The Majesty 9 Solus TA91 EV is Kumho's Grand Touring All-Season tire designed for the drivers of electric vehicles (EVs), hybrid sedans and crossovers seeking a blend of effortless sophistication and motoring satisfaction. The Majesty 9 Solus TA91 EV was engineered with a focus on providing a quiet and luxurious experience without sacrificing confident grip and responsive handling in dry, wet, and wintry conditions, even in light snow.
An all-season compound augmented with silica reinforcement is molded into the Majesty 9 Solus TA91 EV's distinctive asymmetric tread pattern. The inboard elements of the tread were designed with a focus on wet traction and hydroplaning resistance, while the outboard section of the tread features less void area and stiffer blocks to deliver lateral stability and cornering traction. The chamfered edges of the blocks are specifically engineered to reduce sound, while the block pitch and orientation contribute to minimizing airborne noise. Additionally, the tire features four wide, circumferential grooves that effectively channel water away from the footprint, enhancing hydroplaning resistance. The sipes within the tread pattern work in conjunction with the all-season compound to ensure reliable traction even in slippery conditions, such as light snow and ice.
The internal construction of the Majesty 9 Solus TA91 EV consists of a two-ply, polyester casing that helps provide comfort and durability, and the asymmetric steel belts are reinforced by spirally-wound nylon to enhance handling and high-speed capability.
