Grand Touring All-Season tires are for drivers who want a combination of a sophisticated appearance, competent handling and H-speed rated (or higher) durability, along with all-season traction, including in light snow. Grand Touring All-Season tires branded with the M+S symbol are often used as Original Equipment (O.E.) on sophisticated coupes and luxurious performance sedans.
O.E. Grand Touring All-Season tires are typically purchased as direct replacements for worn-out pairs/sets of the vehicle's original tires. They can also be used for other vehicle applications in complete sets of four or axle pairs if available in an appropriate size, load range and speed rating to match the existing O.E. tires' performance category and specifications.

Customer surveys indicate the Bridgestone Turanza EL440 excels in comfort, with many praising its smooth, quiet ride (scores 7-10). Dry traction receives strong marks for confident handling and grip, aligning with Grand Touring expectations. However, treadwear ratings show inconsistency, with some reporting premature wear despite high-mileage claims. Winter performance raises concerns, particularly on ice and deep snow, where scores frequently drop below 5. Wet traction receives mixed feedback-while hydroplaning resistance is decent in moderate rain, some note reduced grip in heavy downpours. Overall, it satisfies drivers prioritizing comfort and dry-road refinement but may disappoint those needing robust all-season versatility in harsh conditions.

...Mountain back roads the tires can really hustle without any complaints. I'm an avid sports car driver with a Z06 and Mercedes coupe, so I sometimes expect my boring daily Camry to hit the backroads with similar enthusiasm...
Unpopular opinion here, but these are very good OEM tires. Would I buy them again? No, because they are much too expensive, but that is expected for OEM tires.
These tires are very quiet and handle well all around, like you would expect for a grand touring option. I have seen complaints about their snow traction. I have driven them in a sudden snow storm on untreated roads and they did very well. Secure braking and traction and cornering, I was very impressed especially when I saw Jeep drivers taking too many risks and spinning out while driving too fast and accelerating too hard for the conditions.
Fast highway driving they are very quiet and secure. Resist hydroplaning very well. Mountain back roads the tires can really hustle without any complaints. I'm an avid sports car driver with a Z06 and Mercedes coupe, so I sometimes expect my boring daily Camry to hit the backroads with similar enthusiasm.
I suspect I am halfway through the tread life on these tires, hope to get 50k miles on them before they need changing. I plan on going back with another set of grand touring tires and not selecting high performance all seasons.

...Dry traction is far better than the wet traction...
These are the OE tires that came with my 2022 Toyota Camry XSE. They are ok tires for an OE. Ride comfort is decent, but with low profile tires on my car, I feel that there are better tires out there that may have better ride comfort. Dry traction is far better than the wet traction (we just had a ton of rain the past couple of weeks out here in California [week of 1/12/23 to 1/16/23]) and they did the job by not hydro plaining at appropriate speeds on the free way and on residentials. I have yet to drive the tires over snow and slush so this I can't rate on. Treadwear so far is is wearing equally and still shows a ton of grip. I expect better tires from Bridgestone and at $321.24 at Tire Rack and less at other places possibly, I'm sure there are far better rated tires than this to buy when I get my new set of tires.

Purchased these to replace OEM Michelin Primacy at 47k miles. Granted the Michelins had some miles on them (not at wear bars) but I immediately noticed these are quieter with a more comfortable ride. Drove 300 highway miles just after installing and was very impressed. Few days ago drove on highway in heavy rain and they were stable. Much better traction than Michelins as the Primacy would always spin from stop in the rain. Cornering and overall feel is on par with Michelins. I’ll come back after I drive in snow this fall (Iowa). In this size (235/45R18) these are impressive and I don’t understand where the poor reviews are coming from.

...Now, I don't trust these Turanza in wet conditions at all, I have lost control of the car twice in raining days, once on highway which recovered and once was on street and didn't end well...
Definitely one of the worst set of tires from Bridgestone. Traction is acceptable on dry surfaces but if you give it just a bit more power then these Turanza starts spinning. Now, I don't trust these Turanza in wet conditions at all, I have lost control of the car twice in raining days, once on highway which recovered and once was on street and didn't end well. Right now I have approximately 32000 miles on them, thread's are still good, probably can go another 30000 if treating them right. This Turanza is built to last, not for speed for sure. Highly suggest to stay away from it unless you are driving in 360 sunny days and slow pace areas.

This tire was new on my 2018 Odyssey. On a vacation trip home we ran into a heavy downpour. I was having trouble maintaining over 45mph with out the traction control activating. This on tires with only 18,000 miles on them. Looking for something with much better wet capability next time. Additionally they are going to be shot by 30,000 miles.

...Don't even get me started on winter snow and ice traction. I know these are not all-weather or winter tires, but I think I'd rather fit skis to my car than another set of these tires...
By far the worst tires I have ever owned. I've had over a dozen vehicles now, and as such, have experienced all sorts of tires, but none have ever caused me as much grief as these Turanzas. They were the stock tire for my Mazda3 Turbo, so I decided to get as much use out of them as possible before replacing them. If only it was that easy... These tries are just awful. In only 25,000 miles, the tread is extremely worn. 2 of the tires were replaced by the dealer early on from experiencing sidewall bubbling. Fortunately the replacements haven't suffered the same fate, but the lack of puncture resistance on all 4 means that all of them at some point have been easily thwarted by a nail, and on one particular tire, a tiny pebble. I continued to plug these tires for a while but it was a losing battle. It's one thing to be fragile, but another to also be completely incompetent as a tire. The traction of these tires (AKA the whole point of a tire) is basically non-existent. Acceleration, braking, turning, etc is all a very unsettling experience. Add any moisture to the road and they are like driving on bars of soap. Don't even get me started on winter snow and ice traction. I know these are not all-weather or winter tires, but I think I'd rather fit skis to my car than another set of these tires. Everything about them is just pathetic. I've never been more excited to spend $800 replacing tires, but I am looking forward to my new Continental DWS06s - A tire that I know I can trust from years of wonderful experiences. If you are considering shopping for the Bridgestone Trauma - Don't, just don't. Go for something - anything else with a better reputation. These are bottom of the barrel industrial tires provided to car manufacturers at cost. They are not meant to last, they're meant to get the car to the dealer lot and into the customer's hands with as little cost-perunit as possible. Avoid purchasing these on your own will.

...From day one they were susceptible to causing me to light off the traction control lights when accelerating in the dry and if there was a drop of water on the ground just forget about it...
Finally got rid of these tires that came on my Odyssey brand new. There is absolutely no chance I would purchase these tires again! From day one they were susceptible to causing me to light off the traction control lights when accelerating in the dry and if there was a drop of water on the ground just forget about it. I was a fan of Bridgestone but I will be second guessing that in the future. Here's to Vredstein's chance to impress me.

...They are very expensive and not living up to the treadwear rating... I only have 17594 miles on these tires and they will need to be replaced by early fall (it's now July 31st 2022)...
Tires 235/45/R18 came factory on my 2019 Lexus ES 350. They are very expensive and not living up to the treadwear rating. These tires are noisy and I can't wait to replace them. I only have 17594 miles on these tires and they will need to be replaced by early fall (it's now July 31st 2022). They spin too easily when turning from a stopped position at a light or stop sign. Even if you get on the gas pedal from a stop going straight they spin briefly. I want to move forward when i give it gas, not sit there and spin. I bought my Lexus because I wanted a quiet comfortable drive. These tires do not deliver. I have no idea why Lexus would choose these tires for their OEM specs. I will be replacing with Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus tires. According to tire rack reviews, they are better in every category.

These tires are rated for 50,000 miles, and are my OEM tires. I have 40000 on them right now but they aren't even legal! They hit 4/32 before 35,000 miles. Considering that we had them rotated regularlyand they wore evenly, I have to believe the quality is just bad. Since there is no true treadwear warranty on OEM tires, we just have to replace them. DEFINITELY would not recommend or replace with the same tire.
