The Track Attack Pro is Hoosier's Streetable Track & Competition tire designed for the drivers of sports cars, hot hatches, and supercars who are looking for motorsports levels of traction and handling for track day events in a tire that can still be driven on the street to and from the event. Tuned for maximum performance in warm, dry and damp conditions, the Track Attack Pro is not intended to be serviced, stored, nor driven in near- and below-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

Hoosier Track Attack Pro callouts

Continuing Hoosier's dedication to pushing the limits of speed, the Track Attack Pro utilizes the company's latest high-performance compound with H-DNA Technology, derived from their long history of developing motorsports tires. Formed into an asymmetric tread pattern with a broad outboard shoulder for maximum lateral grip, the wide-ribbed, low-void tread pattern puts more rubber on the road in the contact patch to maximize straight-line acceleration. A trio of circumferential grooves allow water to flow through the footprint to resist hydroplaning, though standing water may still present challenges, so drivers should take care and drive cautiously at reduced speeds in these conditions.

The internal construction of the Track Attack Pro is designed for optimized durability and maximum handling response. The three-ply polyamide casing sits beneath two wide, high-strength steel belts, which help stabilize the footprint. The extra-reinforced quad-ply polyamide sidewall provides the additional rigidity needed for superior control and enhanced reactions.

Hoosier A7 Reviews

Customers think the Hoosier A7 delivers outstanding dry traction, with autocrossers and track drivers praising its "glue-like" grip, precise turn-in, and consistent performance across heat cycles. Many report shaving seconds off lap times and achieving podium finishes, noting improved durability over previous Hoosier models when properly managed with camber adjustments and tire flipping. Wet traction receives mixed feedback-adequate in light rain but prone to hydroplaning in standing water, though most users avoid wet conditions entirely given the tire's competition focus. Treadwear concerns emerge with reports of cording after 45-80 runs depending on driving style and maintenance, though some achieve multiple seasons through careful heat cycle management. While price is a frequent pain point, enthusiasts argue the performance gains justify the cost for serious competitors.

50 reviews mention "Dry Traction"

  • 50 positive
  • 0 negative

Customers overwhelmingly praise the Hoosier A7's dry traction, with most scoring 9s and 10s for its "massive grip," "predictable cornering," and "face-melting" acceleration/braking. Reviewers highlight exceptional consistency across heat cycles, shaving seconds off lap times in autocross and track use. Many note they heat up quickly for immediate peak performance, with precise steering and stability at the limit. While some mention aggressive camber requirements for optimal wear, the A7's sticky compound and responsive handling make it a top choice for competitive drivers seeking maximum dry performance.

...I could not be happier with them as they've raised my game beyond all expectations. I highly recommend them in the widest size that will fit on your wheels and car!!...

These tires need at least -3 deg. neg. camber at the front and I run -2.2 at rear. If you run less camber than that you will wear out the outside edges prematurely. I use a 245/40/17 square set up just for AX, no big track work, and improved my previous best run time on Toyo 888's by 2.5 seconds. That's massive and very repeatable as long as you follow Hoosiers parameters for pressure, temp. and break in which I had Tire Rack do for me with their first heat cycle option before shipping. I now have 70+ heat cycles in these and still going strong. I usually run 34lb. front and 31lb. rear pressures, hot. That will vary based on your cars weight and geometry.
We're now at end of season with one more event to go, with Corvette Club. The other club I run with is Porsche Club which has a little larger turn out with more competitive drivers and I'm happy to say that I took first place at the last event of 69 cars in the open class, non Porsche, and sixth place overall including a few Porsche AX race cars.
I run Ohlins R&T coilovers, M3 front control arms, camber plates and these amazing A7 tires. I could not be happier with them as they've raised my game beyond all expectations. I highly recommend them in the widest size that will fit on your wheels and car!! They do tend to run wide for any given size so you may need to pull and or roll the fender openings. Well worth the price of admission!

Customers report unacceptable wet traction, with multiple reviews noting dangerous hydroplaning in standing water and slippery handling during rain. Several mention tires "turning into surfboards" above 45 mph in wet conditions, with poor grip leading to uncontrolled slides. While intended for dry track/autocross use, users express dissatisfaction with their mediocre wet performance when caught in rain.

...Traction was great in the dry, and still good in the wet, providing no standing water...

Even with my aggressive driving style the tires performed well in autocross. Traction was great in the dry, and still good in the wet, providing no standing water. This particular set only lasted me one season, because I didn't have the tires flipped on the rim's around mid-season and with my camber setting wore the inner edge of the tire to cords, but had plenty of rubber on outer edge; So tires would have probably gone a season and a half if properly maintained...All in all, I find A7's have a more consistent feel than other slicks and performance tires that I have tried (Z214's, PZero Trofeo R's).

39 reviews mention "Treadwear"

  • 17 positive
  • 22 negative

Several reviews express dissatisfaction with treadwear, noting rapid wear and premature cording, particularly on inner edges without mid-season flipping. Some reported needing replacement after just 45 autocross runs or a single season, citing faster degradation than expected despite proper camber setups. While grip remains praised, wear rates disappointed users expecting durability for track-focused use.

I normally get between 140 and 190 runs before the traction is shot or cords are showing. I bought the A7's this year because they were advertised to have a longer life than the A6's and only got 45 runs before cording the outsides of BOTH front tires...

I autocross 15-20 events / year and went from extreme performance summer tires to autocross race tires about 5 years ago. I've used mostly Hoosier A6's and the Hankook Z214's, and set up sufficient camber, run the recommended tire pressures, watch the temperatures, and flip the tires at about "half-life". I normally get between 140 and 190 runs before the traction is shot or cords are showing. I bought the A7's this year because they were advertised to have a longer life than the A6's and only got 45 runs before cording the outsides of BOTH front tires. I will not buy the A7's again, and will recommend against purchasing these tires to all racers.
