Pirelli pushes the performance envelope with the P6000. A totally innovative, freshly patented "new wave" tread design which incorporates an almost continuous, and therefore exceptionally stable, tread block running from the center to the shoulder of the tire, separated by elliptical water clearing channels running across the tread area. Born in CAD/CAM experiments, this unique tread design combines tread block stability with wet weather safety while minimizing noise generation. Pirelli's warranty does not cover tires that develop compound cracking due to use in ambient temperatures below 45° Fahrenheit (7° Celsius), so the P6000, like all summer tires, is not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.
With the latest generation of silica based compounds, Pirelli technologists have solved the problem of mixing silica and black fillers with synthetic polymers to provide exceptional low rolling resistance and high wet grip.
The "unseen invention" of Pirelli, the P6000 casing has been specifically designed to reduce weight and to amplify the attributes of the new tread pattern and compound combination. Reduced unsprung masses, reduced rolling resistance, enhanced comfort and up to 186 mph (300 km/hr) performance in one technological package.

Customer surveys indicate the Pirelli P6000 delivers excellent dry traction (scores 8-10 dominate), with consistent praise for confident cornering and responsive handling in dry conditions. Wet traction receives generally positive feedback (scores 7-8 common), though some users report reduced grip in heavy rain. Comfort presents mixed results-while a subset praises decent ride quality, many note harshness and excessive road noise (multiple 0-3 scores). Treadwear emerges as a key concern, with numerous low ratings (0-4 range frequent) citing premature wear despite the tire's summer performance focus. Owners prioritizing dry-road precision often overlook comfort tradeoffs, but longevity issues remain a recurring theme in feedback.

...Initially, the Pirellis were great. I just could not beleive the amount of grip. Almost impossible to break loose... Good in the rain too.
I just replaced my OEM Pirelli P6000s with Goodyear F1 GS/D3s. My stock Pirellis had about 15,000 miles. Initially, the Pirellis were great. I just could not beleive the amount of grip. Almost impossible to break loose. And I drove them very hard. At very high speeds (up to 130 mph) the tires are quiet and very stable. Good in the rain too. I have snow tires, so never tried them in snow.
Tires went downhill after 10K miles or so. Noise became very bad, a very loud whooing sound especially worse at cruising speeds (65 mph), though it went away at higher speeds (80+). Ride felt much harder, with some vibration, and tires tramlined like crazy, following every unevenness in the road to the point of being dangerous.
Fortunately I havent had bubbling problems as others have reported. But the quick deterioration of these tires made me look elsewhere.

Replaced a set of Michelins with the P6000's amd found that the steering responsiveness was much better. My only gripe is that in the wet I tend to spin the tyres a bit but I can forgive that as the Audi 100 avant is not a a light car and a fair bit of power is being applied. Braking in the wet is excellent

...Wonderful firm ride, great response, and inspire confidence, regardless of road conditions.
I love these tires. Now on my second set. Wonderful firm ride, great response, and inspire confidence, regardless of road conditions. Best tire I have tried, and great value for money. Living in Southern California, I have no need for an "all-weather" tire; if I go anywhere with snow, I'll take a 4X4. So why compromise? These tires were specifically designed for cars like mine, and not using them would be a waste.

These tires are great on dry surface... They hold really tight when driving around a corner at significant speeds...
These tires are great on dry surface and in the rain i have not had a problem. They hold really tight when driving around a corner at significant speeds but with the pot holes in the NE area its a serious problem. In my front tire i have sidewall damage and the spare has a softball sized bubble in the sidewall. The tires try to "drive" the car for you. If not on flat surface the tires tend to pull in every direction. They are noisy but then again they are low profile tires so its kind of expected. The comfort of the ride is ok, i mean you can feel every bump on the road and a minor pot hole feels like you drove through a crater. I would not purchase this tire again and would not suggest anyone else buys this tire especially if you live in a climate similar to Philadelphia.

Customers rate comfort between 7-10, praising smooth ride and low noise. Some note lower scores (0-6) citing road harshness, though high-performance use aligns with positive feedback.

...The ride is surprisingly comfortable on the highway and around town...
Good set of performance tires for the money. They will handle great through cornering at high speeds. With the AWD they just hold the road while boost is running. I had these on for the first snow storm in 2004 and the traction wasnt there but what can you expect from a performance tire in the snow? The ride is suprisingly comfortable on the highway and around town. Good all around performance tire for the slightly aggressive driver.

Customers report mixed treadwear experiences, with many scoring 0-5 indicating premature wear, while others rate 7-10 for durability in summer conditions. High variability suggests inconsistent performance across driving styles.

...However they wear out twice as fast as any other tire I have owned.
This is my second set of these tires and I must say that thier preformance has always been excellent; I corner on wet or dry roads much faster than any oter tires I have ever owned. They also allow my car to stop on a dime; excellent grip. However they wear out twice as fast as any other tire I have owned.

Good handling tire in both dry and wet. Not too noisy. Tread life seems to be below average. I generally get 35000 miles + on my Porsche 944's P700 ZR's. I have used Pirelli tires for 30 years.

Handling is acceptable, but treadwear and ride / noise are poor to very poor...
Handling is acceptable, but treadwear and ride / noise are poor to very poor. Plus, 3 of 4 tires have sidewall bubbles after 6k miles; clearly a defect in the tires design based upon reading how many others have experienced this problem. In my experience, Pirelli is totally unwilling to admit that this is an issue, and does not support their warranty. DO NOT (NO MATTER HOW TEMPTING IT MAY BE)BUY THESE TIRES.
