Michelin  Latitude Tour HP

Needed to replace set of Latitude Tours with which I was very happy. Could not get the Tours again since Michelin no longer made them with the required load rating, Sales person recommended Defenders instead which I purchased. After 3 attemps at rebalancing and an uncomfortable and jittery ride (but very good gas mileage), I replaced the Defenders with Latitude Tour HPs.

What a difference. The ride is much more comfortable and the overall control is much better. Feel confident cornering as well as in wet weather. Haven't tried it in the snow as of yet but I'm not too concerned since I use 4 winter tires anyway. The mileage may be a little worse (<1 mpg) and I've read that they will probably not last quite as long. Believe me, the trade offs are well worth it. My CR-V feels like a different SUV!!

Nice quiet tire. Excellent dry traction and very good traction in water/light snow. Deep snow it they have good traction. The ride on the highway is smooth and quiet. I cannot complain about their ability to handle my 4500lb vehicle in the weather of Northern Indiana. They don't handle the winter like am ice and snow tire, but they do a more than adequate job and I can leave them on year round. I would buy the tire again.

OEM for my MDX, It pairs pretty well with the SH-AWD. I am actually surprised that there is an OEM tire that works very good at everything. It is very good in DRY, WET and SNOW. Wife drove it in a blizzard and she came away impressed. Now I am not really sure if it is entirely because of the tires or just because the SH-AWD is a better system. What I know is that this tires is very quiet and comfortable. Little soft on turns but still confident. Now Winter conditions, Light to moderate snow it will plow through it with predictable slide from time to time. Have not driven it on heavy snow as of yet. Driven by my Brother in Law to NJ from Boston and he came away impressed of the Car's overall quiet and comfortable ride. Again, I cannot solely attribute it to the tires but also of the MDX's suspension. As I have said. This tire pairs pretty well with the MDX

These tires came stock on my Volvo XC60 and have been perfect. Traction is better than any all season tire I have had on any car I've owned. I feel rest assured when my wife I'd out in winter conditions that she won't be sliding into a ditch our into another car. Our driveway is somewhat step, and this tires grab in the snow enough to get the car up to the garage at the top (the car is AWD, so take that into consideration also). Treadwear had been outstanding, and with 48k miles on them I judge I well easily get through this coming winter and next summer (about 15k more miles) before I need to replace them before going into winter 2016-17. Given my experience,I will be buying these again for this car.

This is my 2nd set for the Latitude Tour HP. I upgraded the size, and have never looked back. They have been super on 3" of ice snow combo popular in the Mid Atalntic area. Wet traction has been superior. Dry braking is excellent, Road noise is so far reduced from the OF tire that I thought they were underinflated.
Life has been 50K+ with a combo of Hwy and city driving. Rotation at 5/9K keeps them in service a long time. I would recomend these to anyone looking for a all season tite that will handle anything 95% of SUVs are used for.

*I don't have experience with other tires, so My Rating is based on my expectations of a All Season Tire and how it performs when I push it*

Dry:
- Very smooth, quiet, great Grand Touring tire.
- Great for Family Sedan / SUV, not intended for sporty driving.
- Reaches cornering limit very predictably.
- Handles very high speeds easily and predictably.
- Emergency Braking from 60mph to 10mph within 2 white lines on the highway (4,200lbs car).

Wet:
- Driving through a rain storm at very high speeds is smooth and predictable (when tread is new).
- Emergency Braking from 60mph to 10mph within 2.5 to 3 white lines on the highway (4,200lbs car).
- Can screech when cornering hard on wet roads (not recommended).

Snow:
- Exceeds my expectations on wet snow, packed snow, powder.
- Drove through the Appalachian Gap during a snow storm without problems (V6 with 4WD)
- Un-tested on pure ice... I would expect great performance based on my experience with slick snowy conditions.
- I recommend this tire for winter driving ONLY IF: 1) You are experienced with driving in snow and 2) If you have 4WD/AWD systems (for climbing hills and getting out of snow)... 3) Only drive in the City, and 4) You don't drive in snow all the time.
- I would NOT recommend this tire for winter IF: 1) You only have FWD 2)If you're scared of driving in the snow, 3) You don't understand how to correct the constant shifts in traction through snow.

Summary:
I know some reviews talk about increased road noise after a few years, but so far this tire has definitely exceeded my expectations for my ride (Intended as a weekend, grand touring, mountain / ski trip car)

I would highly recommend.

This was the OEM tire that came with my 2011 Acura MDX off the lot. The tires handled very well, low road noise, great dry traction, above average wet traction, and I would say average snow/ice traction. I expected better performance. Noticeable step down in snow/ice performance from my prior vehicle, Chevy Trailblazer which had a more aggressive tire (Firestone Destination A/T) - though really not a fair comparison. The Lattitude definitely had a firm ride where you felt most cracks/bumps in the road. Overall I was pleased with the tire - 52,000 miles on an AWD vehicle is about all you can ask for, but couldn't bring myself to pay $300+/tire to replace them. I went with Toyo Versado CUV for about $160/tire. Only 2,000 miles on them but they seem very comparable and have gotten good reviews.

The original set of Latitude Tours lasted 52,000 so when I saw these on special on Tire Rack I snagged a pair. I must say I am very pleased. These are the perfect tires for the 10-13 MDX. They are very quiet, have excellent traction in all weather and have fantastic steering response. Even in the worst of rain I couldn't break them even slightly loose. They mounted and balanced out perfectly and even with 8000+ miles I feel no balance issues which to me is a very big deal.

We just had a third set installed on our almost 8-yr old Cayenne after 44,000 miles. The first set lasted close to 45,000 miles. Very reliable tires, comfortable and completely trouble-free save for a couple of nail punctures. OEM tire on this vehicle with N0 designation. I highly recommend them.

I replaced OEM Continentals with this tire. The Continental was a very good tire for me but the ride and comfort of this tire is awesome.

This Michelin Latitude Tour HP (235-50-R18) has performed well for an OEM tire. After three years and 34,000 miles, significant tread still remains above the wear bars. I expect 45,000 miles or more, which is not bad for a tire with 360 wear rating. I'm meticulous about tire pressure and we rotate every 7,000 miles or so. This tire has minimal tread noise and a comfortable ride. It's not a stellar performer in snow and ice, but we haven't had any significant issues that would motivate us to replace the tire early. Unfortunately, I couldn't buy the same replacement tires even if I wanted to because Michelin doesn't make this tire in this size any more.

These tires came on a new 2014 Infiniti QX60 that I leased in December 2013. We had a 39 month lease with 15k/year mileage allowance. The QX60 is an AWD car that's roughly 4100 lbs. This was my wife's car...while i put maybe 20% of the almost 49,000 miles on it..both of us are pretty "spirited" drivers.

We had 46k miles on the car right before lease turn-in and decided to take a last minute trip that would add roughly 2000 more miles to the car. I figured that when the appraiser came prior to turn-in that he would tell me that the car needed tires...so why not throw another 2000 miles on them for a 6 day trip. Went thru some heavy rain at one point and the tires performed just a they always had. Appraiser came a few days before turn-in and to my surprise the tires were still at 4/32 in the front and 5/32 in the rear! I actually could have driven these through the summer and replaced before winter....guessing they would have hit 2/32 at maybe 55k miles...unbelievable!

I've never had a tire go that long...on any car...much less an SUV. We rotated every 7500 miles at oil changes and that's about it...nothing special. Not sure if these are available for sedans but I would loom for these first for an SUV...clearly worth a little extra money if that's the case.

These tires came new on our Ford Edge, and they have been great. We have had milder winters over the last 3 years and little opportunity to see how well they perform in deep snow. They seem to perform well on wet pavement. But the most surprising is how well they have worn. With 66,000 miles on them, the tread life has at least 10K miles left in them. I am definitely replacing them with the same tire.

67k on this set and still about 1/3 tire life remaining. Replaced Pirelli Scorpions, which were OE on the X3. The Pirellis were shot at 55k.

Over the full life of the Pirelli's the X3 averaged 21-22mpg, and since putting on the Michelins the fuel economy has increased almost 10%. This is not comparing a bald Pirelli to a new Michelin, but truly over the life of the tire.

With these tires the X3 drives like it's on rails, with outstanding grip and traction in varying conditions. We routinely drive up to OH, PA, NY, and other areas with rougher winter weather. These tires have consistently performed beautifully in the worst conditions, including snow and ice.

I couldn't possibly justify looking into any other tire for the X3. My wife tells me that she's starting to feel the steering wheel pull in puddles now that they're near the end of their life, but the performance is still much better than the Pirellis they replaced.

Only gave 8 on ice and comfort because I know studded tires would do much better on ice, and regarding comfort the early years of the X3 had a pretty stiff suspension, which makes this hard to judge. Incredibly quiet though.
