversation at normal voice levels. The only positive thing I can say is that they didn't blow out. These tires are SCARY bad. Avoid!

...These tires push the front end of the truck all over the road in any condition except bone dry. If you live where it snows, or even rains, do not even consider this tire...
I cannot believe Dodge would put a POS tire like this on a $40,000 4x4 with 390 hp ???...I almost died numerous times in slush and light snow. These tires push the front end of the truck all over the road in any condition except bone dry. If you live where it snows, or even rains, do not even consider this tire. If you are looking at a new vehicle and it has a Goodyear Wrangler HP....make sure you bargain with the dealer to replace the tires with anything else...or drive straight from the dealers lot to your local tire shop and see if they will give you a couple bucks as a new take off. For the safety of your family, and for your own, do not buy this tire. I just took them off with 50,000 kms on them and bought real tires

...Of course the very thing that gives it wear resistance causes it to have little or no wet traction.
Goodyear should apologize for making this tire. They put enough harder in the tread that it wears forever. Of course the very thing that gives it wear resistance causes it to have little or no wet traction.

...Very poor traction in wet conditions and very poor performace on ice. They do work in 4 wheel drive off road and they got me out of a snow covered dirt road...
Tires came stock on my 2008 Hemi Ram. They could go snother 5 to 7 thousand miles but coming into winter i need to switch them out. Very poor traction in wet conditions and very poor performace on ice. They do work in 4 wheel drive off road and they got me out of a snow covered dirt road. Wet traction is their downfall. Switching to Goodyear Wreagler AT/S had them before and they are a great tire.

...These tires offer zero traction in snow, even with the AWD system that is on my Element...
I was so disappointed in these tires from the moment I drove off the Honda Lot. These tires offer zero traction in snow, even with the AWD system that is on my Element. Hitting standing water on parkways above 60mph is downright dangerous.
I switched to Nokian WRs and the Element has transformed into what I thought I was getting from Honda. The Element now handles all weather conditions, doesnt skid across the road when hitting puddles at speed, can go through snow of any depth without slipping and sliding. Too bad Honda doesnt offer even a decent tire for the Element. Other are having wearing issues, something I didnt have. Not a tire someone should be buying, its bad enough they come on a new vehicle.
STAY AWAY FROM THESE TIRES.

...unsafe at any speed in any weather, especially in rain...
Let me start off by stating that I am an ASE Mater Tech. and a Honda Master Tech. with over 12 years experience, all starting with the tire industry. I rotate and balance every 3000 miles, do a 4 wheel alignment once a year, and check cold tire pressure twice a month, and these tires went bald at 30,000 miles. Completely unsafe at any speed in any weather, especially rain. I wouldn't use or recommend these tires to anyone, even if you won a free lifetime supply.

...When the tires were new, the ride was comfortable and quite. As the tire gained miles, the noise level started to go up pretty fast - at 15K miles and above it was a noisy ride but not unbearable...
OEM tires lasted 30K miles on light driving. Highway driving style was relatively fast so much of the wear is from this. Otherwise used in a small city exclusively. When the tires were new, the ride was comfortable and quite. As the tire gained miles, the noise level started to go up pretty fast - at 15K miles and above it was a noisy ride but not unbearable. Noticibly faster wear from 25K to 30K. Cost to replace is hefty so chose lower cost tire and better rated (Continental cross).

...After 13,000 Miles I am shopping for new tires since there is not enough tread to go through another New England winter. More than 50% of the tread is gone and we will be lucky to get 20,000 miles out of them...
We purchased our 2005 Landrover LR3 after driving our 1999 Discovery II for three years and it came with Wrangler HP tires on it. After 13,000 Miles I am shopping for new tires since there is not enough tread to go through another New England winter. More than 50% of the tread is gone and we will be lucky to get 20,000 miles out of them. I went to the dealer with this problem and he said we were one of the lucky ones to get that many miles out of them. I have had trouble with goodyear tires not lasting before on various vehicles (corvette, Ford F150 and Mitsubishi Eclipse) I will not ever purchase a set of goodyears as replacements!!! Unluckily I am sure I will have to replace one or two in the future. I would not recommend these tires to anyone.

...Also the treadwear is horrible. I only have 1300 miles on them and they have more than half of their treadlife gone.
These tires were oem on my Ram. I couldnt think of a worse choice for a tire. There was very light snow on the road this morning and i found myself all over the road. I had to put the truck in 4 wheel drive. Also the treadwear is horrible. I only have 1300 miles on them and they have more than half of their treadlife gone.

I have put 30,000 miles on these tires in 2 years, and up until a month ago I was planning on using them another 6 months. Then one tire started to separate, so I put on a used tire so I could run these until this coming winter. Then a week later a second tire separated...
I purchased my Yukon Used with these tires on it, tires were 95% I have put 30,000 miles on these tires in 2 years, and up until a month ago I was planning on using them another 6 months. Then one tire started to seperate, so I put on a used tire so I could run these until this coming winter. Then a week later a second tire seperated. I'll never buy goodyear again. I just replaced these with a new set of Michelin LTX M/S2 and what a difference. The goodyears are JUNK compared to the ride the Michelin's provide. Don;t buy this tire, horrible tread life, bad ride, poor costruction. I was expecting to get another 10K on them taking me to the wear bars, but they fell apart first. I never towed, never drove them hard, they wore horribly despite timley rotations.
