The CrossClimate² is Michelin's Grand Touring All-Season tire developed for the drivers of sedans, coupes, station wagons, crossovers and SUVs looking for daily driving comfort combined with confident performance in dry, wet and light snow conditions. The CrossClimate² is designed as an all-weather tire to meet industry severe snow service requirements qualifying for the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol alongside its all-season performance and is intended to function as a one-tire solution for drivers that experience all four seasons but don't receive sufficient snowfall to require a dedicated winter tire.

Michelin CrossClimate2 Callouts

The CrossClimate² features Michelin's Thermal Adaptive all-season tread compound molded into a V-Formation directional tread design engineered to deliver dry, wet and wintertime performance. Michelin utilized their PIANO Noise Reduction Tuning which employs advanced tread pattern modeling that helps tune out airborne noise by augmenting tread element geometry and timing variation. Longitudinal dry grip is promoted by the center portion of the tread, with blocks that align with fore and aft forces, increasing uninterrupted block area contact when accelerating or decelerating. Braking traction is further enhanced by V Ramp chamfers molded into the leading and trailing edges of the blocks that increase contact with the road surface under load. Further outboard, the shoulder blocks begin to align laterally with the tread, helping increase cornering forces and control. 3D SipeLock technology integrated into the tread, supports block rigidity for confident handling while also increasing traction in inclement weather. The steep angles designed into the tread pattern help channel water away from the contact patch, increasing hydroplaning resistance without the need for circumferential grooves. This grooveless pattern evens out load forces to benefit wear characteristics, while creating more biting area for wintertime traction. Snow performance is further enhanced by the Thermal Adaptive Tread compound, ensuring the tire remains flexible at lower temperatures for increased snow traction sufficient to receive the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.

Internal construction of the CrossClimate² consists of a two-ply polyester casing supporting two steel belts. A polyamide reinforcement is added to further enhance high speed stability and performance.

Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol may provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.

The wet traction is much better than any other tire I've tried...

The third and best tire by far that I've had on this truck. The wet traction is much better than any other tire I've tried. And it did well in the sand at the beach. Maybe slightly noisier than some others but worth it. Still at least 50% tread left after 25,000 mi, so I expect it to outlast the previous tires also.

There a Great tire for the purpose intended for. They look amazing, Aggressive in 3-5ft of snow & ice driving from Virginia to Buffalo NY can’t say enough good things about them. No much road noise, very soft feel in the vehicle. A lot better than Pirrelli garbage tires. Only put 28k miles on them & done. Hopefully get 60k out of these.

I did a lot of research before buying what I would personally consider an upgrade from the stock tires on my Forester Wilderness. I love how they look, and not long after the install, we got some snowy, sleeting, sloppy weather. My drive to work was challenging, since it involves a substantial increase in elevation on the way, and I was pleased how the Nitto Nomad Grapplers handled in the weather. Navigating the long, freezing rain/snowy road to the upper part of our complex that morning was easy, and I was very impressed. I commute this route every day, and so far, in the rain, or on dry pavement, the tires are well-mannered, quiet, and just seem to be built better than the stock tires they replaced. Often, my route to work is yet to be plowed on snowy days, and I have little doubt that in the coming months, when the weather gets really bad, I will have an easier time of getting to work and back than last winter. It's my first set of Nitto tires on any vehicle I've owned, but I'm sure it won't be the last. Thanks to Tire Rack for all the research tools you provided in helping me pick them out.

I took off my winter tires and installed these. The very next day we got snow and 2 days later ,more wet heavy snow and some ice. I was worried without my winter tires but these did great. I easily got out of my inclined drive way and my 20 mile drive to work was very good. When the pavement is just wet or dry they are also a quite riding tire. I would recommend them for a very good all season tire.

I can't say enough good things.
I was starting to think my car just felt like crap driving. However, these tires have changed my driving experience so much, its ridiculous.
I live on the moon (north east PA). I used to feel the craters adjusting my back. Now, the vehicle legitimately, feels brand new.
I wish I was at all joking about this.
Do I need tires this good, not really. I could prob get away with a decent set of a/s tires.
Did I lose a MPG from upgrading to these, yes. They are but heavier than my old tires, if I coukd do it again. I might have put the less aggressive sidewall out, which may be the actual reason for the loss of a mpg.
Is it at all a factor I would consider buying something different, heck no.
Absolutely worth every penny.
At first they were a little louder (by louder, I simply mean I was able to tell I had a NEW tire with deep tread, they were not at all in anyway distracting or even noticeable really) than my a/s's these replaced.
After driving for a bit, they are absolutely silent.
Idk, it changed my entire driving experience for the better.
Going over bumps feels great. these tires eat anything on the road.
I can probably hit a curb at 40 and it wouldn't do a ---- thing to the tire. These r not ur ordinary, subaru outback tire, thats for sure.
If ur a truck, suv, or awd car owner and like peace of mind in a crappy road condition state that sees snow, these are definitely your tires.
Its a good feeling being this confident in ur tires.
In case anyone out there forgets, your tires are absolutely the most important, daily used, components of ur vehicle.
Cheaping out in hard times is necessary on many things, I am a firm believer your tires are not one of them.
Finally and most importantly, they have many places they make these tires, im sure. My set was made in the United States, which I had no idea they even made them here. That alone has given me peace of mind.
Thankyou Nitto. Excellent tire you created here.😀😀

Excellent. Low road noise, very comfortable. Superior wet traction over stock. Right after I installed these I went on a road trip with 2k of highway, heavy rain, mud, snow and light off road /fire roads. Performed flawlessly. Will buy these again for all my SUV’s.

Much better traction than I was used to, These really grab well. They do make a little noise at highway speeds, but nothing terrible, they're an AT tire, so I knew to expect that. I'm hopeful that they won't wear too quickly...time will tell.
