The Latitude Tour HP ZP (Zero Pressure technology) is Michelin's Crossover/SUV Touring All-Season run-flat tire developed for the drivers of premium crossover and sport utility vehicles that offers temporary extended mobility (up to 50 miles at 50 mph) in the event a puncture results in complete air loss.Used as Original Equipment by BMW, Latitude Tour HP ZP tires are designed to combine run-flat confidence and comfort with handling and all-season traction, even in light snow.
The Latitude Tour HP ZP features an all-season tread compound molded into a symmetric pattern that helps balance dry, wet and wintertime traction. Stable shoulder blocks and a continuous center rib boost responsiveness and highway stability, while wide circumferential grooves help resist hydroplaning and 2-D Active Sipes improve handling in rain and snow.
The tire's internal structure features twin steel belts reinforced with Michelin FAZ Technology (Filament At Zero degrees) that winds polyester and aramid/nylon cords spirally under the tread area to provide a stable feel and crisp steering, while polyester cord reinforced sidewalls enhance ride quality.
Sidewall reinforcement using low hysteresis rubber provides self-supporting strength at zero pressure, helps combat sidewall damage, and maintains cool temperatures to allow longer zero pressure driving while a special bead design helps tires stay securely seated on conventional rims.
NOTE: While Crossover/SUV Touring All-Season light truck tires offer all-season versatility including traction in light snow, tire sizes featuring extremely wide tread widths may limit the traction this type of tire can provide in deep snow.

Tires were good in dry an wet traction...
Tires were good in dry an wet traction. At 20k miles poor stopping ability in light snow. Very harsh ride. went to non-run-flat Pirelli Ice and Snow winter tires. Smoother ride. Will go with non-run-flat Continental crosscontact LX 20 in spring.

...After the tires wore down, wet & snow traction significantly diminished, but that's of course to be expected with any tire...
Great tires, 40,000 miles already and still have about 20% of tread remaining. The tires are still quite, smooth, and have no vibrations. The wear is even on all 4 tires. Dry road feel is equivalent to when tires were new. After the tires wore down, wet & snow traction significantly diminished, but that's of course to be expected with any tire. Overall, couldn't be more pleased and will most likely re-purchase again.

...My current set has 60k on them and I wouldn't be changing them if it wasn't such a icy snowy winter...
I just ordered my third set of these tires and honestly I TRUST them. My current set has 60k on them and I wouldn¿t be changing them if it wasn¿t such a icy snowy winter. I¿ve had 3/4 tires patched and never had a issue afterwards. I¿ve driven with one flat over 30 miles and parked it overnight till I could fix it in the morning. I drive a diesel so I don¿t know if these tires are loud, I¿ve never noticed them. I¿ve had my fair share of road rage so I¿m really surprised about all the reviews saying the tread life was low... my first set was used mostly in city. My second set was used on mud, gravel, dirt roads, highway, country, and city.

...With full and half tread they were competent tires for spirited driving in all-season conditions...
These OEM lasted about 36k miles. With full and half tread they were competent tires for spirited driving in all-season conditions. Unfortunately, the tread life is not what I would expect for an all-season tire, being more one par with a high-performance summer tire, but without the extreme handling performance. This may be attributable to the run-flat technology, but regardless, the tires are pricey enough to warrant better tread wear. Snow and ice handling is passable, but not as good as typical Michelin all-seasons I have experienced. This tire seems to be biased on the sport side more than the all-season side, which is unfortunate if you opted for all-season tires in order to avoid a seasonal tire change for snowy climates. It's difficult for me to say how much of the faults are due to the run-flat nature vs. tread compound and design of this specific tire. Since my vehicle has the emergency spare tire I am considering the non-run-flat version of this tire, along with other brands.
I should note that although this current set of tires lasted about 36k miles, my X5 has had a total of 43k miles worth of experience with this Michelin ZP tire model. The reason being: The first set of these had a balancing issue which the BMW dealer initially addressed by rebalancing. This worked for a while but then the tires went out of balance again. There was no curb or pothole damage to blame and the suspension was in proper alignment. At approximately 7k miles the tires could not be balanced within BMW spec so the dealer replaced all four tires. I was very surprised to experience this from a Michelin tire, and being my first run-flat experience, it certainly endeared me even less to run-flats.

...The tires performed great on dry pavement and even on wet pavement...
This OEM run flat tire wore like iron and gave me 44000 miles. I did rotate and balance tires tires every 5K to 6K with an alignment every year which probably helped with the mileage. I did not expect this mileage from these tires with all the bad reviews. Only bad things about this tire were the noise and rough ride after 30K and the poor snow traction. The tires performed great on dry pavement and even on wet pavement. I have recently replaced the run flats with a set of Michelin Latitude Tour HP 255/55R 18 non run flat tires. Since I do have a spare, it made sense to replace the RFs with non RFs. The new tires have 1100 miles and drive and handle as well as the RF but without the excessive noice.

...Reasonable comfort; less than average noise.
Purchased run-flat tires to return the vehicle to the configuration as originally equipped. After 15,000 miles on these tires, I am very pleased with the performance in all conditions. Treadwear so far barely noticeable. Reasonable comfort; less than average noise.

This is the second set of these tires. The first set lasted for 65,000 miles and true fully I could have gone another 10K but I would rather be on the safe side. I do rotate the tires about every 6000 miles, a pain but it keeps the tires from uneven wear, and accounts for the longevity of the tires. The run flats are a bit harder ride, but worth it.

Most of you may find this difficult to believe, but I have driven 91,000 miles on these original tires. Three (3) of the 4 tires have been patched. The Thread is roughly about 70% worn and based on just a visual look at the tire I can easily get to the 100,000+ mile mark on all 4 tires.

Needless to say I am considering replacing the tires and my only consideration is to replace with the same exact tires. These tires have delivered to me 91,000 miles and it works for me so no need changing them.
My driving style is easy going. I would say that roughly 70,000 of the 91,000 miles have been highway miles taking the family to Boston, Florida, Virginia and driving frequently to my job weekly in DC. I live in NJ. I treat my car with care; no sudden stops, no fast starts and I go around corners without much tilt on the vehicles. Once in a while I go for a thrill drive and put the car in sports mode and go for it.
These tires are great. I would recommend them. I am not affiliated with Michelin or any other interests. Just love these tires because they have delivered 91,000 miles and are still in good conditions besides being patched.

...These tires have performed well and I've racked up 48K miles before now replacing them with the same tires...
Michelin Latitude Tour HP runflats came standard on my 2015 X5. These tires have performed well and I've racked up 48K miles before now replacing them with the same tires. I looked at other options including the Pirelli Scorpion and Continental Conticontact models. While these other tires seem to rate higher in some areas including snow handling, the downside was a much shorter life span that seems to average in the 20K mile range. The price of the Michelins is the biggest drawback, coming in at around $1500 for a set with installation. With the safety factors involved with a tire purchase, I'm willing to spend more to get the best option for my family.
