The Kinergy GT is Hankook's Grand Touring All-Season tire originally developed for Original Equipment use on vehicles from Honda, Hyundai, Kia and Volkswagen. It is designed to provide a quiet and comfortable driving experience combined with traction in all weather conditions, even light snow.
The Kinergy GT molds a silica-infused, all-season compound into a symmetric, five-rib tread pattern. The rigid center rib aids traction for acceleration and braking performance, and the high-modulus bead filler increases sidewall stiffness for responsive steering. The high-grip silica tread compound delivers wet traction, while wide lateral notches and four circumferential grooves evacuate water from beneath the contact patch for increased hydroplaning resistance. Multiple tread sipes feature chamfered edges to maximize contact area on slippery surfaces, providing confident all-season traction.
Internal construction of the Kinergy GT features two wide, steel belts with a full-width nylon reinforcement (in most sizes) for improved handling, durability and high-speed stability. A body casing made from polyester cord helps manage the trade-off between handling and comfort, while the strong, jointless bead wire enhances uniformity for a smoother ride.

Customer surveys indicate the Hankook Kinergy GT delivers strong dry traction (7-10 ratings) with responsive handling, making it a reliable choice for everyday driving. However, comfort receives mixed feedback, with some noting excessive road noise and a firm ride. Treadwear scores show inconsistency, with many reporting premature wear despite moderate mileage. Winter traction struggles in deeper snow and icy conditions, with frequent low scores (0-4) highlighting limited cold-weather confidence. Wet performance sees split opinions-while some praise decent grip, others mention hydroplaning risks in heavy rain. Overall, it appeals to drivers prioritizing dry-road competence but may disappoint those seeking refined comfort or all-season versatility.

...fantastic dry traction... in the first 10 months, the tires were great (and this is in MN)... dry traction was still similar...
I'd like to start off by saying that I'm usually flying close to 100 in my car. With that said, in the first 10 months, the tires were great (and this is in MN). Had fantastic dry traction, solid wet traction, and I could manage the snow while driving my front wheel drive 6 speed manual. After 10 months have gone by, I had 4/32" tread depth left in the front and 8/32" in the back. And so I did a tire rotation. Performance reduced drastically, dry traction was still similar, wet traction decreased significantly, found myself in the ditch once going 70mph in medium/heavy rain. The tire used to be able to handle that quite well. Snow traction has yet to be tested but outlook does not look promising. I should note that when these were brand new, during the first heavy snow fall here in MN I took these cruising on an un-plowed highway going 70+ and aside from a few times the car started drifting where I didn't want it to go, the tires performed extremely well. Overall, first year you'll enjoy your tire but I'd recommend getting rid of them after that. If you're a regular driver and not like me where you're trying to push your car every day, you could get 2 years out of them before a significantly noticeable decrease in performance.

...These tires are perfectly quiet and at least in dry conditions handle superbly!...
I took a loaner VW Passat from the local dealership as I was having work conducted in mine. I didn't pay particular attention to the tires until I started driving down the road and heard absolute silence! These tires are perfectly quiet and at least in dry conditions handle superbly! I guessed before looking at them that they were probably high end summer Michelins, and was suprised to find that they were Hankook Kinergy GTs, an all-season tire! Fantastic, will keep these in mind for sure for my own vehicle in the future.

For an OEM tire I am impressed with the ride, quietness, and handling in dry conditions. In the wet the tires seem to perform well but this could be all the electronic goodies taking over. Same for the snow and ice. Tires work well but again all the traction and safety stuff on the CRV may be making up for the tire. Regardless this is a pretty decent tire and is far better than the OEM tires that Honda put on previous CRV. Time and mileage will tell about wear and durability. For those of us that care about the look of the sidewall this Hankook is pretty decent to look at.

Customers praise the Hankook Kinergy GT's wet traction with many 9s/10s, but lower scores (0-6) note reduced grip and hydroplaning concerns in heavy rain, leading to mixed confidence.

...Wet weather performance is abysmal. The tires have no grip, and even moderate acceleration in the wet causes wheelspin...
While these tires have acceptable dry performance, they melt like butter in a hot skillet. 20K miles, and the tread depth is at 3/32, simply unacceptable. If you have any snow in your area, do not purchase these tires. I was on the fence about dedicated winter tires until the first dusting of snow, at which point I had great difficulty driving up shallow grades.
Wet weather performance is abysmal. The tires have no grip, and even moderate acceleration in the wet causes wheelspin. I can't believe VW put these tires on the GLI as OE.
I'm going to finish this season, swap to my winter Blizzaks, and look forward to a good set of Michelins in the spring.
In summary: reasonable in the dry, unacceptable tread life, horrid wet weather grip. It's worth spending the money on something else, these tires are awful.

...Where they really fall down is snow traction. These may be the worst tires for even light snow that I've encountered in 15+ years. Rounding a gentle curve at 10 MPH in well under an inch of wet snow, I may as well have been driving on solid ice...
These are the OE tires on my 2024 Honda Accord EX-L Hybrid. They're decently well behaved on dry roads but less so in the rain - I've had to slow down a bit more than I thought should be necessary to prevent hydroplaning. The ride quality and road noise levels could both be better for a Grand Touring tire, but they're not terrible. Where they really fall down is snow traction. These may be the worst tires for even light snow that I've encountered in 15+ years. Rounding a gentle curve at 10 MPH in well under an inch of wet snow, I may as well have been driving on solid ice. The car began to understeer, and the most gentle application of the brakes resulted in the ABS kicking in without much in the way of deceleration. The tires are also wearing such that they'll be down to 4/32" by around 20k miles, but the poor wear hardly matters - given my experience in the snow, they're getting replaced ASAP.

...I am not exaggerating when I say that these are the most dangerous tires you could put on a car with a focus on performance. They are useless in the snow and any aggressiveness you need to merge or beat a light could be a traction loss if there is even a morning dew on the street...
These tires came oem on my GLI and this is the second time I have had a car with these from factory. I am not exaggerating when I say that these are the most dangerous tires you could put on a car with a focus on performance. They are useless in the snow and any aggressiveness you need to merge or beat a light could be a traction loss if there is even a morning dew on the street. Stay the heck away and buy ANYTHING else. Preferably the Continental DWS06 or Michelins.

...They are very, very loud at any speed or on any highway above 50 mph! I have to to turn up the radio very loud to hear conversations. They also are very firm tire, so potholes reverberate throughout the entire car, even when I have the set up on 'comfort'...
These are the OEM tires on my GLI and they just ruin the overall experience. They are very, very loud at any speed or on any highway above 50 mph! I have to to turn up the radio very loud to hear conversations. They also are very firm tire, so potholes reverberate throughout the entire car, even when I have the set up on "comfort". Hankook is also impossible to deal with. Their customer service was completely indifferent to my concerns or needs. I will NEVER willingly by Hankook tires based on this experience. Avoid this tire at all costs.

...These tires are ROCK HARD. It is a sporty tire but putting it on a camry as a OEM tire is the dumbest thing i have ever seen... They are also ludicrously noisy. I thought that my car just had a lot of wind noise. Nope. Turns out that after switching to a set of decent michelin tires that these hankooks are just plain noisy...
First of all. This is a Sport A/S Tire rated for 70k miles. That right there off the bat says it will not live up to its mile rating because a sporty tire will never even reach 40-50k miles unless you drive really slow.
Living in the country with moderately curvy roads and 75% highway driving, this tire lasted 27k miles when it was already recommended to be replaced by the dealer. This meant maybe 2-3 more months and its time to look around for a new set. I'd say if i didn't blow one of them on a curb (which turns out these tires are FRAGILE) I could get about 35k miles out of this tire at the max, which is normal for a sporty tire. Do not expect anywhere near 70k unless you live in perfect conditions with no rain, snow, perfect roads with no curves. And if you drive spiritedly take another 10k off your guess.
Next. These tires are ROCK HARD. It is a sporty tire but putting it on a camry as a OEM tire is the dumbest thing i have ever seen. Bridgestone potenza's are quieter and about the same price and will actually last their rated mileage. They are also ludicrously noisy. I thought that my car just had a lot of wind noise. Nope. Turns out that after switching to a set of decent michelin tires that these hankooks are just plain noisy. I used to keep my music on 25-30 volume and now I can turn my music down to 15-20 simply because of less road and wind noise.
They do handle really well, but they have no traction when wet. Spin tires for DAYS.

These came as OE tires on my Company 2020 Malibu LT. I have put roughly 1100 miles on them this month and, without question, these are the worst new tires I have ever experienced. They are louder than the Michelin Energy Saver A/S tires on my other car that are at the wear bars!...
These came as OE tires on my Company 2020 Malibu LT. I have put roughly 1100 miles on them this month and, without question, these are the worst new tires I have ever experienced. They are louder than the Michelin Energy Saver A/S tires on my other car that are at the wear bars! It's been raining a lot recently, and the car skitters all over the road, even worse than it does on dry pavement. Where I work we have over a dozen new 2020 Malibus and some of them arrived with Goodyear or Michelin tires, both of which are much, much quieter than the Hankooks. If you are looking at purchasing a new car and these are the tires on it, have the dealer swap out the tires before you buy.

...They were 60% worn at around 13,000 miles - unacceptable for a 60k mile tire with a tire rotation done every 5k miles...
I purchased these only because of a rebate going on at the time. Snow and wet traction is my main concern, as well as treadwear. These categories are probably these tires' worst features. They were fine in light snow when they were brand new. They were 60% worn at around 13,000 miles - unacceptable for a 60k mile tire with a tire rotation done every oil change (5k miles). My next set of tires were a Continental PureContact which are the best tires I've ever owned.

Got these with new 2020 Honda Civic and they only lasted me 28,850 miles and 4 years. My driving style is not aggressive at all... I just think they got worn out with less miles than expected.
Got these with new 2020 Honda Civic and they only lasted me 28,850 miles and 4 years. My driving style is not aggressive at all. Combined usage of city and highway equally.
