The Ventus V4 ES (H105) is Hankook's Ultra High Performance All-Season tire developed for the drivers of sports cars, sports coupes and performance sedans. The Ventus V4 ES is designed to combine cutting-edge appearance with predictable handling, traction and control on dry and wet roads, as well as in occasional light snow.
The Ventus V4 ES molds an ultra high performance all-season tread compound into a directional design featuring a continuous center rib flanked by stable independent intermediate and shoulder tread blocks to enhance dry traction. Wide circumferential main grooves and multiple lateral side slots create waterways that aid water drainage to minimize hydroplaning and enhance wet traction. Sipes in each tread block increase the number of biting edges to reinforce winter traction without abandoning wet and dry handling.
Hankook's Controlled Footprint Shape profile uses the tire's internal structure of twin steel belts reinforced by spirally wrapped nylon to promote predictable handling and uniform wear.

General and Kumho provide good performance levels paired with attractive pricing. Both have recently released new Ultra High Performance All-Season tires, so we decided to evaluate them side-by-side, along with two other value-focused tires from the category: the General G-MAX AS-03 and Kumho Ecsta 4X tires with the Hankook Ventus V4 ES H105 and Yokohama AVID ENVigor.
Customer feedback data reveals strong dry traction and responsive handling, with many ratings in the 8-10 range. Wet performance receives praise for reliable grip and hydroplaning resistance, though a few users report variability in heavy rain. Winter traction shows notable concerns, particularly on ice and in deep snow, with scores frequently below 5. Comfort earns consistent praise for a smooth, quiet ride, supported by high marks in noise reduction. Treadwear is viewed positively, with many customers noting durability aligns well for an ultra high performance all-season tire. Overall satisfaction highlights its strengths in intended conditions while acknowledging limitations in severe winter scenarios.

...Driving home on I-95 during a torrential downpour proved no problem for the Ventus V4...
I replaced a set of Fuzion HRi with the Hankook Ventus V4. The first thing I noticed was how much quieter the ride was. No longer did I have to raise my voice to speak to the kids in the back seat although different types of asphalt had a direct impact on road noise. Next I noticed that the ride was much more civilized; not every bump came through as a sharp kick. Cornering, although not as quick as with the much more rigid side wall of the Fuzion, was still very acceptable for my driving style. Driving home on I-95 during a torrential downpour proved no problem for the Ventus V4. Overall I am very happy with this tire, hopefully tread wear won't disappoint.

When I switched to the Hankooks...I immediately saw a HUGE difference...my car feels brand new & handles like a champ..I have more confidence at high speeds in rain & dry weather...
I originally had Goodyear RSA's OEM....Horrible tire...terrible in the rain terrible in the snow & very unstable!...When I switched to the Hankooks...I immediately saw a HUGE difference....my car feels brand new & handles like a champ..I have more confidence at high speeds in rain & dry weather...cornering is something out of a race track & when I go over bumps on highway the car handles like a champ. With the good years I had ZERO confidence on the road!....Definitely a great purchase...I havent driven in snow conditions as yet but based on how the hankooks handle in the rain im sure they will do just fine in light snow...I dont expect much from a low profile tire in the snow anyway...just plain physics. All in all a great tire for the price its actually a steel....I strongly recommed this tire.

Better than the Goodyear LS2 by a long shot. Great dry grip and cornering stability. Much quieter than I'm used to. Would buy these again.

...They are reasonably quiet for the highway, and provide excellent dry traction...
I picked these tires due to their cost. I got them at a discount at my workplace and had a mail in rebate. I previously had BF goodrich G force sport tires, and these hankook's put them to shame. They are reasonably quiet for the highway, and provide excellent dry traction. In the wet, my care struggles to break it loose as I bump through the gears, whereas with my old tires I would get the tires spinning between 2nd and 3rd and 4th. Excellent tire. Semi soft sidewall allows for great ride confort. In comparison to the BF goodrich tires, these are better in every capacity from my experience.

...If you know its faults (snow and ice traction) it is a great affordable performance tire... They are long lasting with a decent amount of traction...
I first review this car when first put on car, now 30,000 miles later. I still like them. If you know its faults (snow and ice traction) it is a great affordable performance tire. I use snow tires. I have along highway commute and these tires work great. They are long lasting with a decent amount of traction. Very, very good in rain, and on cold dry or slightly wet roads.

Replacement set of tires for Conti DWS (same size). The Hankook tire ride comfort and steering response considerably better than the Conti's. Rest of the rated parameters are about the same. Haven't experienced snow with the Hankook's yet. Tires balanced well first try. Very satisfied with the purchase so far.

These tires are soft and the ride is quite and luxurious. And at the same time, if I push the car to perform, they handle exceptionally well, even in heavy rain. Of course, in winter weather (ice and snow), I'm not sure any tire will help in my Lincoln LS. I was shocked that the tires wore as well as they did ... since I did not even rotate them (I wonder how much longer they would have lasted if I did). I am getting ready to replace the tires but am having trouble because they still ride great (at 4/32 tread depth). Previously, I had Goodyear Eagle GT tires that lasted about 23,000 miles (without rotating them) and they did not handle near as well, a little noisy, and stiff on the road. I am not a tire expert, but I have had a lot of different cars with the usual Goodyear, Firestone, Michelin, and Bridgestone brand tires. These are the best I have driven on (except for Continental Tires). I would give the Hankook Tires an overall rating of 8.6 and value of 9.6. I am looking at the Continental Extreme Contact DWS All Weather Ultra High Performance tires as a replacement (I just put a set on my wife's 2007 BMW 325i in December; by the way those tires made her car seem like a front wheel drive or 4-wheel drive car on ice and snow this winter), but I don't know if I want to spend the extra money for my Lincoln with almost 96,000 miles.

A well priced performance tire that becomes very noisy after only 25% wear... wears very well but I prefer a softer, quieter much more responsive tire.
A well priced performance tire that becomes very noisy after only 25% wear. It is slow to respond to steering input and doesn't have much of a ride. I found it handles quite well in aggressive situations, wears very well but I prefer a softer, quieter much more responsive tire.

...During the winter, this tire is downright unsafe. Unless you are driving incredibly slowly and don't turn much, you'll be risking your life every time you leave the house. My Eclipse is FWD, and yet I can't start moving at stoplights...
These tires aren't anything special. I've had them for 6 months and put on 8,000 miles, and they really don't excel in any area. During the summer, they run very level and smooth, but you do feel plenty of bumps. The turning capabilities aren't anything to write home about... although I do turn quicker and easier that my friends that have fusion tires. They have started to get louder and louder the more they wear. They aren't too bad yet, but I've noticed the noise levels increasing and I feel that in another 4000 miles it might be unbearable. During the winter, this tire is downright unsafe. Unless you are driving incredibly slowly and don't turn much, you'll be risking your life every time you leave the house. My Eclipse is FWD, and yet I can't start moving at stoplights. Just today while driving home, a Jeep in front of me slammed on the brakes for some reason, and I just tapped on them to start slowing down, and I just started going sideways. Only going about 35 mph on a plowed and sanded road and I just spun out. The snow will get into the tiny grooves in these tires and turn them into slicks. (Pun intended)
I honestly do not feel safe driving in the winter with these tires, and if you were intending to use them mostly as a summer tire, well chances are you'll probably be disappointed in that field aswell.

...Lastly, these tires have ok traction in the dry, but horrible traction on damp/wet/snowy roads.
Tires seemed good at first, they held together well for the first 5 months or so, then after that, all 4 started to fall apart. The sides of the tires started cracking apart which caused two of the tires to start leaking. Then they also started to bulge and deform near the rims too. It seems I wasted about $400 on these tires. I will certainly be trying a different tire company from now on. I DO NOT RECOMMEND these tires. Lastly, these tires have ok traction in the dry, but horrible traction on damp/wet/snowy roads.
