Most customers rate the Michelin Primacy MXM4's wet traction highly, with scores of 9s and 10s highlighting confident grip and stable wet braking. While a few ratings between 2-6 note occasional concerns, the majority praise its all-season wet performance as reliable and secure.

...Driving at high speeds in heavy rains these tires providing confidence and control for sure-footed handling in wet and dry road conditions...
I replaced the OEM Michelin Pilot HX MXM4 with new Michelin Primacy MXM4 tires and find them to be an excellent and superior alternative to the OEM. These tires perform better in cornering, straigt line driving with, very low noise level (quieter than the OEM), and high speed performance. Driving at high speeds in heavy rains these tires providing confidence and control for sure-footed handling in wet and dry road conditions. On the interstate, the road seams are absorbed and smooth while the tires still provide ample communication of the road condition to the driver. Michelin has done well with this tire. Iwould by them agsin.

...These Michelin tires are quiet, responsive, and perform flawlessly in the rain...
Michelin tires are the only tires we purchase for our Hondas. I recently replaced the OEM Pilots with these tires and could not be happier. I was a bit disappointed with the tread life of the Pilots, with only a bit of tread left after 45,000 miles. These Michelin tires are quiet, responsive, and perform flawlessly in the rain. I do not drive these in the winter, as I have Blizzaks for our upstate New York snow season.

...In fact, the anti-hydroplaning charateristics I've experienced now in standing water and downpours are outstanding. The water is firmly ejected out and up from the tread, while the Audi stays straight on track!...
This is the best Michelin tire I've ever owned. I was ready to replace my Continental OEM's with another set of ContiSportContact because there are so few choices in a quiet touring tire now with a non-directional tread. My Quattro has a full set of five 17" alloys, so I rotate all five. This makes the MXM4's ideal for quattro-drive and they are smooth, quiet and very responsive. In fact, the anti-hydroplaning charateristics I've experienced now in standing water and downpours are outstanding. The water is firmly ejected out and up from the tread, while the Audi stays straight on track! I will add to this review once I experience some real winter conditions. But I'm sure the match-up with this tire and Audi Quattro-drive will be a slam-dunk!

...Live in Syracuse NY. As you might have heard, we do get some snow... Biggest difference is in rain and snow. What a difference...
This is my initial review for these tires - I drive a lot in the Northwest for work (two Saabs) and my priorities are: minimal road noise, crisp handling, grip on wet pavement, good longevity and LRR if possible. I drive fairly fast and enjoy good handling on twisty roads, but dislike tires with a lot of road noise or harshness. Hence I gravitate to Grand Touring tires, and tend to use Michelin for the consistent handling, durability, quietness and low cost per mile. This tire meets all my stated criteria - my first impression is they are perfect for a Euro sports/luxury sedan. Not quite as sporting (or firm) as the Pilot Exalto I have on my other car, but better handling than my previous favorite - the plush Primacy MXV4. These tires exhibit a comfortable ride, minimal road noise (some on bad pavement) and yet they deliver good grip and neutral handling. Very solid in the rain. They also have an LRR rating for good mpg, and a 55K warranty. All tires are somewhat of a compromise between pure handling performance and comfort, and so far I really like where these fit on the scale.

...Driving to Mammoth at night in icy conditions was a little daunting, but mostly b/c we don't get icy in SoCal. The tires combined well with the AWD and seemed to hold. Absolutely no problems in snow - surefooted as a snow leopard on the hunt...
This is a review of the NEW (as of summer 2010) Michelin Primacy MXM4 "GREEN X" (V rated purchased for my Turbo Subaru Outback) in October 2010.
It's been just over 7500 miles. Had the opportunity to put these new Greenies through their paces driving to, from and around Mammoth Mt. as well as in extremely wet conditions. (SoCal got a year's worth of rain in a few weeks.) Great test ground.
These tires will feel a bit "soft" at first. A scuff-up period does seem completely necessary before you can get a true feel for these treads.
Even after this "get-to-know-ya" period, I found that I still prefer a slightly firmer feel so I run these tires toward the higher end of the tire pressure range, which has a good feel for my driving style, our road and weather conditions and a lightly laden vehicle.
I get an average of 22-25 MPG, mixed City & Hwy (averaged nearly 27 MPG going to and from Mammoth) which, for me, is a significant improvement over the 16-19 MPG with the stock tires.
Driving to Mammoth at night in icy conditions was a little daunting, but mostly b/c we don't get icy in SoCal. The tires combined well with the AWD and seemed to hold.
Absolutely no problems in snow - surefooted as a snow leopard on the hunt.
Same with rain and we got plenty recently. SoCal roads can be very slick with the first rains. We get quite a build-up of oil and grime on the roadways that is infrequently "washed away" by precipitation the first rainstorm is usually quite slick.
Two weeks ago, nearly 5 inches of rain in as many hours. However, I did not feel any sliding or hydroplaning on street or freeway. It's worth mentioning that I don't feel the need to drive "spiritedly" in rain.
We'll soon see how they do in warm-hot weather. But for now, I am quite happy with the "winter" performance and general handling. I am happy with the mileage as well. Need to wait and see about the wear. But, so far, it's a sweet match to the Turbo Outback and I'm happy with my purchase.

Customers overwhelmingly rate the Michelin Primacy MXM4's dry traction as excellent, with most scores 9-10. High marks highlight responsive handling and confident grip, aligning perfectly with Grand Touring expectations. A few 7-8 scores note minor concerns but don't detract from strong dry performance.

Very good grip, very responsive, very quick, very stable. Wet or Dry on my V-6 Accord 2006. Noise less than my prior Michelin OEM tires.....ride is stiffer so response to bumps is a little more noticeable. Seem like great tires but expensive...we'll see if the treadlife offsets the higher cost. I can say this, in the rain in the past, my traction control system would engage on quick starts; now I have to work to break these tires loose. These tires are predicatble and consistent...and they remain stable at higher speeds as well.

...The traction is outstanding. Almost feels like a Z-rated summer tire on dry roads...
I own a 2008 G35xS (AWD, sport package with 18" tires) and live in Indianapolis. The OEM Dunlop SP Sport Maxx tire treads wore out after less than 30,000 miles on my car. They never ran straight, despite two separate 4 wheel alignments. The traction was relatively poor even when I drove the car off the lot, and I was not happy with the Dunlops. Did some research on this website, along with a few other car magazines. People didn't like the Bridgestones, so I went with this new Primacy tire from Michelin, as my family has always had good luck with Michelins in the past.
I must say that I am very impressed by the new Primacy MXM4 tire. Over the past 3000 miles this winter, it's like I have a new car. The traction is outstanding. Almost feels like a Z-rated summer tire on dry roads, and the wet performance in heavy rain is very good. On the highway, I get no sense of any hydroplaning even in the rain. Of course, it is not, nor ever will be a snow tire, but it performs well enough in Indiana's snow the past few months to get by just fine. I feel very safe flying down the highway at 75 mph with these tires, and I feel that the traction I have with these tires is many times better than the OEM Dunlops. I would seek out Michelin Primacys on any new car my family purchases over other brands for that reason alone. For an all season tire, they're outstanding.

I replaced OEM tires with these about a month ago. The handling is about as good as I can imagine with this car, very responsive and quiet, no drama at any speed. The only small complaint I have is that they do have a small hum at about 50/60 mph which the OEM tires did not.

After having Pirelli's on my Volvo C70 that were horrible, I am exceedingly pleased with the MXM4's. The car rides like a new vehicle. Great control on wet roads with a crisp and comfy ride on dry. Very quiet too. My husband did not like to drive the car before because the Pirelli's were a rough ride. Now he loves my car! Cannot recommend these tires enough - 5 Stars! Complements also to Tire Rack as the service online and over the phone was superb. Second time happy customer that will be back!

...The Michelin MXM4's are quiet but allow the feel of the road to come through in a positive way. They are a very comfortable tire and just right for cruising in the Lexus.
I bought these to replace Bridgestone Turenza that were not worn out but were noisy and did not feel safe in all conditions. The Michelin MXM4's are quiet but allow the feel of the road to come through in a positive way. They are a very comfortable tire and just right for cruising in the Lexus.

This tire has exceeded my expectations for comfort, responsiveness and handling. It also has positive qualities of great gas mileage for a great handling tire. I would anticipate getting alot of miles out of this set of tires based on the wear so far. I have not used the tires in the winter and expect not to, that falls to my set of winters from Blizzak. These tires came OEM on my Lexus. Very happy with them throughout their life. 34k miles brought them down to 4/32nds, and they were getting a little louder on coarse pavement and a little squirrelly in the rain so it was time to replace them in my opinion, someone else may have gotten another 10k miles out of them before they were at the wear bars. Very smooth and quiet, yet surefooted and sporty. Would definitely buy again, what kept them off the car as replacements was price. Always balanced perfectly and held the balance well. Only fault really is that they're expensive...
