Grand Touring All-Season tires are for drivers who want a combination of a sophisticated appearance, competent handling and H-speed rated (or higher) durability, along with all-season traction, including in light snow. Grand Touring All-Season tires branded with the M+S symbol are often used as Original Equipment (O.E.) on sophisticated coupes and luxurious performance sedans.
O.E. Grand Touring All-Season tires are typically purchased as direct replacements for worn-out pairs/sets of the vehicle's original tires. They can also be used for other vehicle applications in complete sets of four or axle pairs if available in an appropriate size, load range and speed rating to match the existing O.E. tires' performance category and specifications.

...They are quiet, track extremely well on dry roads and wet (monsoon rain storm), and stick in hard cornering on a variety of surfaces...
It seems that all the drivers who rate this tire poorly have the same thing in common - they all drive Subaru Outbacks. The two drivers who drive something else, both rate the tires 4.5. Is it possible the tires aren't compatible with Subaru Outbacks or does Subaru "spec" the tire (the Walmart syndrome) for their vehicles and their tires may be inferior to "off the shelf" tires?
I have only 3000 miles on my new XE (which explains why I can't rate the tires in snow, but I do live on a mountain in TN so I will provide an update this winter - and from current experience I expect they will do well in snow) but so far the tires have been excellent! They are quiet, track extremely well on dry roads and wet (monsoon rain storm), and stick in hard cornering on a variety of surfaces. I am curious as to the mileage I will see due to my driving style but so far, I would highly recommend the tires to anyone considering a purchase.
...Light snow and slick roads along with the Subaru drive system best drive I've every had related to traction... To indicate traction I have never had a tire track so much into the garage...
Very impressed with these Subaru OEM tires. My rotated every 7k tires have even wear and will last over 50,000 miles. Light snow and slick roads along with the Subaru drive system best drive I've every had related to traction. Road noise is more subdued than my 2013 Toyota Highlander with 17 in Bridgestone 422's with similar mileage. The ProContacts road noise is also a a more pleasing lower pitch. To indicate traction I have never had a tire track so much into the garage. The tire is better than the ratings indicate.

...Now living in Texas, the tires do great on the various smooth or rough country roads, great traction and ride.
This was the stock tire on my Outback and I've driven it through 3 Buffalo winters without any problem in the snow and ice. Now living in Texas, the tires do great on the various smooth or rough country roads, great traction and ride. On a trip to CO through the high peaks and down through Utah to Moab and back, these tires were great on my Subaru for our off road camping and hiking trip. I'm about to get my second set because the tread is getting thin but it's still there! Here's to the next 60+K!

I bought these Slovakian made tires based on Consumer Reports suggestion and testing. They ride smoothly and quietly, just as Consumer Reports testing showed. I am pleased so far... as I ride down the road listening to others car tires that are just too loud. Brushing curbs happens to novice drivers and will damage any tire so stop bumping curbs...and comparing car tires against jeep tires. I paid $120 each and had to special-order them.

...Snow/Ice traction is awful.
Started hearing humming noises around 20K miles and go worse with time. Turns out that 2 of my 4 tires did not wear evenly. This created loud noises / harmonics between 30 to 50 mph, depending on the road. When new, the tires had bulges on the sidewalls. I did not take to dealership due to lack of time. Good thing they did not explode. Noticed a 1-2mpg improvement as the treads were near bald. This could be due to the tires or that fact that my oil burner (yes, there is a class action lawsuit for this vehicle) is starting to break-in. Eventhough I drive slower than average person, I can't imagine anybody else getting more than 50K miles on these tires. Snow/Ice traction is awful.

...Traction at this point is very poor on all but dry pavement... The worst part is breaking on snow and ice.
Significant tred wear at 25,000 - need replacing. Traction at this point is very poor on all but dry pavement. This is my 3rd Subaru and these are definitely the worst tires I have had - renders the great all-wheel drive useless. The worst part is breaking on snow and ice.

Mixed treadwear ratings with many scoring 0-4 and 5-6, indicating premature wear and dissatisfaction. While some give 9s-10s, numerous reports of excessive wear, rapid tread loss, and needing replacement far earlier than expected for a Grand Touring All-Season tire.

...These are what came on my 2016 Forester and I didn't really think much of it before so I just replaced them with the same tires when they were low tread last time at about 26k miles, but they need replaced again at about 22k miles and I'm tired of it. There's no reason I should have 3 different sets of tires before 50k miles...
I can't say I ever noticed anything particularly bad about these tires in terms of handling considering they're all season, but the treadwear is absolutely terrible. These are what came on my 2016 Forester and I didn't really think much of it before so I just replaced them with the same tires when they were low tread last time at about 26k miles, but they need replaced again at about 22k miles and I'm tired of it. There's no reason I should have 3 different sets of tires before 50k miles. It's not remotely worth the price to me. I wouldn't recommend these tires to anyone and I can't wait to replace them with something else that will actually last.
