The CrossClimate SUV is Michelin's Crossover/SUV Touring All-Season tire originally developed for Original Equipment use on the Mercedes-Benz GLE and GLS (non-US market). The CrossClimate SUV is an all-weather tire that meets industry severe snow service requirements for the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol and is designed to be a one-tire solution for drivers in environments that experience all four seasons, but don't receive sufficient snowfall to require a dedicated winter tire.
The CrossClimate SUV features an all-season compound molded into a highly directional tread pattern with nearly solid transverse ribs for handling stability and dry traction. Wide lateral grooves and open shoulders provide a direct path to evacuate water from beneath the contact patch for hydroplaning resistance, while the bevel-edged tread blocks provide grip on damp surfaces. 3D self-locking sipes create additional biting edges for foul-weather traction, and Emerging grooves in the shoulder help retain confident winter traction as the tire wears. The biting edges combined with the specialized compound deliver the traction needed to receive the three-peak mountain snowflake symbol (3PMSF).
The internal construction of the CrossClimate SUV consists of a single-ply polyester casing supporting two steel belts. A polyamide reinforcement aids in handling performance and provides high-speed durability.
Note: While non-winter tires featuring the Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) symbol may provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.

When it comes to winter driving, this is probably one of the best winter tires. It's so good in the winter, I'd even rate it it in the top 25% among winter tires. I had these tires through one full Maine winter and they do not disappoint. The traction on icy and light snow or plowed roads is great. Deeper snow is very good too. The wet traction is also stellar. They area little noisy on the highway, but I've dealt with worse. They are pricey, but if you want an all-season that gives you confidence in the winter, they are worth it.

...Their handling in winter conditions has been satisfactory enough to forego separate snow tires this season, with effective turning and stopping on hills, except potentially in very deep snow.
After a year-long, 12,000-mile road test, the tires have demonstrated reliable performance. Their handling in winter conditions has been satisfactory enough to forego separate snow tires this season, with effective turning and stopping on hills, except potentially in very deep snow.
During both spirited driving and long-distance, high-speed trips, tire performance was solid in terms of cornering and overall stability. Tire wear and balance have not presented any issues, and noise levels have remained minimal. Regular rotation with routine oil changes is the easy and best choice.

...We had an early snowstorm with ice included here in Ohio last month. The tires were simply amazing. They outperformed what I thought they might.
Absolutely the very best non dedicated snow tire I have ever had. We had an early snowstorm with ice included here in Ohio last month. The tires were simply amazing. They outperformed what I thought they might.

I bought the new Crossclimate SUvs purely for dry and wet performance and they exceeded my expectations... I bought the new Crossclimate SUvs purely for dry and wet performance and they exceeded my expectations. And they are dead quiet on the highway! On my tire test road, a downhill, decreasing radius, 180 degree highway on ramp, I could get my old front tires, Nitto CrossTeks, to squeal but for the life of me I can't get the CrossClimates to squeal....I don't want to tip over of course. AND, my steering is noticeably lighter.
They perform very, very well in wet and in slush, haven't had the opportunity to test in deep snow but I don't expect all weather rated tires to do well in deep snow. My gas mileage has not improved or suffered, but I didn't buy them to improve mpg. Highly recommended!

...Great responsiveness in dry conditions as well...
Tires replaced factory Goodyear Eagles. They definitively look like an all season tire, but handle great in wet conditions. A slight increase in road noise but not overwhelmingly. Great responsiveness in dry conditions as well. Brand new but my experience with Michelin is they last better than most.

...They are quiet... I feel very safe and comfortable with these tires...
I LOVE these tires. I have recommended them to others and I know at least two others have put 4 tires on each of their cars. They are quiet, I don't slip even when it is a light rain and the road is oily. They are great in the snow. I feel very safe and comfortable with these tires. These are not the least expensive but when driving a vehicle, I am looking for safety and security. I love knowing that these tires respond so well no matter the weather conditions.

Wearing consistently with a 60000 mile life...
Wearing consistently with a 60000 mile life. Good snow traction but not S good as a dedicated snow tire. Overall fantastic balance and worth the money over having two sets and swapping seasonally. If I lived on an icy dirt road these might not cut it but for everything I do, they’re perfect.

First two years these tires were absolutely fantastic In all 4 seasons or NE ohio
While they are not better than my dedicated winter tires.... thr cross climate are great option if I don't want to switch out during winter
These do wear a bit faster than I expected . These are now 7/32nd amd starting to spin on wet pavement for my van .
I will certainly upgrade to 100% tread and go with cross climate again
I will also try these tires on my next vehicle . Happy to recommend.
I have owned nokian wr and wg3 in the past . I am partial to nokian ....but michelin have proven to me to be worth the consideration

...I was leaning toward a different band because the O.E.M. Michelin's had bad tread life but decided to give them a try...
Put these on spouses SUV after reading Tire Rack Reviews. I was leaning toward a different band because the O.E.M. Michelin's had bad tread life but decided to give them a try. I don't drive it much but my time behind the wheel have been pleasant. Little road noise, a slightly softer ride and better manners in the wet. I did not drive it during the snow and ice but she went where ever she need to go without incident. I am impressed with them enough that I purchased another set to put on the youngster's car.
