The Solus TA71 is Kumho's Grand Touring All-Season tire developed for sporty coupes and luxury performance sedans and the people who love to drive them. Designed to combine responsive handling with quiet comfort, Solus TA71 tires deliver all-weather traction, even in light snow.
Solus TA71 tires feature Kumho's advanced nano silica compound that is engineered to disperse heat for extended treadlife and traction in cold temperatures. This compound is molded into an asymmetric tread design to create a contact area that promotes grip and steering response in any weather. Four wide grooves evacuate water to promote wet traction and resist hydroplaning while precisely angled snow sipes create tiny gripping edges that are fine-tuned for traction on cold, slick surfaces.
Kumho's ESCOT Casing Technology optimizes sidewall cord tension distribution to promote steering response and treadlife. The tire's internal structure features twin steel belts reinforced with spirally wrapped nylon to enhance high-speed stability. Use of jointless bead bundles help isolate bumps and vibration for a smoother, quieter ride.

...These are well worth Money spent... These work as good as I remember...
As a reviewer of Kumho tires before and absolutely loved them, I bought a new set of these tires, I Did not actually get these from tire rack But I thought my review should be on here.. I bought these in May 2021 and just did my 1st rotation, and as usual with My experiences with these Kumho tires in the past, they were perfect. No wear and Kumho most of read the complaints from before due to tire noise Because these are QUIET!!! I am so impressed with how well these perform. Now as I said I put these on in May 2020,I have no data on snow or ice,but as for dry and rain, these work as good as I remember... These are well worth Money spent. Yes you can buy a better tire but I prefer to spend my money on QUALITY over a bigger NAME.. Because you will not be disappointed. Update to follow

...Comfortable, quiet and thread life is excellent...
Got these tires in 2016, put 50k miles on it. They are great. Comfortable, quiet and thread life is excellent. They are very good in winter on my AWD car but after 50k miles i need to get a new set just because of upcoming winter. There is STILL thread left on it but not quite enough for next winter. Am super happy with price / performance combo. Would def get these again.

...They provide an extremely comfortable ride with excellent traction in dry and wet conditions. In terms of noise, these may be the quietest set of tires that I've ever purchased...
I'm 7,000 miles in with these tires. They provide an extremely comfortable ride with excellent traction in dry and wet conditions. In terms of noise, these may be the quietest set of tires that I've ever purchased. I put in a lot of highway miles so that is a feature that I can appreciate. I would definitely purchase these tires again.

Winter traction ratings show concerning inconsistency, with many scores between 0-5 for ice/snow performance. While some rate 7-8, frequent reports of slippery conditions and unstable handling suggest this all-season tire struggles in its intended winter use.

...Had fine winter / show performance for first winter, but could not stop car on snow after tires were a year old...
Purchased tires in autumn before snowfall. Had fine winter / show performance for first winter, but could not stop car on snow after tires were a year old. Tires were regularly rotated. Got rid on them pretty quick during second winter - switched to Yokohama Avid Ascent GT and have had no repeats of problem.

...So at about 50% life you lose wet, hydroplaning, and especially snow traction GREATLY...
Tires handled great when new, kinda noisy, chopped quickly, especially compared to the continental extreme contacts I had previously biggest complaint is that 60% of the tire looks bald at 6-7mm tread. Edges have deep sipes however the inside 3 bands look bald as though the sipes arent cut deep enough. So at about 50% life you lose wet, hydroplaning, and especially snow traction GREATLY. Also Ive never had a tire blow out in my life until owning these Kuhmos, in which Ive had 2 blow out after hitting potholes near my work, that Ive hit in NUMEROUS cars being a technician and it being on my test drive route.

While some customers rate treadwear highly (9s/10s), a concerning number report premature wear and dissatisfaction. Scores between 0-6 highlight rapid wear, excessive wear, and early replacements-disappointing for a Grand Touring All-Season tire.

...Worn out at 17,000 miles of average driving on my old 1995 Mercury. Regular rotation and tire pressure checks, alignment adjusted. The V feeling disappeared years ago from this tire...
I just spent a half hour looking for the screen to review this tire so I could warn others about these tires. Worn out at 17,000 miles of average driving on my old 1995 Mercury. Regular rotation and tire pressure checks, alignment adjusted. The V feeling disappeared years ago from this tire. I just can't believe the ratings I read about these tires. Save your money, or pay a little more. I now have chunks of rubber flying off. Divots in the tire. Four years old...I only drive 4,000 miles a year. I bought these based on the ratings I read here and trying to warn others don't believe everything you read here. I have Coopers on my 2005 Mustang and they are the way to go. I was looking for Coopers here but I guess not carried here for this size and speed rating. If you can, go by friends recommendations...not what you read here. Shocking how I am reading about owners getting 30k+ miles out of these tires. Impossible.

...The tread wear is just as bad. Never buy these unless you like loud whirling noises and a rough ride on bad tread wear tires.
These are the worse tires ever. They are so loud when driving faster than 40mph that its hard to hear the radio. The tread wear is just as bad. Never buy these unless you like loud whirling noises and a rough ride on bad tread wear tires.

...My tires were completely worn out at 20000 miles. They were so worn out that you can see the seam on the tires. The seam is on the tread the entire width of tire...
The Kuhmo Solus TA71 is a terrible tire. It is rated at 60000 miles. My tires were completely worn out at 20000 miles. They were so worn out that you can see the seam on the tires. The seam is on the tread the entire width of tire. It almost looks like a cut all across tire. I wish I could attach a picture, the tire looks so bad I thought it might blow out. I first thought it was a cut tire but all the tires were starting to do the same thing. I would have replaced tires even sooner but the tire place said one of the tires was not completely down to the tread wear indicator. That was at 18000 miles. Also the tires made the car shimmy and vibrate horribly when coming to a stop. I had thought my rotors were getting warped, and never thought about the vibration coming from the tires. The reason is that the car barely vibrated at speed. It only vibrated when coming to a stop. With new tires the vibration is now gone. The vibration stated to happen with about 8000 miles on the tires. They are really low quality tires. When I bought the tire I did not realize that the tires have no rim protection at all. If you barely touch a curb your rims will get scratched. I touched a curb going through a drive through and it scratched up one of my rims. Buying tires twice costs a lot of money. The tire place prorated the tires for the early wear out. However it still cost a lot of money for replacement. I had to pay for installation, valve stems, TPMS rebuild kit, disposable fee, and alignment. That cost me $500.00, and my time. I think tire stores are happy if your tires wear out early even if they have to prorate the tires. They get to recharge you for everything when they replace them, plus make a profit on the new tires they sell you. I had bought a 60000 mile tire so I would not have to deal with tire replacement for a long time, boy was I wrong. However to only get a third of its rated life means it is absolutely junk.

Will the Kumho Solus TA71 Move to the Head of This Grand Touring All-Season Class? - Winter Update(02:31)
Remember the guy in high school who seemed to be good at everything? Grand Touring All-Season Tires are expected to be that guy. But tires from this category are not specialized enough to be the best in any one subject. So to be a success, they need to at least stand out across the board (including in winter's snow, slush and ice).
Is one of the four tires in this test the perfect fit?
