The Ridge Grappler is Nitto's Rugged All-Terrain tire developed for drivers of SUVs, Jeeps, and pickup trucks seeking a stylish, capable, and durable off-road tire that can be reasonably driven in towns and highways in-between their adventures.
The Ridge Grappler's durable compound is molded into a symmetric tread pattern featuring robust reinforced tread blocks with tapered edges which optimize surface contact for competent dry grip. Variable pitch tread blocks of slightly different sizes reduce road noise for enhanced on-road comfort. Step block edges and staggered shoulder lugs combine for advantageous grip characteristics across many all-terrain environments. The Lateral zig-zag patterned Z grooves promote efficient water evacuation to the shoulder notches, while sipes in the tread blocks assist hydroplaning resistance and wet traction on paved surfaces. A high void ratio and multitudinous biting edges deliver confident traction in light snow.
Internal Construction of the Ridge Grappler includes a two-ply reinforced polyester casing for durability and ride comfort. Two high-tensile steel belts offer a sturdy foundation for even load distribution across the footprint. Two nylon reinforcement plies further stabilize the tread for high-speed handling and durability.
As with all Grappler tires, each Ridge Grappler tire features two unique sidewall designs. One side is more traditional while the other features a more aggressive block design.

...Have driven is serious rain here as well, no issues, only loss of traction was through deep puddles...
This is my first set of off-road tires, I come from a performance street car background. I could not believe how smooth the tires were. I was expecting Bogger like sound and vibrations (not really). These tires replaced factory rims with Michelin Defenders. I could not be happier. I live in Florida and have had them on the truck for just over 1 year. They are on my daily driven 2nd Gen. I did notice the steering was a bit less responsive and sluggish over the factory tires (to be expected).
Have driven is serious rain here as well, no issues, only loss of traction was through deep puddles.
I spent some time in some pretty serious sugar sand with them fully aired up, they did well. I aired them down I pulled another broken truck about 4 miles through various terrains with no issues.
Since then I also spent time in some fresh mud, they did great, no complaints and with some conscious driving still haven't been stuck.
Not much serious trailering time, I have done about 1k miles with a 4x8 utility 2k lbs. Its not much of a load but no complaints.
Last note, wear has been minimal 1 year in, dont notice any real loss of depth. They have held up great.
If you are on the fence, stop thinking about it, hit buy now and you wont be disappointed. I will definitely be getting them again.

Second set now w 50 k. Very quiet when new but road noisy when worn. To be expected. Both set have worn very well. Good traction in rain, snow and off road. Must keep balanced and rotated. Soon to buy 3rd set.

...The dry braking was very good, dry traction was OK, i found myself leaving my truck in 4auto because the tires would frequently break free pulling into traffic, especially if there was a little sand in the road...
These tires looked great and were very quiet. These came highly recommended as "best of the best." The dry braking was very good, dry traction was OK, i found myself leaving my truck in 4auto because the tires would frequently break free pulling into traffic, especially if there was a little sand in the road. The main issue I had with the tires was the wet traction. These were absolutely terrible in the rain I felt like they could break loose at any time I was nervous and could not drive with any confidence in the rain. It was difficult to not spin the tires from a stop even if there was only a little condensation on the roads. Snow traction was better than wet but not very good - packed snow didn't offer much traction, in unpacked snow I could not maintain my track. I had to replace the tires as I approached 40k miles due to the treadwear. I thought all these symptoms were the nature of the beast being my first experience in a pickup with larger off-road tires, but my replacement tires same size from a different brand are night and day and inspire confidence in all conditions - I would not recommend Ridge Grapplers for anything but strictly off road adventures.

Cool looking tire for sure but the performance on wet roads especially is pretty poor...
Cool looking tire for sure but the performance on wet roads especially is pretty poor. I’ve now had these tires for about 40k miles and they’re just ok. Highway driving is a little noisy but not bad. I’ve also never been able to get them properly balanced either by the dealer or other mechanics. So my alignment is off by a little bit. For the price of this tire I expected better performance but it’s all good.

...The traction on multiple types of terrain and treadwear has been great.

Excellent tread wear. Replacing them now at 50,000 and still would pass safety inspection. Tires are 7 years old and road noise has increased significantly since new. This is due to age of tire hardening and wear. Definitely the quietest road noise for this aggressive of a tire.
