The Destination A/T with UNI-T is Firestone's On-Road All-Terrain tire developed for jeep, sport utility vehicle and pickup truck drivers who want tires that offer handling on the road and toughness off it. Available with three sidewall styling choices; Outline White Letter, traditional blackwall and a Special Edition blackwall featuring a stylish Carbon Black Camo design, Destination A/T tires combine ride quality and noise comfort with year-round traction in dry, wet and wintry weather, even in light snow.

The Destination A/T uses Firestone's UNI-T technology with enhanced on-road capabilities. UNI-T is a combination of technologies that merge a comprehensive design method with innovative manufacturing features to enhance tire comfort, performance and wear.

The Destination A/T features a Long Link Carbon (a special form of carbon black) enhanced tread compound to blend wet performance and wear on the road with cut, tear and abrasion resistance off the road. The tread compound is molded into a symmetric pattern that features over-the-shoulder design, independent intermediate tread blocks and a continuous center rib to combine off-road traction with enhanced highway stability while circumferential grooves, lateral notches and sipes enhance stormy weather traction. The tire's internal structure includes twin, high-tensile steel cord belts with a polyester cord body to enhance strength and durability.

...Water and snow traction is incredible! Hydroplaning is almost non existent...

If it were not for the known wheel bearing problem with the Ford Sport Trac that caused abnormally quick wearing on these tires I would have expected to get much more tread wear out of them. I am going to and would highly recommend buying these tires. Water and snow traction is incredible! Hydroplaning is almost non existent and 4WD is almost not needed in snow.

...Very good compromise for quiet, smooth highway and excellent snow, wet condition driving...

My '96 grand Cherokee had The Firestone LE's Good ride, handling was great but they completely wore out at 20,000 miles. The Firestone dealer warranted the mileage and suggested the Destination AT's. These are a much better tire. Not quite as smooth as the LE's but close. The AT'S are quiet, handle extremely well in all conditions and after 12,000 miles are not showing any wear.I do monitor the Tire Pressure and rotate every 5,000 and my car is kept in alignment. I am definitely going to put them on my 2005 Grand Cherokee limited when the current tires need replacing. Very please with price and performance. Very good compromise for quiet, smooth highway and excellent snow, wet condition driving. I use the "old Jeep" to trailer ATV's and have taken it off road some. Very pleased with an all around tire that delivers what is expected and more.

I live in Minnesota, so snow traction was important to me. I rarely use 4wd with these tires. I can't even express how much better these are than the OEM Dunlops (which were terrible). With 4wd, I have pushed through over 24" of unplowed snowy roads and through snowplow banks over my bumper. Traction offroad (fields, gravel, rocky trails, mild mud) has been great. I mostly drive city/highway and am very happy with how these handle and wear. 35K miles on them, and they look to easily have another 5K-10K miles left on them. IMO, for the price, you can't find a better offroad capable highway tire.

Great tire, great value! Quiet on the highway, very good snow traction, and truly a 50k mile tire. Just purchased our second set and would highly recommend.

...Last year Christmas Eve I was driving up I-29 as a snowstorm dropped 18 inches of fresh powder I drove on unplowed roads the last 100 miles and didnt have any problem thanks to my Firestones...

I purchased this set of tires on August 1, 2008 after reading a lot of good reviews on all aspects of the Firestone Destination A/Ts. I installed them on my 06 crew cab, 4x4, half ton Chevy truck. The truck had 25,200 miles exactly on it when installed and now has just over 70,000. The Destination A/Ts are amazing to me they have never let me down and I take the truck anywhere I want to because I know the tires wont disappoint. I live in southern Missouri now and am origanally from northeast South Dakota which is where my family lives still. I take my truck up there for thanksgiving and Christmas and have yet to get stuck. Last year Christmas Eve I was driving up I-29 as a snowstorm dropped 18 inches of fresh powder I drove on unplowed roads the last 100 miles and didnt have any problem thanks to my Firestones. I have a heavy foot and have had these tires up to 140 mph obviously not rated for that kind of speed but gave me a stable safe ride nevertheless. These tires have impressed me in mud, sand(florida where my wifes family lives),snow, ice and of course the suprisingly quiet ride they deliver on dry pavement. I suggest these tires to all my frinds and you. Firestone is a great tire manufacturer they took the fall for ford when they overloaded the tires specifications but have a solid history otherwise.

...They handle excellent on wet dry and snowy conditions...

I have owned two pairs of Destin ATs. They r hands down the best high quality versatile tire I've ever purchased. They handle excellent on wet dry and snowy conditions. They don't handle great on ice, but not many tires do. I live in northern WI so I'm used to treacherous driving conditions. Not only did these tires exceed my expectations of what a tire should be, but they were very reasonably priced! my father and brother also own destin ATs and they are very satisfied as well... I would highly recommend these tires to any 4-wheel-drive enthusiasts. I've read a lot of reviews on these particular tires and it seems that the majority of consumers that have owned a set are as equally pleased as me. As for the writers of the few bad reviews I've read about these tires I would suggest they learn how to drive before knocking a product they have no driving comprehension or common driving skill to accurately judge... Also, if you are driving a Toyota, you may have problems regardless of the tire u put on it. This is America, have a little sense of pride in your country. One review also said that they wouldn buy destin ATs cuz they aren't American made. Hmmmm? The last time I checked firestone is an American company. You will not be disappointed if u purchase these tires. I hope this review will help people to make the right decision!!

...Awesome traction on and off-road. Never spins or slides on wet asphalt...

Great tire! Awesome traction on and off-road. Never spins or slides on wet asphalt. Does well in mud and in deep sand. Great treadwear. Still look brand new. I would definitely recommend these tires to anyone who drives a lot of highway, but occasionally needs an A/T for hunting or similar outdoor activities. I chose these over the General Grabber A/T 2 because I do more highway than off-road so I felt these were a better fit.

...On paved roads, I have been very impressed with these tires with the ride and the comfort level...

Incredible tire. I have never had a tire get over 85000 miles on treadwear. I will definitely buy this tire again. The traction with these tires off road is incredible. I have been able to cross ditches, handle steep inclines, and cross rocky terrain. I have not had to deal with heavy mud but I would not hesitate with these tires. On paved roads, I have been very impressed with these tires with the ride and the comfort level. I would highly recommend these tires.

Very good wearing tire. Could definitely get another winter out of them and they've been through 5 so far. Quiet and comfortable. Only drawback in my experience is acceleration on wet surfaces or hard packed snow. Good tire that you will not be disappointed with.

When I sold this truck, the tires had nearly 50K on them, and they still looked and felt brand new. I could hardly notice any treadwear and they gave me a lot of confidence in Minnesota winters. I did rotate them regularly, and maintained proper vehicle alignment, so that probably contributed.

I also drove them from MN to NC Outer Banks, and drove on the sandy beaches, and they were very good. The sand there is really soft, and these tires didn't let me down.

About to put them on my Jeep Commander.

...With 28,000 miles on them, the treadware is minimal. Its like they are still new...

Have owned Bridgestone Dueler MTs, and Uniroyal Laredos, These are my first set of Firestones. These are by far the best set of tires I have had on this truck. While most driving is normal, everyday back and forth to work, The truck spends weekends in the NC and Tennessee mountains. With 28,000 miles on them, the treadware is minimal. Its like they are still new. Off road traction is very good in wet and loose dirt on the trails and paths to the lakes and streams. I will absolutely replace these with another set if these every wear out.

Great tires. Excellent wear and traction. I have a 70 mile commute (round trip) daily from the country to the city and often drive to our cabin in the middle of nowhere. I live in Michigan so we see our fair share of rain, snow, ice and sunshine. I hope the next set of tires are as good as the original!!
