Michelin  Pilot Sport Legends S819

The Pilot Sport Legends S819 is Michelin's Racetrack and Autocross Only tire, purpose-built to meet the unique demands of classic racing vehicles. It's engineered to provide stable dry handling, consistent lap performance, high levels of grip, and the durability needed to complete competitive sessions with confidence.

Developed to the specifications of historic Le Mans Prototype (LMP1 and LMP2) vehicles, the Pilot Sport Legends S819 combines a specialized tread compound with a race-bred architecture for extended durability and precise feedback. Its design promotes powerful traction and rapid warm-up, allowing the tire to quickly reach optimal operating temperature and perform at its peak throughout competition.

If you use a heater cabinet or tire warmers: the maximum heating temperature must not exceed the internal rolling temperature of the tires. Above this temperature, the properties of the rubber can change and thus degrade performance. The minimum warm-up time is 45 minutes to reach stabilization. The maximum heating time is 2 hours (beyond this, there is a risk of the rubber changing).

Michelin Pilot Sport Legends S819 tires do not meet DOT requirements, and are not appropriate for roadway use. Michelin Pilot Sport Legends S819 tires are not intended for driving in wet conditions where standing water is present and there is the risk of hydroplaning; drivers should drive cautiously at reduced speeds if they encounter these conditions. Like all Racetrack & Autocross Only tires, Pilot Sport Legends S819 tires are not intended to be serviced or driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice. It's essential these tires be stored indoors according to Michelin recommendations.

On Storage: Tires must not be subject to:

• Direct and prolonged exposure to sunlight
• Sources of extreme heat and humidity
• Solvents, lubricants, fuels and other chemicals
• Ozone emissions from equipment such as a transformer, welder, electric motor, etc.
• Long-term storage in a stack.

Non-compliance with these storage recommendations may significantly reduce the period over which the tire retains its performance. The storage location must be dry, ventilated, out of direct light and kept solely for tires. Racks allowing tires to be stored vertically are to be used in order to avoid tension on the casings.

Note on Tire Aging: Michelin recommends using Michelin Competition tires within a maximum of 24 months following their date of purchase (within 4 months in the event of storage in severe tropical- type conditions) or within 12 months for wet tires.
