The Ventus S1 noble2 (H452) is Hankook's Ultra High Performance All-Season tire developed for the drivers of sports cars, sporty coupes and performance sedans looking to combine on-road performance with all-season traction in dry wet and wintry conditions. Designed to provide Hankook's ideal Ultra High Performance All-Season balance, the Ventus S1 noble2 blends handling and cornering performance with all-season traction, even in light snow.

Kontrol Technology is a Hankook philosophy, as well as a set of proprietary innovations applied during tire research, development and production to ensure controlled driving experiences. The "K" denotes "kinetic" to reflect that the interaction of the tire with the road lies at the heart of driving control. Kontrol Technology provides a range of benefits across four areas that drivers identify as key when choosing quality tires: performance, safety, comfort and environmental impact.

Ventus S1 noble2 tires use hybrid compound technology silica that combines wet road traction with lower rolling resistance and longer treadlife. This compound is molded into a sophisticated semi-rib asymmetric tread design that features notched outboard shoulders, intermediate and center ribs to deliver responsive handling and stable cornering in dry conditions. Four circumferential grooves and inboard Aqua Hydro Block technology provide efficient wet traction and braking. Carving edge grooves and 3D sipes promote wet road and wintertime traction without abandoning dry road response and handling.

The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by a double layer of spirally wrapped nylon to blend handling, high-speed durability and uniform ride quality. Sidewalls are tuned with high-hardness bead fillers and casing plies that promote handling, steering response and ride uniformity. The tire was developed using 3D vibration analysis technology, which produces an advanced mold profile that delivers uniform contact pressure across the footprint to promote even wear and secure braking performance.

Hankook Reviews

Customers think the Hankook Ventus S1 noble2 delivers excellent dry traction (8-10 scores) and strong wet performance with reliable hydroplaning resistance (7-10), fitting its Ultra High Performance All-Season role. Winter traction shows mixed results (3-6 scores), with some drivers noting reduced confidence in snow and ice. Ride comfort earns consistent praise for smoothness and low noise (7-10). Treadwear raises concerns, with many ratings in the 1-5 range suggesting shorter lifespan expectations. While excelling in dry/wet handling and comfort, buyers prioritizing winter capability or long-term durability may want to weigh these trade-offs against the tire's strong all-season fundamentals.

...For dry and wet performance, these tires are superb! No hydroplane or grip issues at 80+ mph in heavy rain...

I have about 5k miles on these Hankook S1 nobles (put them on around early June). For dry and wet performance, these tires are superb! No hydroplane or grip issues at 80+ mph in heavy rain.

Recently I made a long (200 mile) journey to up state new york using the tires and it was a mix of heavy rain, slush, and snow. The tires handled great at a solid 50-65 mph on the highway, with limited slippage. They only slipped a little when changing lanes, which was understandable because there was blocks of slush on top of the lane markers.

Surprisingly, I was even able to make it up my steep hill with about 2 inches of snow on it, and my AWD didn't even kick in for it! (infiniti orange AWD logo kicks on if it activates when slipping)

Tires are very stable at high speeds of 100+ mph, and the handling is pretty predicable when cornering, almost on par with a dedicated summer tire. Noise and comfort level is just marginally worse than the previous Goodyear comfortred touring tires I took off, which is great for a performance tire.

I do not have experience in heavy snow as yet, but I look forward to tackling it! Definitely will buy this tire again.

A very budget friendly ultra high performance tire that will compete with the best. Noise level is ok but the dry and wet handling so far are great. My car did slip with light ice so I might end up getting a dedicated winter set later or try Good Year Assymmetric.

...This tires rides exceptional well and has better wet traction than the RSA's or Michelin MXV4's...

I am a Police Fleet Service Manager where we use the Goodyear Eagle RSA on all of our Police Inceptors. I have been using RSA's on my personal vehicle for the last 8 years and this time I went with the Hankook's because of the advanced technology, tire warranty, reviews and price. This tires rides exceptional well and has better wet traction than the RSA's or Michelin MXV4's. This tire doesn't come near the handling of the Eagle RSA's and it would probably not become a pursuit rated tire. I drive 20,000 miles a year so we will see the how this tire fares with mileage. The quiet and smooth ride is welcomed, but the lost of sharp handling is not. I am going to add additional air pressure (above the OEM recommended 35 psi) to see if that brings the steering sharpness back, since the tire maximum is 51 psi.

...These tires have excellent dry traction and are grippy when cornering. Steering response is great. These tires make make my car feel like riding on rails...

I bought this tire to replace a set of Cooper Zeon's that were on my vehicle. The improvement in my car's handling was felt immediately. These tires have excellent dry traction and are grippy when cornering. Steering response is great. These tires make make my car feel like its riding on rails. Another benefit is that they are very quiet. My old Cooper's were very loud. Purchasing a W rating gives me a slightly firmer ride, but the tradeoff in traction and handling is worth it. The tread wear number is 500 so I expect to get about 35k miles out of them. My Cooper Zeon's with a 400 tread wear lasted about 30k miles with regular rotation. Their price is a great value after the mail in rebate.
Some people have a problem with tires produced in Korea, however Korea's state of the art engineering and computerized manufacturing is among the best in the world. The quality shows in this tire!

...The ride was decent, dry traction ok...

These tires came as original equipment on my wife's Explorer Sport. I noticed early on that they were wearing fairly quickly and it looked like we were going to hit the wear indicators by 30k. However, at 25k I noticed large sections of the tires peeling off the outboard edge tread. I've never seen anything like this on a tire before. The ride was decent, dry traction ok, wet traction ok, not much used in the snow. All performance characteristics were ok, but not even close on quality and longevity. No more Hankook on our vehicles.

...Despite that great wear, the tires had huge grip, not as much as a summer performance tire, obviously, but I didn't expect these to handle as well as they did...

I drive the crap out of my M3: every on ramp and off ramp are excuses to test the car and the tires, and as a result they don't last long. One brand of ultra high performance tires only lasted 9,000 miles, and I rarely get more than 12,000. Except for these tires, which took a licking and lasted 28,500! Note that I can't rotate tires because the sizes are staggered, and the camber was set up for track, so that put even more stress in the tire.

Despite that great wear, the tires had a huge grip, not as much as a summer performance tire, obviously, but I didn't expect these to handle as well as they did. Just getting ready to order another set.

...There is considerably less road noise and noticeably better ride than my previous tires. I have to agree with previous testers on the boom you will hear when you have a larger impact and the turn in on corners is less precise. The boom is nothing that would ever keep me from purchasing them again...

I have never written a review on tires before but felt that these certainly deserve it! My Goodyear RS-A's were down to the wear bars at 30k miles, I wanted something that would give me slightly better ride and since I live in the Midwest some traction in snow. I loved the performance of the RS-A's but truth be told the ride of the Infiniti leaves a little to be desired on longer trips...actually even shorter trips. I have owned three of them and understand it is a "sport" suspension but as my kids get older they don't always like bouncing up and down in the back seat.

I had the new Hankook Ventis S1 Noble2 installed about two weeks ago and have been taking it easy to break them in. There is considerably less road noise and noticeably better ride than my previous tires. I have to agree with previous testers on the "boom" you will hear when you have a larger impact and the turn in on corners is less precise. The "boom" is nothing that would ever keep me from purchasing them again and I am hoping that as the tire wears and breaks in that the turn in will get better. The fact that the temperature here has been anywhere from 0 to 20 degrees since I purchased them does not help. When warmer temps return I will adjust the tire PSI to see if I can get a better blend of responsiveness and ride comfort. These tires are less than half the price of the RS-A's so I am not expecting them to beat them on the track.

This week I just returned from a 1,000 mile trip to Michigan and ran into rain, snow, freezing rain and slush on the return trip. The road conditions were horrible and had I not purchased these tires I would have pulled over and most likely got a hotel. On the snow and ice they had great breaking, acceleration and hold very well cornering at highway or city speeds. They really gave us the confidence to keep going.

I would recommend these tires to anyone that wants less road noise, better ride and a huge improvement over other performance models. Good Luck

Extremely well made tire (Indonesia), easily balanced, quiet, responsive and what a smooth ride. Bigger question is to Mercedes as to their love affair with Continental. This tire is A#1 and beats the competition hands down regardless of price. They remind me of the old Michelin MXV4s

I was actually inspired to write this because I bought a new car with this tires on it (V6 Mustang), I've had it for less than 2K miles, and I've already been stuck twice. The first was on wet grass with only the gentlest hint of an incline. The other was on about 1/4" of leftover slush from snow we had about 5 days ago. I slid off my driveway and into grass with the same snow on it, and I was done. My brand new car is stuck in my own front yard, sliding laterally towards a tree every time I try to move it. The positive for these tires is their dry handling. If you live in the south/southwest or west coast in the non-rainy season, these tires are great and quiet. Would definitely avoid if there's even a chance of snow or freezing. My confidence is not high for wet handling, but only because of the lack of grip these tires have already demonstrated in my experience. Other mitigating factors is I have them on a 300hp rear-wheel drive car. You may have better luck on a front-wheel drive vehicle with grip.

Everything was great with these tires, excellent in the snow and ice - I live in upstate New York. In dry conditions they are also excellent. A little noisy when we first fitted them.

However the major issue with these is treadwear, after a little less than 30'000 they need replacing which I am doing today. Because of the terrible treadwear in these tires I will not be ordering them again. Also considering I put dedicated snow tires on my mini cooper s in the winter months, they hardly get much bad weather.

To note, if you buy ultra high performance tires they are likely to wear down a lot quicker, something that is conveniently not mentioned on tirerack.
