The Kinergy GT is Hankook's Grand Touring All-Season tire originally developed for Original Equipment use on vehicles from Honda, Hyundai, Kia and Volkswagen. It is designed to provide a quiet and comfortable driving experience combined with traction in all weather conditions, even light snow.

The Kinergy GT molds a silica-infused, all-season compound into a symmetric, five-rib tread pattern. The rigid center rib aids traction for acceleration and braking performance, and the high-modulus bead filler increases sidewall stiffness for responsive steering. The high-grip silica tread compound delivers wet traction, while wide lateral notches and four circumferential grooves evacuate water from beneath the contact patch for increased hydroplaning resistance. Multiple tread sipes feature chamfered edges to maximize contact area on slippery surfaces, providing confident all-season traction.

Internal construction of the Kinergy GT features two wide, steel belts with a full-width nylon reinforcement (in most sizes) for improved handling, durability and high-speed stability. A body casing made from polyester cord helps manage the trade-off between handling and comfort, while the strong, jointless bead wire enhances uniformity for a smoother ride.

Hankook Kinergy GT Reviews

Feedback consistently shows the Hankook Kinergy GT delivers strong dry traction (scores 8-10) with responsive handling, meeting expectations for a Grand Touring All-Season tire. However, comfort receives mixed feedback, with some noting excessive road noise and harshness. Treadwear scores (often 0-5) raise concerns about longevity, a notable drawback for an all-season tire. Winter traction shows inconsistency, particularly on ice and in deep snow, with scores ranging widely (0-8). Wet traction is generally adequate (scores 5-8), though some report reduced hydroplaning resistance. While dry performance shines, buyers prioritizing comfort or winter capability may find limitations.

...Wet and dry traction have been very good. Never experienced any hydroplaning.

I don't understand all of the poor reviews for this tire. They are OE on my 2023 Trailblazer and I haven't experienced any problems. After 28000 miles they show very little tread wear and I have no doubt they'll last another 28000 miles easy. They ride very smooth, but could be a little quieter. Wet and dry traction have been very good. Never experienced any hydroplaning.

...Dry and wet conditions traction is pretty good...

These tires were the OEM on my 2024 Chevrolet Malibu LT.

Pros- The ride is pretty good, Dry and wet conditions traction is pretty good. Steering response.

Cons- Moderately noisy most of the time, and very noisy on certain surfaces. Terrible performance on ice or hard packed snow. Mpg seems to drop off excessively in colder sub zero temperatures. Tread depth is not as deep brand new. Seem to be wearing quickly. 13k miles and approx 2/32" already worn. (8.5/32" new, so only 6.5/32" available to wear).

Bottom line- I would not install these again unless they were really really cheap.

...Dry traction is adequate and cornering stability is not bad...

Nice comfortable ride and low road noise. But that's where the positives end. Treacherous on wet roads or any precipitation. Dry traction is adequate and cornering stability is not bad. I understand why Tesla would want an internal foam-lined tire to offset the inherent road noise in the cabin of the pre-2024 Model 3. But the trade off in this case was not worth it by any means. I would stay away from this tire if you're purchasing replacements. Even after only 5K on these I will likely replace with something safer.

...Wet traction is horrible and don't even get me started with snow...

These came with my Camry and OMG why Toyota, just why? These are by far the worst tires I have ever driven on. When I got my Camry I thought it was a little rough. Bumps and potholes seemed to be alot more harsh then I ever thought a Camry should be. I even thought it might have been a suspension issue, it wasnt. It was the tires. The people who say they are quiet must be confusing tire noise for engine noise. These are insanely loud. Wet traction is horrible and don't even get me started with snow. If somebody told me these were some cheap no name Chinese knock offs, I would believe them. Shame on Toyota for ever using these as stock on any vehicle. Get the Continental TrueContact Tour 54, you'll thank me for it.

...Now this winter has been a nightmare even with my cautious driving. We haven't even gotten that deep of snow yet and even in just an inch or two, the traction control light comes on frequently and I almost didn't make it up a very slight hill...

These came with the vehicle. The car was my grandmother's in Florida and she barely drove it, gifted it to me when she decided to go down to 1 car. I moved it up to Massachusetts where I didn't notice really any problems with it over the summer and fall, but I am a super cautious driver and always drive slow in the rain as I'm used to older used cars. Now this winter has been a nightmare even with my cautious driving. We haven't even gotten that deep of snow yet and even in just an inch or two, the traction control light comes on frequently and I almost didn't make it up a very slight hill. I'm getting them replaced immediately before we get some bigger snowstorms. The tread is also under 2/32 already. The roads up here are bad, but I haven't even hit 40,000 miles. Tires have been rotated frequently enough, I think it's just what other reviewers are saying, these do not last as they're supposed to. I'm curious to what I'll notice with my new tires (Pirelli Scorpions) in the dry and wet conditions as they're rated so much higher. Other reviewers spoke unfavorably but I'm not too experienced or well-versed in the world of cars, so I probably didn't notice and I'm looking forward to the improvement. Would not recommend these, especially if you drive in any amount of snow.
