The X-ICE SNOW SUV is Michelin's Light Truck/SUV Studless Ice & Snow winter tire developed for drivers of vans, sport utility vehicles and light-duty pickups looking for confidence in winter's many different road conditions, throughout the life of the tire. Whether it's clear, cold winter roads; deep, heavy snow; or any icy condition in between, the X-ICE SNOW SUV is designed to deliver reassuring wintertime traction and stability.

The FleX-Ice™ 2.0 compound of the X-ICE SNOW SUV utilizes inclusion technology, which generates micro-roughness on the tread surface, helping improve grip both in snow and on ice. The compound also contains a high silica content that ensures the tire maintains its flexibility, even in severe climates. This advanced compound is molded into a continuous V-Shape, directional tread pattern with increased groove widths compared to its predecessor, engineered to improve hydroplaning and slush performance, as well as increase the snow-to-snow traction needed for loose conditions. The X-ICE SNOW SUV's tread elements contain two types of full-depth sipes with complementary traction effects. Notched sipes provide numerous biting edges that help enhance traction in adverse conditions, along with variable thickness sipes that further aid traction while supporting the tread elements to maintain an efficient contact patch for control on packed snow and clear roads.
X-ICE SNOW SUV Light Truck/SUV Studless Ice & Snow tires meet the industry's severe snow service requirements and are branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.
Install Michelin X-ICE SNOW SUV tires in sets of four only.
Due to the traction capabilities of X-ICE SNOW SUV tires, Michelin recommends using them only in sets of four to provide the best handling characteristics and tire performance.

...Amazing in snow and rain...
These are literally the best tires I’ve ever owned. Amazing in snow and rain. Very quiet on the highway and the tread-wear for a soft tire has been very good. Highly recommend this tire especially for larger SUV’s.

Huge improvement over the stock all-seasons in terms of wet, snow/slush, and ice...
Huge improvement over the stock all-seasons in terms of wet, snow/slush, and ice. The ability to unlock the AWD performance is very reassuring when your tires actually chew through the snow. I have had 3 sets of Michelin X-ice on my car, so when my wife got her SUV this was a no-brainer. Over 5000 miles of pure confidence. Her first reaction to encountering a major winter storm (about 16 inches of snow) was to tell me, "MY CAR IS A TANK". We cannot overstate the importance of winter/snow tires where we live and compared to other winter tires Michelin is truly the only choice. Maybe it's the active noise cancellation, but there was no additional noise, vibration, or harshness from switching to these tires. Compared to an all-season on dry roads, the winter tire does have a tiny amount of "squirm", but on-center feel is great and the car tracks straight. There is no tramlining. You feel the tire load up under hard acceleration and breaking (and obviously hard cornering), but it is all very predictable. You only notice these driving characteristics for the first few drives after swapping from all-seasons, and you quickly learn the benefits once it snows!

...Traction in the wet and dry is great hydroplaning is non existent at any speed and snow and ice traction is incredible, drove my car through 2 feet of snow without any problems (once back on a treated road I had a balance problem due to the snow build up inside the wheel) but my car plowed through that snow without an issue.
I am a firm believer of a designated winter tire and on my cars I would choose a stud less snow tire over a performance winter tire, gladly give up handling for traction.
Now that I switched to a SUV with 20" wheels the choices were limited.
When I changed the original wheels with Pirelli's P zero performance summer only tires I immediately noticed the noise difference these runs so quietly compare to the almost new Pirelli's that I can't wait to replace them.

On my cars (Audi A6 Quattro and S4) I usually had Bridgestone Blizzak, I honestly think these perform better.
The rubber is pretty soft and pliable so steering response suffers, don't need that when roads are slick.
When my wife's Audi Q5's Blizzaks DMV need replacing these Michelins are the tire of choice.
Not a big one for doing reviews or surveys, but these definitely deserve 10 stars on a 5 star scale

...I drove through multiple 12+ inch blizzards this winter and was passing all the lifted jeeps and trucks everywhere I went...
this is a real review coming from someone who has used nokian, blizzaks, and other premier winter tires before and never once let the winter dictate when and where I need to go (as an avid skier). you get what you pay for, an incredible winter tire! I have had 8 different winter tires over the years on many different vehicles. these are some of the best hands down. I have put nearly 14K miles on them over one winter and they are quiet, comfortable, and handle everything winter can throw at them. after many miles they have only worn about 2.5/32nds so I feel they will easily go another 15K miles if not more before even thinking about replacing. on a heavy AWD Audi Q7 (275/45/20) SUV they are unstoppable. as expected they have a soft tread and are a full blown winter snow tire so they don't handle like an all-season or summer tire at higher speeds, but they never induced any panic. I drove through multiple 12+ inch blizzards this winter and was passing all the lifted jeeps and trucks everywhere I went. thanks Michelin and tirerack for an awesome tire that exceeded my expectations and seems like it will last for multiple seasons.

These are quite possibly the best performing winter tire I have ever experienced. As soon the snow started to fly, we took the car out for a drive on empty back-country roads. First, I tried a hard stop from 35 mph. The tires gripped the snow and ice so well. Then I turned of stability control and tried to get the back end to come about. Again, the tires were much grippier than I could have imagined. I couldn't believe how much more quiet the rig was coming off the all-weather tires. I have been transitioning to Michellin tires on all our rigs. They tend to cost more, but to me, they are worth every penny.

Customers praise the Michelin X-Ice Snow SUV's dry traction, with most scoring 9s and 10s. Scores between 7-8 still reflect solid dry capability for a dedicated winter tire.
...I turned the wheel hard to the left at 75 MPH and the car started to go into a skid, but then the tires bit hard and the car then when straight. Temperature as 24 degrees and road was dry...
My 2nd set of Michelin Ice X tires, this is the 1st set for my 2023 Mustang Mach e GT Perf Edition, previously had them on 2017 Ford Explorer.
If you own an electric car and want snow tires, buy THESE tires for your car. I did considerable research on all EV snow tires and what I saw was a lot of
poor performing and fast wearing tires. These tires while not necessarily made for Electric Vehicles as other tire manufacturers claim, they work
extremely well and Michelin has a 40,000 mile warranty on them. Basically the tires are amazing just as they were on the Explorer and I am not worried
about the wear. I live and work in the Detroit metro area so plenty of snow and terrible other drivers. These tires saved me from a bad accident just this week, I was
driving down I - 696 when car in right lane suddenly started merge into my lane, I turned the wheel hard to the left at 75 MPH and the car started to go into a skid, but then the
tires bit hard and the car then when straight. Temperature as 24 degrees and road was dry. Thanks Michelin!

Very happy with our winter tires and wheels! The new wheels have a tad more offset than the stock wheels, but are still under the fenders! The Michelins are quiet and good handling in dry and wet conditions! Thinking they will do fine if we get some ice and snow this winter!

...When I first mounted the Ice-X I was impressed with the ride, handling and lack of dry road noise...
I bought the Ice-X with the thought that Winter driving would be a better experience with them and that I would not lose too much dry road capability, and this has definitely been the case. My Odyssey is a work horse. Purchased new it has served on several sets of all season tires until now, but we recently acquired a vacation home near the Canadian border and a half worn set of all seasons are not the ticket for making that journey in Winter. When I first mounted the Ice-X I was impressed with the ride , handling and lack of dry road noise, but when I got a chance to push them a bit in snow they really showed their best, holding a nice even drift line in several inches of powder without the slightest twitch . They also are solid going through slush and mush at high speed on the interstate. Now if they wear for at least 30k of useful life then they are golden.

Good on the highway in dry and wet condition so far.
Wife almost missed a stop in the dry, braked late and hard and ABS went on.
For sure, it stops longer than summer tires in the dry !
Will report back after snow and ice driving !

30,000 miles on these tires, worn year-round on a Tesla Y on -1" wheels from tirerack. I expected much more wear through the summer with a heavy car, pleasantly surprised at the slow wear. These add a bit of noise and slower and plusher handling compared to stock. I'll replace these with an identical pair and keep wearing this tire/wheel combo year-round.

...I would also add that the tires last a very long time. My last set lasted through 7 winter seasons and 2 Honda pilots...
This is my third set of Michelin X-ice tiers over 6 years, 3 vehicles and well over 150,000 miles. They are literally life savers. I have lost track of the number of times that having the Michelin x-ice tires have allowed me to to avoid an accident. I am able to successfully avoid other out of control vehicles spinning out and crashing into surrounding vehicles. At one point I found myself in the midst of a 100+ car highway pile up in Sheboygan Wisconsin and was able to avoid any contact with another vehicle as well as to safely proceed 40 miles home. If you live in an area that has snow and ice, do not hesitate to make the investment. I would also add that the tires do last a very long time. My last set lasted through 7 winter seasons and 2 Honda pilots. They perform equally excellent on my Volvo XC40. Get the peace of mind that comes with knowing your car will behave predictably in the most challenging conditions. I would recommend going with a tire and wheel package and working with a Tire rack Advisor to figure out what the tallest and narrowest wheel and tire combination is. That was a -2" setup for me. This means that my wheel is 2 inches smaller than the stock wheel and the tire is also more narrow. The narrow and tall tire will cut through the snow incredibly well. Be safe.
