The ADVAN Sport V105 is Yokohama's Max Performance Summer tire
developed for the drivers of high-powered sports cars, sporty coupes and
performance sedans. Based on technology fostered through participation
in motorsports and development at the Nurburgring Circuit in Germany
(one of the world's most grueling race/test tracks), the ADVAN Sport
V105 combines an increase in agile handling with a more comfortable ride
when compared to its predecessor by featuring precision-tuned materials
and structures. Like all summer tires, the ADVAN Sport V105 is not
intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on
ice.
ADVAN Sport V105 tires mold a Microsilica and Orange Oil
enhanced tread compound that helps the tread rubber remain pliable to
improve tire adhesion and grip. The compound is molded into an
asymmetrical tread design in which wide outboard shoulder blocks and
circumferential ribs work together to promote dry traction and handling.
Variable width circumferential grooves and asymmetric lateral notches
help reduce noise and promote water flow through the footprint to resist
hydroplaning.
The tire's internal structure features two rigid
steel belts reinforced by spirally wound overlapping nylon across the
tread with three layers covering the belt edges in the shoulders to
combine high-speed durability and responsive handling. Yokohama's new
motorsports-inspired Matrix Body Ply Structure technology features a
rayon body ply that is angled in the sidewalls to maintain lateral
rigidity while reducing tire weight to deliver more agile handling and a
more comfortable ride.

Latest vs. Greatest Max Performance Summer Tires (04:59)
Max Performance tires deliver an unsurpassed blend of dry/wet traction and handling for the street via high-tech materials and advanced manufacturing. They aren't hampered by the inherent compromises of an all-season tire. And unlike Extreme Performance tires, they have good road manners.
How do the newest compare to the top tires in the category?
Customers think the Kumho Crugen Premium delivers a smooth, quiet ride with strong dry traction and responsive handling, earning consistent praise in these areas. Treadwear receives mostly positive feedback, with many noting long-lasting tread, though some report rapid wear. Winter traction is generally reliable in snow, though a few note mixed results on ice. Wet grip and hydroplaning resistance are rated highly, with scores often in the 8-10 range. Comfort and noise levels stand out as key strengths, aligning well with its crossover/SUV touring role. While most categories show strong performance, a minority highlight treadwear variability and icy-condition limitations as minor drawbacks.

...The dry and wet handling performance was impressive in the 245/45/19 package and it allowed me to build confidence quickly when pushing the handling on back roads. Hydroplaning resistance was good even when they were down around 5-6/32 tread...
I was pleasantly surprised by the Kumho Crugen Premium that came as an OE tire offering on the 2016 Hyundai Tucson 1.6T Limited. Normally the OEM tires are a compromise in several areas and I can't wait to replace them with a better option as soon as I can. This was not the case with the Crugens. The dry and wet handling performance was impressive in the 245/45/19 package and it allowed me to build confidence quickly when pushing the handling on back roads. Hydroplaning resistance was good even when they were down around 5-6/32" tread. I had the opportunity to test the Crugens in a few snow falls and they did ok considering their all season markings, but I wouldn't really use them in an area that gets significant deep-snow even with an AWD vehicle. I ended up replacing all four Crugens on the Tucson because of an unrepairable flat tire (side-wall damage) and so that the tires could match each other in terms of tread depth. I can't recall the last time I replaced the tires with the OE offerings, which is saying something about how much I was impressed by these tires.

...I couldn't be happier with these tires so far, cause I bought my SUV in the peak of the winter season, and have driven it on wet, snow covered, and icy roads so far already. And these tires have really surprised me to say the least. My Sportage is only FWD and it handles like an AWD traction wise with these tires on it...
Though I've only put 900 miles on these tires, I bought my 2019 Kia Sportage LX new and all the miles are put on by me so far. I couldn't be happier with these tires so far, cause I bought my SUV in the peak of the winter season, and have driven it on wet, snow covered, and icy roads so far already. And these tires have really surprised me to say the least. My Sportage is only FWD and it handles like an AWD traction wise with these tires on it. I don't get that rear end drifting or looseness like I have in the past with some FWD vehicles, and I always put great brand tires on my vehicles. The ride comfort and quietness is amazing, plus they keep their pressure very well in changing temps during the winter, and I don't have Nitrogen filled tires. Only time will tell as to whether these tires live up to the mileage warranty, but so far I'm very pleased with these tires and their exceptional traction in all weather conditions.

...Was on the highway in the pouring rain, easily an inch or more of water on the road and I cruised 50-55, no hydroplane at all. People were all over the road going 30 mph...
Have about 3k miles on these tires and they are absolutely phenomenal. Was on the highway in the pouring rain, easily an inch or more of water on the road and I cruised 50-55, no hydroplane at all. People were all over the road going 30 mph. These tires are quiet, handle great, smooth ride and have excellent dry surface traction. I drive my car hard and even though it is a large SUV these tires handle well, corner very well, not mushy at all. Had reasonably expensive Bridgestones (Dueler) and Continentals before these and the Kumho's are WAY better, not even a contest. I live in New England and have yet to drive in snow but I have no doubts they'll handle well. Don't be fooled by the lesser price, these are really excellent tires

...There was alot of wet snow, about 4 inches. Enough that it covered the tracks of the car in front of me, but I didn't spin a tire and had no problem going over the Pass. I am impressed with these tires...
these tires came new on the 2015 santa fe AWD. I have 79,600 miles on it. the tires still have 6/32 tread left. I had to drive over Donners Pass 2 weeks ago and snow was forecast. I was concerned because of the miles on the tires, but decided to go anyway. There was alot of wet snow, about 4 inches. Enough that it covered the tracks of the car in front of me, but I didn't spin a tire and had no problem going over the Pass. I am impressed with these tires. They have impressive mileage and still do well in the snow.

...Car handled well in chain or 4wd required road conditions for about 40 miles plus local fresh snow conditions in Tahoe. One scare occurred when Tundra in front of me stopped on way up steep grade and started sliding backward Todd me. I stopped and car also started to slide while at complete stop.
I live in No Cal and drove Hwy 50 over Echo Pass to Tahoe for winter ski commute. Held off review until first Chain or 4wd event. Took car morning after most recent Sierra Storm. Car handled well in chain or 4wd required road conditions for about 40 miles plus local fresh snow condiond in Tahoe. One scare occurred when Tundra in front of me stopped on way up steep grade and started sliding backward Todd me. I stopped and car also started to slide while at complete stop. I quickly put the Audi in gear and was able to arrest slide with no tire slip while gaining traction to maneuver out of way of truck sliding toward me. (tundra quickly gained control so no incident). I quickly gained enough confidence to pass snow plows and other relatively slow moving vehicles. I am looking forward to seeing the results of the TR promised winter condition Sweden tests. Note that I was also considering Michelin LTX, but all in cost for Kumho was less than 50 percent of Costco Cost for Michelin.
Theses tires replace Michelin Lattitute OEM at 60K miles. Kumhos offers slightly softer feel but equally good dry condition handling on narrow twisty rural foothill highways and roads. Straight interstate drinking is comfortable and quiet. I am not sure why the poor reviews from others it glad I ignored them after Will be going over the pass tomorrow AM for what appears to be another POW day. Glad to have confidence in a set of all seasons for managed winter conditions.

...The snow performance leaves quite a bit to be desired, so much so, that I bought a set of Blizzaks for the winter months. The two are not comparable, as the kumho are not specific snow tires...
I bought a brand new Santa Fe Sport AWD 2.0 Turbo in November of 2017, these were the OEM tires. So far, after about 15,000 miles, they have performed fairly well for OEM tires. I live in Denver, and frequent the mountains for skiing. The snow performance leaves quite a bit to be desired, so much so, that I bought a set of Blizzaks for the winter months. The two are not comparable, as the kumho are not specific snow tires. However, driving dry/normal road conditions, the tires are great. I drive A LOT, and the kumho tires have kept up just fine. The wear has been even and the noise level is low. For kumho tires, which I¿ve had on past vehicles, these have been way better. In the past, I¿ve had TERRIBLE experiences with kumho, but these seem to be doing much better than previous ones. Overall, this is a great ride for the price range, economical and great tread wear. Maybe not the best option if you live in a high snowfall area. Besides that, I¿d recommend these tires.

...dry traction is great, rain traction is great...
Great OEM choice by Hyundai. This isn't a sport tire and I don't expect it to perform like one. Instead it gets the family to and from on a daily basis in all weather conditions without issue. Rain traction is great, dry traction is great. Tires are still quiet after 30k+ miles. I paid close attention to road noise during a recent 11 hour road trip and the cabin was quiet. Most amazingly after 33k+ miles and regular rotation they still have 8/32 tread depth. I expect another 30k easy before replacing.

...Dry handling is good and the noise level is reasonable in our car...
These tires were OE on our 2015 Kia Sorento AWD and I was impressed enough to order another set to be installed Monday. I live in a coastal area that has experienced over 100" of rain this year and the traction has been excellent even as the tires have worn to 5-6/32 of tread depth. We do drive in snow a few times each year and the tires are good for an all season offering. Dry handling is good and the noise level is reasonable in our car. In my opinion, these tires are an excellent value.

...Wet traction has been above average and they are comfortable and quite on the road...
About 12,000 miles on these tires and have had no issues, not the greatest in snow but they work adequately. If I was back up north I would just buy a set of snow tires and put them on for the season. Wet traction has been above average and they are comfortable and quite on the road. I am buying another set to replace the back set of tires I mostly bought these tires for the price because my wife puts a lot of miles on her car here in the dry and wet conditions mostly.

The comfort and low noise are exeptional. Compared to winter tires that are very noisy and less driving comfort, perhpas due to tread and tire compound.
The tires are perfect for the KIA Sedona, ths is our 4rd set. We swap in wither to studded tires so we do not use these in the winter. The previous sets have lasted approximately 40000 miles. Wish the would last longer but the comfort and low noise are exeptional. Compared to winter tires that a very noisy and less driving comfort, perhpas due to tread and tire compound.
