The Premier A/S is Michelin's Grand Touring All-Season tire developed for the drivers of coupes, sedans and minivans looking for tires that deliver category-leading wet grip when new and when worn. And even when worn, Premier A/S tires are designed to stop shorter on wet roads than leading competitors' brand-new tires, as well as provide all-season traction on wintry roads, even in light snow.

The Premier A/S is a Michelin Total Performance tire that utilizes innovative technologies to bring multiple performances together. Combining stopping power, driving control, promised weather appropriateness and enhanced fuel efficiency, Michelin Total Performance tires reduce the influence of traditional trade-offs normally associated with tires. Michelin Total Performance is a promise of Michelin tire excellence.

Premier A/S tires use an extreme silica and sunflower oil enhanced tread compound to increase traction in wet and cold temperatures. This compound is molded into a symmetric tread design featuring a continuous center rib flanked by notched intermediate ribs and linked shoulder blocks to deliver straight-line tracking and responsive dry-road handling. Michelin EverGrip Technology adds Expanding Rain Grooves around the tire's circumference and Emerging Grooves across the shoulders. As the tire wears, the Expanding Rain Grooves widen while Emerging Grooves open up across each shoulder block to help retain more traction in wet and wintry conditions.

The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced with spirally wrapped polyamide cord on top of a polyester casing ply to blend handling and durability with ride uniformity and comfort.

*Specific sizes utilizing Michelin Total Performance eco-focused manufacturing methods are identified as such on the Sizes tab, as well as on the tire's Specs tab.

Treadwear receives praise for longevity in many cases, though some note rapid wear or disappointing tread life. Wet traction earns high marks for grip and hydroplaning resistance, while dry traction is consistently rated as responsive and confident. ...This is where these tires shine, handling is superb, breaking was confident & secure even at high speeds, wet weather was its natural terrain. Best Handling tires in heavy rain!...

First thing first, I,,replaced the O.E.tires(Bridgestone Dueler),that came with my vehicle when I purchased it. Those tires were not going to survive winter driving conditions.Regardless of your all-wheel-drive system, the most important factor in poor driving conditions, is tire traction.
I, previously had excellent experience with Continental A/S DWS, but was unable to find those in my vehicles' tire size. Going by the reviews I decided to go with the Michelin A/S Premier, and I have not been disappointed. Well, worth the money!
Dry: Great traction and handling, very predictable.
Wet: This is where these tires shine, handling is superb, breaking was confident & secure even at high speeds,, wet weather was its natural terrain. Best Handling tires in heavy rain!
Light Snow: Adapts very well to light snow and slush, did not lose traction, breaking was predictable.
Heavy Snow: Just got over 8 inches of snow, tires remain soft, did not turn into hockey pucks, was able to comfortably drive in & out of unplowed streets, pull in and out of parking spots with no problem.Handling & breaking was confident, during wintry conditions. A very good for all seasons with some winter properties.
*These tires are a plus for anyone with an all-wheel-drive system looking for excellent all season tires.*
You should not worried about fuel economy, if that's the case you should ride a bike... It's about safety! Not gas mileage!
Final Note: if you live in an area that has heavy snow during the winter months, should always go with dedicated winters there is no substitute! There are no all season tire that can or will outperform a dedicated Snow tires in snow.

...Wet traction is phenominal...

This is the first tire review I have ever left on any product. When purchaing tires I always weight heavily on the reviews. The only concern I had was the cost as they are a littel pricey. The Michellin Premier A/S have been the best set of tires I have ever owned. Traction and cornering is better then I ever expected. Wet traction is phenominal. I really like my Vee Dub Sportwagen (which came with stock 15" Bridgestone Ecopias) but after putting the Michellin's on I LOVE it. The Preimer's make the "Farfegnugen" even better!!! I have 10K on them and counld not be happier. I will buy these tires again and again.

...Great response in the wet...

Brand New Michelin model to replace a set of Pilot Primacy which lasted 100K miles on my 2WD Tacoma. (Had to change due to nail in sidewall or could have gone another 10-15K to tread wear bars )

I have 18"x8" Lexus RX330 wheels that replaced the original 15" Firerocks that wouldn't stop. So far these are proving to be another great Michelin Tire. We had a light snow yesterday (3") and no issues, Great response in the wet, and limited time on dry pavement. Will update with further use.

...These Michelin Premier A/S tires are as expected with road noise and fine on dry, wet, and snowy roads...

I have no issues with price nor handling. The Honda Fit is a noisy econobox, but it is a handy car. These Michelin Premier A/S tires are as expected with road noise and fine on dry, wet, and snowy roads.

After 21,400 miles, tread depth is 5/32, 5/32, 3/32, and 3/32. Rotations and air pressure were checked as necessary. This is disappointing for a 60,000 mile set of tires. I would gladly recommend them to enemies.

New, they had 8.5/32 tread. Some kind of new composition was supposed to make them wear very slowly. The wear was slow over time, but not slow over driven miles.

The tires are 5-1/2 years old (4,000 miles/year because I drive two other cars). Michelin is reacting pleasantly to a warranty claim, which is limited to 6 years. After reading Tire Rack reviews, I will stay with Michelin and try the Defender T & H.

Michelin Premier? Never again.

I just recently got these tires and thank ---. Here in Seattle we just got huge amount of snow. For being All-Season tires they preformed wonderfully on light snow and in the wet. We I encounter deep snow I did get stuck a couple of time but that is do to my vehicle being FWD. Once the snow passed it has been raining and combined with the melting snow the road are quite wet. On wet road these tires preform wonderfully and I feel planted to the road. Time will tell how these tires hold up and preform on dry pavement.

...Once you get use to the new feel dry traction is fair, better than my Tigerpaws but just barely, and they do track a straight line better down the highway vs Tigerpaws. Long sweeping turning will require a few corrections as these tires do not like these turns. Steering response is sharp however responding to my every command with precision!...

I have always heard Michelin tires are the best and these new Premier tires seem promising nonetheless. I came off of a Uniroyal Tigerpaw which was a decent tire for its price but lacked wet weather gut, especially hydroplaning resistance (Poor) and dry handling was average. I went to these Primier's and my first impression..... boy it feels like I am gliding across the road. I had to adapt a lot to this new feel of this tire. Once you get use to the new feel dry traction is fair, better than my Tigerpaws but just barely, and they do seem to track a straight line better down the highway vs Tigerpaws. Long sweeping turning will require a few corrections as these tires do not like these turns. Steering response is sharp however responding to my every command with precision! A nice treat!
Wet weather performance is amazing with these tires. Handling and corning abilities seem to improve in wet weather believe it or not and I no longer need traction control in puddles vs my Tigerpaws. In fact Hydroplanning resistance is top notch with these puppies!
Snow performace is..... well.... disappointing. The Primer's like to spin a lot vs my Tigerpaws and I can not crank the speed to 30mph in the city (35mph limit) without feeling my backend slipping and sliding in 45degree turns. 90 degree turns I really need to pull the car back otherwise I slide too much as well. Being stopped on a hill in 2 inches of snow and try then trying to climb it was embarrassing to say the least. The only good snow related is braking is decent in the snow. So far only needed anti-lock once and that was going down a hill.
Ride/Comfort seems a bit harsh. I feel and hear every imperfection in the road which can be annoying, however tread noise is limited and quiet mostly.
I am no bad driver either as my friends are always complimenting me on my driving abilities but these tires just do not cut it.
Maybe it is cuz my tires are still green and shiny but at 6K now I would start to expect more.

...These tires are smooth, quiet, and absorb bumps well... Very comfortable tires.

I purchased theses tires due to the fact that I couldn't stand the hard, noisy, off brand tires that were on my car when I purchased it over a year ago. I have a set of Michelin X-ice Xi3 winter tires and was highly impressed with them so I just had to come back to Michelin for my all-season tires. I am glad I did. It was a night and day difference compared to the crappy all seasons I took off. They are more expensive, but I am picky about my tires and am a firm believer in "you get what you pay for." These tires are smooth, quiet, and absorb bumps well. I have only driven them in moderate rain showers so I cannot comment yet on how they are in downpours, but I'm sure they will due excellent. I am hoping to get long life out of them and am interested to test Michelin's theory behind these tires in the wet as they are worn down. Not too worried about them in the snow as much since I have a set of winter tires. Very comfortable tires.

...So I downsized to 16 Premier A/S tire at the first opportunity, and found them vastly better in every aspect. They are quiet on any road surface and at any steering angle... Truly a great tire for the money; they changed my car from an appliance into a entertaining ride.

My Volt came with 17" Michelin Energy Savers. They basically ----ed - made noise on regular pavement and were much worse in corners, I could never be sure that I could avoid the medians on left hand turns ( steering response was quite poor), and wet performance wasn't good. So I down sized to 16" Premier A/S tire at the first opportunity, and found them vastly better in every aspect. They are quiet on any road surface and at any steering angle. They handle Houston rain pretty well - no white knuckle driving in the rain any more. They provide responsive cornering, and are capable of carrying the car around a corner at speeds that would discomfort most passengers without any distress. Truly a great tire for the money; they changed my car from an appliance into a entertaining ride.
