Very happy feel mor sure footed wet roads, dry road amazing

I had Cont. Extreme Contact Sport tires on my evo before I bought these. Got these to replace the semi slicks once they were showing wires, and have had nothing but a good experience with these tires. I have actively tried to break traction even in the rain, granted my car is awd, but I have had zero luck even in moderate to heavy rain.

Great tire! Especially for the price I paid! Has silica compound in the tire which is outstanding in wet weather! Smooth ride, great handling! What more could you ask for!

I very intentionally bought these for my 911 as something that wouldn't be too grippy, because I want to enjoy hustling a car at reasonable cornering speeds. They're exactly what I expect in that regard. In both the wet and dry, they're predictable and have the kind of grip you might expect from a tire this hard wearing with such small tread blocks. I find them pretty nice in heavy rain for a normal street tire.

The problem I have with them is how talky they are when I drive them in any kind of spirited way in the dry. They make so much squealing noise that it's kind of hard to have modest fun without drawing attention. I realize that this is not a use case for which they were expressly intended, but there you have it. If I could find something with a similar amount of grip, but didn't make it sound like I'm a getaway driver, that would be awesome.

Ive only had these on my car for about 500 miles or so, so its too soon to tell on a lot of what is expected from new tires however....
They are super sticky and have great traction, theres still some tread squirm but very predictable.
The tires are very responsive and i imagine once the tread squirm is gone they will be an awesome set of tires for cornering.
I drive aggressively and so far these tires have not let me down, they bite hard on launch and let me know when they are about to let loose.
I can not wait til they break in and the squirm is gone.
Theres no road noise I can hear and I am a pro musician that hears things others do not.
They are not overly harsh in ride quality either.
For the price and what you get, you cant go wrong, they even have a long treadlife

For the price, it's a solid tire for road warriors engaging in spirited driving. I have them on my GTI VR6, purchased after a big brake upgraded necessitated larger wheels. They're rather low profile wrapped around my BBS RC wheels, and ride quality suffers, especially with my stiff H&R suspension setup. But the car's not set up for comfort, it's set up for fun, and these tires deliver. Incredibly sticky while blasting through curves well into triple digit speeds on a summer day. Steering is precise and instant. The tires make zero complaint when reaching G limits in a fast, tight curve. Acceptable performance in the rain, but I've had a few sketchy experiences with them suddenly hydroplaning on Highway 680 either way between San Bruno and Daly City during heavy downpours.

Note that these tires do not like sitting. Car was in storage for a while and rarely driven between 2019 and 2024. Some of the tires deformed during this time, and there's a noticeable bump and vibration, especially on my rear right, even though tire pressure was maintained during downtime. This commonly happens though to sitting tires though, and I don't fault the tires for it.

Great tire; really comfortable, predictable/decently high grip levels and a quiet ride. They're a really good value.

Good solid tire for the money. Definitely not among the top performers from Continental or Michelin, nor do they inspire the same sense of confidence, but these Kumhos PA31s are very competent and capable under most circumstances. Wet weather performance is good enough to feel secure driving highway speeds, even in heavier rain. Also, these have proven themselves to be comfortable and quiet on most surfaces, exceeding Goodyear F1s and General Gmax RS I've had on the car previously. So yeah, overall, a good tire, especially for the money spent, and I'd buy them again (depending on the application).

I replaced a set of Dunlop Direzza 102 tires with the PS31 Kuhmo tire and it has been a night and day difference. The Kuhmo tires are extremely quiet, provide a very comfortable ride and are quite grippy as well. I did notice that the sidewall does seem a bit softer than other summer tires that I've had, but I would gladly take this trade-off with the comfort and quietness that these tires provide. Compared to the Dunlop tires, the Kuhmo's have an increased and noticeable amount of grip when cornering. In all, I feel like the PS31 is a perfect combination of comfort and performance, especially for those of us that spend a lot of time commuting, but also want a tire that can provide confidence and fun in cornering when the opportunity presents itself.

Great price compared to other high performance Summer tires. Replaced OEM Bridgestone S001 which were going on 8 years old but only 15000 miles. These have more visible tread so hoping wet performance will be better. Tire have higher tread wear rating so expect longer life. I went from 205 to 215 size with no rubbing issues (stock height car). Price was very competitive with the other tires I had on list of choices.

Shipped quickly to local Navarre Firestone installer. They had modern Hunter mounting equipment with no touch tire installation. Appointment was handled on time and was great.

I find the Kumho Ecsta PS31 to be a good budget performance tire that will support spirited driving on the street, and some hard driving on the track. I've installed these on a set of 16 inch wheels, and have used this combo on my car for about two years and 4000 Miles. For street use, these tires will have just about all of the dry grip you'll possibly need. For track use, these hold up to the abuse, but aren't quite in the league of a competitive performance tire as you would probably expect. With a treadwear rating of 460, the transfer of rubber to the pavement is not to the degree of other tires in the "Ultra-high Performance" tire category, such as Yokohama Advan, or Toyo Proxes, therefore will lack the grip of these others. The trade off would be that these tires will not wear down as fast as these competitors. They perform surprisingly well in the rain, even knocking my old Michelins out of the park in this category.

Bottom line: If you're a spirited driver who likes to blast through canyon roads every now an then, but don't want to worry about instability in rainy conditions, this tire would be a great match. If you participate in any sort of competitive driving, it would be best to go for something with a more aggressive compound.

I wouldn't consider this an ultra high performance summer tire, especially considering what the other examples in the class perform like. These tires are very vocal-- lots and lots of squealing when cornering, relatively numb steering response and feedback, and suboptimal wet performance. I was looking for a few qualities when buying this tire as I was readying to trade my BRZ in: I wanted an inexpensive summer tire that performed well, was quiet, and had a high treadwear rating. For the most part, these tires do exactly what I purchased them to do, however I am often just looking for a little bit more performance. I am thrilled with the price of these tires and the treadwear. The poor wet performance and the low limits in the dry (especially the poor steering response) are the main things I am disappointed in with this tire. I am often breaking traction when I don't want to. I have used the Firestone Indy 500s on previous cars and absolutely loved them, however I think I will give the General G-Max RS a try next.
