The Scorpion XTM AT is Pirelli's Off-Road All-Terrain light truck tire developed for drivers of both standard ICE and Electric pickup trucks, crossovers, and SUVs who want a balanced blend of on-road civility with off-road capability. The Scorpion XTM AT is designed with a balance of durability, traction and wear resistance, combined with low rolling resistance to save on fuel between off-road adventures. In addition to its capable dry and wet handling, the Scorpion XTM AT provides light snow traction sufficient to receive the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.
The Scorpion XTM AT takes a tough all-season tread compound and molds it into a symmetric, high-void pattern to take full advantage of off-road grip. The pattern is designed to blend smooth on-road operation, an aggressive aesthetic, and confident off-road traction. Large, independent tread blocks and deep grooves help provide the clawing action needed to find grip in loose terrain while still providing comfortable on-road operation. The design continues over the shoulder for eye-catching aesthetics, sidewall protection, and additional grip points during off-road use. The sidewall is designed to create grip when sunk into mud and widen at channel exit points to clear the tread. Stone ejectors molded into the grooves kick out debris to help keep off-road adventures puncture-free. Wide lateral notches and open shoulders evacuate water from the contact patch to aid hydroplaning resistance. Full-depth in-block sipes and shoulder cuts offer more biting edges for sure-footed performance in slippery or snowy conditions.
Select sizes of the Scorpion XTM AT feature Pirelli's ELECT branding and deliver lower rolling resistance to better meet the demands of the drivers of electric pickup trucks.
The internal construction of the Scorpion XTM AT consists of a 2-ply polyester casing to combine durability with ride comfort. Two high-strength steel belts stabilize and support the footprint, and a 2-ply polyamide reinforcement increases durability and provides high-speed capability.
Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol may provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.
