Does this tire fit your vehicle?

Tires are designed specifically for different vehicles and wheel sizes. Tell us about your vehicle or the specific size you want so we can help find the right tires for you.

The HTR A/S P03 is Sumitomo's Ultra High Performance All-Season tire developed for drivers of sports cars, sporty coupes and powerful sedans, looking to capture the performance they crave from their vehicles. Combining Sumitomo's advanced technologies, the HTR A/S P03 is designed to blend dry, wet and wintertime traction for a combination of high performance handling and stability, even in light snow.

A silica-enhanced, all-season compound is molded into the HTR A/S P03's asymmetric tread pattern which is optimized to reduce profile deformation while cornering, improving handling and stability. A solid, high-tension bead apex promotes sidewall rigidity while cornering, increasing steering feel and response. The advanced "fin" design molded into the outboard intermediate rib feeds water evacuation channels that continue to the outboard shoulder, reducing hydroplaning for increased stability in wet conditions. Inclement weather traction is further enhanced by the HTR A/S P03's "Miura-Ori" sipes molded into the outboard rib, helping the tire maintain its connection to the road surface in wet and wintertime conditions. Cross-design grooves and sipes built into the inboard ribs further enhance road contact, with a focus on maximizing winter traction.

The HTR A/S P03 features a robust, two-ply polyester casing designed to increase durability and maintain ride comfort. A twin-reinforced steel belt package further enhances reliability and is wrapped with a full-width nylon reinforcement to help maintain high speed integrity and stability.

Winter traction earns praise from most users for snowy conditions (7-8 range common), though a few note reduced confidence on ice. Comfort receives high marks for smoothness and low noise, while treadwear ratings (7-9) suggest durable performance for all-season use. I loved the responsiveness and how stable they were in the rain. Driving in the pouring rain on the highway I have never had any issues, and was able to pass the other cars, change lanes and drive 65-70 mph feeling I am in control of my car...

I considered myself a new driver when I got the set of these tires in 2017, and I just bought a car that's been sitting in a lot for a while so it needed tire change. (I am a female, so my review is based on how I felt and might not be super professional- pls don't judge) .
What I definitely liked- was the price, hazard warranty and the characteristics of these tires.
From the very beginning I have noticed the tires were a little bit more noisy than the old ones (maybe because they were new).
I loved the responsiveness and how stable they were in the rain. Driving in the pouring rain on the highway I have never had any issues, and was able to pass the other cars, change lanes and drive 65-70 mph feeling I am in control of my car.
In the review video they said the tires are not as responsive- I did't feel it at all.
I have tested these tires on the snow- well driving 25-30mph my abs did not allow me to stop , but the car kept going straight without any shifting/drifting- so there was only my mistake of not pressing breaks slowly.
I have used a hazard warranty on one of my tire- and there were no problems. I just had to buy any tire within the price I originally paid and they reimbursed me for it. If the tire is more expensive- then you pay the difference.
I have driven nearly 50000 on these tires and I am going to order the same set, because I haven't had any issues and the price is great!
Hope it helps.

...A month after buying the PO3's a quick snow storm came up that weather men didn't forecast. the salt crews didn't have time to pretreat or treat. these tires got there first test for me. about 2.5 inches of wet snow on road and uphill and curvy . my previous tires were the HTR A/S PO2,they were a good tire but didn't drive on any snow. Got 35000 miles and needed new ones so I got the PO3. I drive on curvy hilly two lane road at 40mph and flat roads at 55 . these tires handle great on a 04 civic . This is my second set of these tires. I had these while living in CT for 3 years and they performed well in the snow. Now living in SC. While I don't see snow here they do well in the rain. Not the smoothest tire but what I expect for their aggressiveness. Good tire at very good price.

...They handle rain, ice, and snow much better than I expected...

These tires surprised me. They handle rain, ice, and snow much better than I expected. Even in dry conditions, they feel much better than expected. I thought I was just getting a cheap tire to get me to my next car, but now my car handles much better with these on. I have used a lot of different tires on different cars/trucks, these are great all-season tires for an SUV or small truck.
Highly recommended.

...better than average dry traction...

Good price with better than average dry traction. Have experienced winter while using this tire but prefer a studded snow tire since we live in north Dakota. Tires will experience lower than average lifespan of driven on gravel, and have soft sidewalls that are easily punctured by sharp rocks. Worth buying again.

Tires perform near to perfect in dry weather especially in hard cornering...

Tires have roughly 7-9/32 measurement on all 4 after 1 year and 22k miles driven. Tires perform near to perfect in dry weather especially in hard cornering. Tires do slip when accelerating from stop in wet pavement and handling is below average at 20k miles. I had one experience in the snow where highways were not plowed. 12 miles of driving took over 90 minutes but the tires performed decent enough to get me home on a 5 speed FWD. At my current tread depth, I would’ve probably have been off the road. Ride noise has been average as these are louder tires compared to Michelins/ Continental/ Yokohama that I’ve owned on other vehicles. I’m planning on getting the wheels balanced which I’ve never done with other tires, due to noise/vibration.

I have purchased this particular Sumitomo type tire, currently the SUMITOMO HTR A/S P03 XL, for my vehicles for several years now. The tires are relatively lightweight so give a good ride, combined with excellent handling characteristics in this category. They balance easily, providing a smooth ride at all speeds. My only issue is that they may be a little more susceptible to sidewall damage from bad potholes, but this has not been a frequent enough issue to dissuade me from future purchases. I really do like these tires.

...Treadwear is excellent...

The Sumitomo tire offers good performance and value in the 2020 Honda Insight fitment. Ride characteristics are very good but sidewall compliance seems high - would not recommend for spirited driving in this size. Treadwear is excellent. Drivers looking for the highest gas mileage for their hybrid or electric car may want to look at a different tire.

...As a UHP tire with a relatively low treadwear rating, the wear is not going to be amazing, but so far, the tires aren't wearing excessively...

I needed new tires after going from 15” to 17” wheels, and I bought these mainly based on price and previous experience with other Sumitomo tires. So far, they’ve exceeded my expectations. I’ve never had any issues with traction in heavy rain with these tires, and despite not being ideal for winter weather, they were acceptable in light snow/slush.

The ride quality is better than I was expecting and was not a noticeable downgrade from that of the Continental ControlContact Tour A/S tires that were on the previous set of 15” wheels. The noise level is higher, though. It’s not bad at all on my car, but on something with poor sound deadening, this could be a problem.

The noise level and the somewhat dull, heavy on-center steering feel are my only two minor knocks against this tire. As a UHP tire with a relatively low treadwear rating, the wear is not going to be amazing, but so far, the tires aren’t wearing excessively.

Overall, I’m very pleased with these tires. The Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus would have been my preferred choice, but at the time of purchase, these were so much less expensive that it made more sense to go with these even though they’re not quite as good. So far, I have no regrets with that decision.
