Hankook Ventus V12 evo2The Ventus V12 evo2 (K120) is Hankook's Max Performance Summer tire developed for the drivers of sports cars, sporty coupes and high performance sedans who want to express their personality and style. Designed to deliver impressive traction and handling, Ventus V12 evo2 tires offer comfort and control in warm dry and wet road conditions. However, like all summer tires, they are not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

The Ventus V12 evo2 radial's high-grip silica tread compound features an innovative functionalized styrene polymer that lowers tire rolling resistance to enhance vehicle fuel economy without surrendering dry and wet traction. This compound is molded into a directional tread design featuring notched shoulders and 3D intermediate ribs flanking a continuous center rib to promote dry handling and traction. Circumferential and aqua jet lateral grooves promote efficient water evacuation from the center of the tire's contact patch to enhance hydroplaning resistance and wet traction. Grooves in the intermediate blocks feature stealth technology and a unique wing tip design that reduces noise.

The tire's internal structure includes two wide steel belts reinforced by two plies of spirally wrapped jointless nylon. High stiffness bead fillers sandwich hard rubber between the sidewall's polyester cord casing plies to improve handling response by resisting distortion at high speeds and while cornering.

Customers Say

Feedback consistently shows the Hankook Ventus V12 evo2 delivers excellent dry traction (scores 9-10) and confident cornering, living up to its Max Performance Summer intent. Wet traction earns solid marks (7-8 range) with reliable grip in rainy conditions. Riders appreciate the comfortable ride quality and well-controlled noise levels. While treadwear ratings are generally positive for a summer tire, some customers note uneven wear patterns or shorter-than-expected lifespan, particularly with aggressive driving styles. The tire's performance-focused design shines in dry handling scenarios, making it a strong choice for enthusiasts prioritizing responsive summer driving dynamics.

...However these stick like glue on the dry, and are pretty darn good on the wet...

I have only had these for 100 miles and only on the back end of the car so I can't really comment on cornering or tread wear. However these stick like glue on the dry, and are pretty darn good on the wet. Can't wait to get the front tires replaced with these.

These tires replaced the firestone fire hawk A/S that came factory that only lasted 22000mls. I only drive the car from spring to fall so I only needed 3 season tires. these tires are amazingly quiet and responsive. recently I got caught in a heavy downpour on the interstate and could barely see the car in front of me when traffic suddenly went from 70mph to a crawl, the tires stuck like glue, no hydroplaning at all. and I have a better ride than I did with the Firestones, had the tires sent to my local Dodge dealer for installation best tire have ever owned. just hope they wear better than the Firestones.

...Incredible grip in the dry. Launching out of corners is very impressive...

This is on the scatpack challenger 6spd. Incredible grip in the dry. Launching out of corners is very impressive. I only drive the car 2-3 times per week so the tires still look brand new but after about 750 miles driven and being parked in the garage for most of the week, I have no issues with the tires whatsoever. Also I have driven several times in the rain and some very heavy storms during the summer and no problems.

...Dry traction is prime...

This tire is awesome, have them on my stage 2 wrx and love them. They are very quiet and comfortable. Dry traction is prime. Wet traction is even better! Never been able to make them slip or skip on pavement and they do pretty decent on other surfaces too especially when absorbing pothole shocks. The only complaint I have is they feel a little sloshy at the recommended pressures in that when you turn the wheel there is a...lag...until you feel the car change direction. Probably due to the softer more comfortable sidewall. Overall awesome tire!

...Cornering is GREAT; one of the first things I did was a spirited roll up and around Mulholland Drive and they held those quick corners with ease - BETTER than the Pirellis in my estimation...

Put a set of these on my 997 - replacing my old Pirellis - moreso as an experiment to see how some cheaper shoes would go over.

After about of month with them - city and freeway driving in Los Angeles - I have to say I'm pretty impressed! Cornering is GREAT; one of the first things I did was a spirited roll up and around Mulholland Drive and they held those quick corners with ease - BETTER than the Pirellis in my estimation. Freeway performance was fine; didn't notice tire noise to be any better or worse than before.

They feel a little slower off the line - which I'm not really going to complain about too much because, well - I live in LA and my car is a 6 speed so they do kind of make traffic a little more bearable in a 911. Some may not like this - I, on the other hand, do.

Overall, pretty happy with these.

I enjoy a very comfortable ride and these tires are a great help!

I installed these on my 03 Infiniti G35 about 3 years ago. With 15k miles or so, they have performed very well and still have plenty of thread on them, despite me being heavy-footed on the gas pedal sometimes. I enjoy a very comfortable ride and these tires are a great help!

...They are smooth and quiet and give a nice ride quality, much better than the OEM tires for about half the price...

I bought these tires because of the price compared to the OEM Bridgestone ER33, plus the $100 rebate.

i am definitely pleased with these tires. They are smooth and quiet and give a nice ride quality, much better than the OEM tires for about half the price. I do have a couple of observations worth noting. They are mostly compared to the OEM tires

1. There is NO rim protector. When I say NO rim protector, I mean it. The sidewall is essentially flush with the rim.
2. The tire has a more square shoulder and thus appears wider which makes it look nice and fill out the wheel well a bit more. However, because of the slightly wider foot print on the front, there is less understeer. This issue is exaggerated with lower pressures.
3. The tires squeal on hard cornering, say over 50 mph through right hand clover leaf on ramps or over 35 mph on right hand turns. if you don't drive like i do, then these tires will perform well.

I would likely buy these tires again as they are a great value.

These tires are good for higher performance vehicles driven primarily in dry conditions. The treadwear is high, but as expected given they are on a heavy, powerful, RWD car driven quickly and cornered harder than most people would dare. Do not even look at your car in snowy conditions with this tire installed.

...The first set I bought I only got around 10,000 miles on them, partly because I never checked my tires for air... The rears are almost completely gone, but the fronts still look like they have 1/3 of the thread wear left...

I have been buying Hankook evo2 v12 tires for my 350z for the past 6 years. I have 245/35/19 fronts and 275/35/19 rears. The first set I bought I only got around 10,000 miles on them, partly because I never checked my tires for air. So I was running 22 psi fronts, thus it caused my tires to go out completely. However, after getting the same tires and actually putting air into my tires every 6 months, I am running on about 27,000 miles and counting. The rears are almost completely gone, but the fronts still look like they have 1/3 of the thread wear left. Coming from Sumitomo HTR ZIII, these make less noise, have better grip, but the side wall is a lot softer as others have said. If you take care of these tires you can get over 25k miles. I do spirited driving and frequent pulls on the highway as well. Currently trying to get to 30k miles on these tires before I buy them again.

When I bought these tires, I was AWARE that the treadwear would not exceed 30k miles. Being that I am an older spirited driver, my research told me these tires grip asphalt/concrete like glue - and they do!! Not quite sure why some folks diss sidewall lean... but I view this as complementary to positive cornering. Until I can find skins that perform like these, I'm stickin' with them.
