The Weatherflex GT is Hankook's Grand Touring All-Season tire developed for drivers of crossovers, sedans, coupes, and wagons looking for a capable mix of dry and wet traction and confident wintry weather stability, designed to harmonize four season performance. The Weatherflex GT is designed as an all-weather tire to meet industry severe snow service requirements qualifying for the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol alongside its all-season performance.
The Weatherflex GT utilizes a next generation rubber compound incorporating high levels of grippy resin and silica for surefooted control and enhanced traction across a range of surfaces and year-round weather conditions. The compound is molded into an asymmetric tread pattern with chamfered tread blocks, enhancing block rigidity for improved handling. This pattern is designed to get years of mileage, and reduce irregular wear, while still maximizing traction. By optimizing the tread blocks’ positioning to deaden noise and taking advantage of multi-pitch sequencing, the Weatherflex GT is designed to run quieter and keep tonal variety to a minimum. 3D GripKontrol™ sipes create biting edges for grip in slippery conditions without compromising dry stability. Wide shoulders offer reliable dry road cornering and flow smoothly into the sweeping, lateral grooves to sweep water and slush from the contact patch.
The Weatherflex GT's internal construction features a dual-ply polyester casing supporting two steel belts. The dual-ply polyamide reinforcement aids in handling performance and provides high-speed durability.
Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.
