The Raptor ZR A/S is RIKEN's Ultra High Performance All-Season tire developed for the drivers of sporty coupes and sport sedans looking to combine responsive steering and performance-focused handling with capability in inclement weather, even in very light snow.
The Raptor ZR A/S molds an all-season compound into an aggressive, directional tread design focused on providing traction in dry and wet conditions. The arrow-shaped pattern utilizes wide lateral grooves for efficient water evacuation and improved hydroplaning resistance. The tire sidewalls feature a rigid compound to help improve handling and steering response, while a built-in rim protector helps prevent damage to wheels.
The tire's internal construction consists of a two-ply polyester casing supporting two wide, steel belts. A two-ply nylon reinforcement aids handling and provides high-speed durability.

Wet traction earns strong praise (7-10 range) for reliable grip and hydroplaning resistance, though a few note reduced sharpness in heavy rain. Winter performance shows variability, with most users confident in light snow but reporting mixed results on ice and deeper snow. These tires look great, and get awesome traction in wet or dry conditions. I only had one incident of hydroplaning and that's only because I forced it to by exceeding the speed limit by 20 mph. Even then it was a slight pull to the right after hitting the puddle.
These tires look great, and get awesome traction in wet or dry conditions. I only had one incident of hydroplaning and that's only because I forced it to by exceeding the speed limit by 20 mph. Even then it was a slight pull to the right after hitting the puddle. I haven't been in too many icy conditions with these tires, but the past couple of months have been pretty icy. They get pretty good traction in the ice even though I wasn't using chains, cables, or Steel cleats. I didn't get it to break traction in the ice under normal driving and slightly under the speed limit, but you can feel it wouldn't take much to be sent into a 4 wheel drift. Overall, I highly recommend these tires to anyone that has a spirited to aggressive driving style. I will definitely be ordering these again.

...I had to go north up towards Jackson Wy from SLC to get back home due to I-80 being closed and these tires handled the iced over and snow blown over roads like a champ.
Was going to wait until I had some good usage to post a review, 10k later and coming back home through a major snow storm in Wyoming; I would buy these again. I had to go north up towards Jackson Wy from SLC to get back home due to I-80 being closed and these tires handled the iced over and snow blown over roads like a champ.

...Winter traction is not as good as Bridgestones but is liveable with considering the price difference...
Great price for performance value . I like the tires very much and can say they are performing very well for a 3 season tire. Winter traction is not as good as Bridgestones but is liveable with considering the price difference. I will consider them for purchase again.

...I push it in the corners. I run a little faster than I should. And, these seem to be doing the job for me...
So far, I'm digging these tires. I went with a lesser expensive tire. I can fill my little silver bullet (MX-5) up with gas and double the value. I push it in the corners. I run a little faster than I should. And, these seem to be doing the job for me. I'm no pro driver. I don't run the solo stuff any more. Overall, I like the purchase.

...However, when they advertise superior dry traction, IT IS ABSOLUTELY TRUE. My GTO puts over 400 horsepower to rear wheels. I cannot get these tires to spin! From a dead stop, if I stand on the throttle, they won't even whistle...
Attention rear wheel drive summer car guys and gals... Keep in mind my GTO is a dry weather car only. I can't defend against the poor wet/snow ratings. However, when they advertise superior dry traction, IT IS ABSOLUTELY TRUE. My GTO puts over 400 horsepower to rear wheels. I cannot get these tires to spin! From a dead stop, if I stand on the throttle, they won't even whistle. My car has a 2500 stall converter. Even if I footbrake it, it still will not spin and just launch. Only a straight up brake stand will spin these tires. I do not run stock size listed above. My front tires sit on a 6 inch wide rim and are 205/50 R17, and the rear sit on a stock 8 inch wide wheel and are 275/40 R17. I do not notice any difficulty in steering response despite the skinny tires on the front. For the price, these tires are a no-brainer, in my opinion, for your summer performance car! So much so, that I'm even going to get a spare pair for the rears that I can burn up at the drag track! I hope this is a helpful review for your decision-making.

...The dry traction is remarkable, I don't drive this vehicle if the road is going to be wet...
Good price for a performance rated tire. This is my second set of these tires on my car. The dry traction is remarkable, I don’t drive this vehicle if the road is going to be wet. The low profile and stiff sidewall makes them perform well on country backroads.

...Don't know about treadlife yet but predict about 20,000 miles more or less compared to other performance tires depending on driving style. For the price well worth having to replace after 20,000 for the handling.
