The Raptor HR is RIKEN's H-speed rated Grand Touring All-Season tire developed for the drivers of sedans, coupes, minivans and crossover vehicles. Designed as a sport-touring tire, the Raptor HR combines good handling performance with year-round traction in dry, wet and wintry conditions, including light snow.
Featuring an all-season tread compound molded into a symmetric design, the Raptor HR utilizes a continuous center rib for constant rubber-to-road contact that delivers solid on-center feel and steering response. Multiple lateral notches work in conjunction with the four wide, circumferential grooves to move water away from the contact patch and resist hydroplaning, while in-block sipes provide the biting edges needed to generate all-season traction.

...grip in the rain...
Shipping was fast, tires are great, made the ride comfort WAY better and grip in the rain. I do a lot of hilly backroad driving for the daily commute, so for the price I’d definitely buy these again.

I also hit a pool of water on the shoulder of the road and it channeled the water really well and no slippage...
I usually get the $600+ set of tires. These were about $89 each. I unexpectedly had to replace them and did not have $600. I was hoping that the positive reviews were true and went for it. I was completely surprised immediately how comfortable the ride was, like being on a cloud. Grip is extremely good. I also hit a pool of water on the shoulder of the road and it channeled the water really well and no slippage. I usually have the tires with the very fancy tread patterns and high mileage. I only have 500 miles but hope that it will last at least as long as the treadwear stated but so far so good. I was a bit concerned because I always go for the more well-known name brands but was pleasantly surprised and save a ton of money about half of what I normally would pay. Tires look great on my car also. You won't be disappointed. My third time buying on Tire Rack and I never left a review because those tires were good and to be expected because of the good reviews and the small fortune I paid BUT the discounted cost and great performance made me write this review because it could save someone money if they are unsure about this relatively unknown tire. I am good about tire rotations and wheel alignments so I expect these to last me awhile and even if treadlife is less than the more expensive tires I expect that I save $300 that can go toward another set of these. Only thing I would caution is going with the lesser known tires, if you have to replace one of them locally quickly, they may not be easy to find. If you can wait, then order another tire/s online and have it delivered. Hope this helps someone. Enjoying my new tires and especially more knowing that I got such a great deal.

...Rain driving is rock solid but respect the speed...
Do a large amount of interstate driving and I get really good wear on my tires. I stay up on rotation/balance/alignments and have not issues. They are very quiet compared to factory tires. 100% would recommend, but keep it easy in snow, the response is great in snow if you go slow, but nothing past slow. Rain driving is rock solid but respect the speed I do have an all time AWD, so that helps.

...In the few times I've driven them in snow they've gotten me everywhere I've needed to go with perfectly acceptible slippage and brakeing... I've never feared I wouldn't stop in time and I've made it up some decent snowy hills...
These tires have pleasantly surprised me. I dont have power steering and the inputs feel a little too light and unresponsive, but not enough to be dangerous or problematic. They handle pretty well in the dry and provide decent sportiness for a cheap all season, but it is nothing to blow me out of the water. In the wet and snow I have been very impressed. I have had no issues in the wet and they are very confidence inspiring. In the few times I've driven them in snow they've gotten me everywhere I've needed to go with perfectly acceptible slippage and brakeing. I don't have ABS so the braking performance is greatly impacted by my abilities, but I found that, assuming I left decent following distance, I've never feared I wouldn't stop in time and I've made it up some decent snowy hills. They're not perfect, but they're very impressive for the price.

...my priority was to choose tires with good handling and dry/wet traction without hydroplaning... I chose Riken Raptors, (subsidiary of Michelin) which had workable dimensions confirmed by TireRack's detailed specs, and ratings that met my requirements...
Our BMW e30 convertible isn't driven in winter; so my priority was to choose tires with good handling and dry/wet traction without hydroplaning. Online chat w/ TireRack confirmed that my priorities were complicated by limited choices in the OEM tire size (195/65r14). There were none of trusted brands and good ratings. My own research revealed this size (215/60r14) could fit without clearance issues. I chose Riken Raptors, (subsidiary of Michelin) which had workable dimensions confirmed by TireRack's detailed specs, and ratings that met my requirements. As with every previous TireRack purchase, my experience buying these Rikens, and their predicted performance, is excellent.

These tires provide a very comfortable ride, and no problems during wet weather. I am a little older so I like the ride and I do slow down a little in wet weather. Definitely buy them again. I have even recommended them to my friends. And the low price is terrific.

...Around 15k on them and they still look new...
Honestly these tires are pretty good. I ran them all over camping and traveling this year. Around 15k on them and they still look new. You know that feeling you have when you know you have good tires compared to knowing when you have bald tires. Yeah these tires give you that good feeling. I haven't noticed any noise. The tires do get a little light on traction when hard accelerating in rain but I think it's a normal amount. All in all, these have been a great tire for my platform.

Even with some extra weight of cargo causing faster tread wear on the rears, theses tires were excellent over 60k miles. And still good for 1 more mile snow season at the 70,000 on them when I got rid of the car. My wife’s Honda Pilot has them with the same results! I’ll be buying another set for my Subaru Forester before winter! HIGHLY recommend.
