The Zeon RS3-G1 is Cooper's Ultra High Performance All-Season tire developed for the drivers of sports cars, sporty coupes and performance sedans looking for a tire to match the personality of their performance vehicles. The Zeon RS3-G1 is designed to deliver impressive handling and traction in dry and wet conditions, while still maintaining year-round capability, even in light snow.

The coupled silica tread compound of the Zeon RS3-G1 is specially formulated to provide maximum dry and wet traction and is molded into an asymmetric pattern with a focus on cornering grip and minimizing tire noise. Wide lateral notches and four deep, circumferential grooves allow water to flow away from the contact patch to resist hydroplaning. Traction in slippery conditions and light snow is aided by the 3-D Micro Gauge sipes, which create the biting edges needed for grip in addition to interlocking below the surface to stabilize the tread and enhance handling in all conditions.

Internal construction of the Zeon RS3-G1 consists of a two-ply polyester casing to maintain the balance between handling and ride quality. The high-stiffness bead filler resists distortion for quick steering response, and the twin steel belts are reinforced by a spirally wound, nylon wrap for high-speed capability.

...The Cooper Zeon has the best rain/wet traction of any tire I've ever driven. A few months after I got the Zeons, I had an emergency situation on the interstate where I was about to get sideways at close to 70mph. The Zeons held.

These tires have amazing grip for my LS Camaro. When new, I had to really try to get them to break free. The Cooper Zeon has the best rain/wet traction of any tire I've ever driven.

A few months after I got the Zeons, I had an emergency situation on the interstate where I was about to get sideways at close to 70mph. The Zeons held. I didn't lose traction and was able to drive out of the situation. That was one of several times where I was certain, without a doubt, I'd have been in serious trouble on the Toyo Extensa's that were on the car when I got it.

The trade off for all that grip is that it's now a year later, maybe 45-50k miles on the Zeons and I'm shopping for new tires. I'm sure my driving style and the atrocious condition of the highway I have to drive are contributors to the relatively early wear.

There it is - amazing tires with less than average life span with "spirited driving" (lol) .

Excellent traction in both wet and dry conditions. Very crisp response - better than the OE Bridgestone RE050A and the Federal 595 RS-Rs. I haven't used these tires in the Winter, yet, but they seem to work very well in cold (near freezing) wet conditions. Ride is firm over bumps, like most UHP tires, but not uncomfortable. Noise level is low. Overall, a very impressive tire!

...Wet traction is great, even at 3/32nds...

I got these tires back at the end of June '17 and have already put 36k miles on the tires as of beginning of April '18. As one can tell, I drive quite a bit and, living in Northeast Ohio, can experience all 4 seasons in one week at times. I drive a stock 2012 Camry 4cyl but admit I'm quite an aggressive driver. I corner hard, brake hard, accelerate quickly ect. With that being said, tires are rated for 50k, I'm at 36k and tires are at 3/32nds. I've rotated and balanced every 8k-10k miles so tires have all worn evenly. They have gotten a little road noise as tread has gotten toward the wear bar but not much. Dry traction is awesome. Wet traction is great, even at 3/32nds, but my dilemma comes with snow. I hate the tire in winter conditions due to its lack of start and stop traction, but once you get going it disperses slush and muck just like it does with rain, so for that aspect I love them. It's a fantastic tire! Just, not for snow in my opinion. I'm a little disappointed I wont get to the 50k mile rating, but for the price and performance of the tire and taking my driving style into consideration, I'm still pretty satisfied. I've always been a fan of cooper and run Discover AT/3's on our SUV's and trucks without issue and love those also! Bottom line, I'd recommend this tire and will most likely purchase another set to replace the current ones. I just won't be running them next winter.

...They're not snow tires and I have an Explorer for snow, but when you get caught in the snow, they are surprisingly good in snow and ice!

This is the second set of Cooper Zeon's I've purchased for a vehicle in the past two years. This purchase was a tie between the General GMax and the Cooper's with the Cooper's winning because I was so happy with the previous set I purchased for a 2014 Ford Fusion. Although I've only driven on them for a month, I've driven in every condition, rain, snow, ice, slush, gravel roads, etc. They ride great, stick to the road and handle well...the quietest tires I've ever driven on. They're not snow tires and I have an Explorer for snow, but when you get caught in the snow, they are surprisingly good in snow and ice! Excellent tire for the price and always made in the U.S.A. !

Great cornering and stability at higher than normal speeds...

Great tire for this vehicle and my driving style. It combines performance and comfort in both wet and dry conditions. Great cornering and stability at higher than normal speeds. Light snow traction was acceptable though not recommended for extreme winter conditions here in New England. Overall a great choice for a three season tire for those who can afford a set of dedicated winter tires.

...In the dry they stick quite well. I can tighten my line at will even in decreasing radius turns. They do howl a bit on high speed tight sweepers but I've never run out of grip...

After much research I decided to go with these as my original choice. However due to a tire mishap went with Continental. Didnt like them so I had Discount tire order these and swap them out and I am glad I did. These tires have met my specifications for my non stock Camaro SS regarding a UHP all season tire. I drive quite spiritedly, and in both dry and wet conditions over a daily hour and fifteen minute commute. In the dry they stick quite well. I can tighten my line at will even in decreasing radius turns. They do howl a bit on high speed tight sweepers but I've never run out of grip. They don't do that at higher speeds when you tighten your line at any speed. Quiet on the highway, they do not tramline or wander. They ride very well considering the car's stiff suspension. They are not staggered on my car. I find these tires compliment my car's neutral setup. In the wet I have utmost confidence in these tires after a just completed 1000 mile round trip through mountains, heavy traffic, torrential non stop rain with standing water on the highway. Not once did I feel the need to significantly alter my driving style nor speed because of tire grip. They did not hydroplane one time, nor slip at any speed. They inspire confidence. I will absolutely buy them again. Tread life has been great but I would rotate them a bit more often. That's just me. Overall a fantastic tire. Period.

...The Zeon's have a smoother, quieter ride, display no tracking on road imperfections, and possess excellent handling, in all weather conditions... I am very pleased with the Zeon's, with the comfort and poor weather security they provide...

I purchased these Zeon RS3-G1 tires to replace (4) 275/40 R17 98W Sumitomo's on my 1992 corvette. The difference in performance is striking. The Zeon's have a smoother, quieter ride, display no "tracking" on road imperfections, and possess excellent handling, in all weather conditions. The Sumitomo's had laser-precise handling response, but were noisier, hard riding, were not as confident in wet weather, and "tracked" with road imperfections. The Sumitomo's were also less expensive, but not by much. I am very pleased with the Zeon's, with the comfort and poor weather security they provide. I enjoy spirited driving, and the feeling of being connected to the machine, and also the margin of safety sports car handling provides. There is a little tradeoff in response, but overall they are more refined and balanced, in the way the OEM Goodyear Eagles were, but should last longer, and were nowhere near the cost, while still being fun.

...Wanted a tire that could perform in dry/hot conditions, perform in cold/wet conditions, and delivered a smooth, quiet ride... This tire delivers a quiet, compliant ride on the street, with confident performance on dry pavement and confident performance on wet pavement alike...

LOVE this tire! Wanted a tire that could perform in dry/hot conditions, cold/wet conditions, and delivered a smooth, quiet ride. Honestly, comfort wise was looking for a touring tire but there were no options in that category at the time in the staggered combination required on my Camaro SS. This tire delivers a quiet, compliant ride on the street, with confident performance on dry pavement and wet pavement alike.

A note on the performance - they are a kind of "squishy" tire at the limit in the sidewall sizes I've experienced, you can definitely feel some flex both in the initial response and as you near the grip limit, but it is consistent and can be reduced with extra air pressure if desired, at the risk of compromising ride. Also worth noting, this squishiness contributes to softer steering than what I've experienced from other performance tires, but I consider that a positive of these compared to other options.

At 10,000 miles on the tires, the wear squares indicate 75% on the front tires and 50% on the rear tires, but I have run these tires hard.

I run an occasional Track Night in America (normally on a set of Extreme Performance Summer Tires)(Thanks for sponsoring these events TireRack!) and had an event come up at Nashville Super Speedway with a strong chance of rain in the forecast - ran these and they held up great! You could hear a bit of roaring from the tread under hard braking, but other than that they performed admirably, especially considering that 2/3 of the sessions were completely dry. And when we did get wet the 3rd session the only thing that brought me off the track was the officials curtailing the event due to lightning, these tires were extremely stable even in the rain at speeds of up to 130mph.

I have been so impressed with these tires I bought another set for our 1992 Chevrolet Corvette, and those have delivered the same combination of a smooth, quiet ride and awesome handling that I enjoy on the Camaro!

The highest mileage I've ever gotten out of a set of tires. There wasn't an option for 'out in the boonies' for drive location, but that's where I drive. Two lane roads through Appalachia turn into a racetrack and have my whole life. Usually get between 8k-12k out of tires and NEVER more regardless of the car or rotation frequency which is frequently. That was true, till I bought a lightly used set of these tires already on some wheels I wanted. Nearly sold them as they tend to lightly scrub under high suspension compression or in a fully cut turn of the wheelbsince they're not meant for my vehicle, but thank goodness I didn't. These have been the best and longest lasting set of tires I've ever owned. Stick to a curve like a tick to a hound. They are relatively quiet up till about 75 or 80. Not terrible thereafter though. I've had some front end issues too, so I think the resonance is not from fault of the tires. Do very well with wet conditions, however my only wreck was on a rainy day, and I'm not big on pushing it in those conditions anymore understandably. Only issue is they are not great under 20°f. They get rather hard and aren't anywhere near as good for cornering, which is what I would expect in those conditions. Overall, I love them.
