The Wintrac Pro is Vredestein's Performance Winter / Snow tire developed for drivers of sports cars, sporty coupes, performance sedans and high-powered crossovers and SUVs. Designed to provide confident control and maximum grip in cold, dry and wet conditions plus sure-footed traction in snow and on ice, the Wintrac Pro combines advanced technology with an attractive, Giugiaro-styled design.
The directional tread pattern of the Wintrac Pro is molded from a resin- and silica-enhanced compound that improves traction for increased handling and braking performance on wet, snow-covered and icy roads. Broad shoulders help maximize lateral grip and high-speed cornering in cold, dry and wet conditions. The footprint shape is engineered to provide direct response to steering inputs while also efficiently evacuating water from the contact patch to resist hydroplaning. High-angle sipes in the shoulders optimize handling in snowy or icy conditions, while horizontal sipes in the center of the tread enhance longitudinal traction for maximum braking and acceleration.
Wintrac Pro winter / snow tires meet the industry's severe snow service requirements and are branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.

...In wet weather, these tires are terrific, with great traction and handling...
These winter tires are surprisingly good. I have two sets of them in the same size, for two roughly identical vehicles (both are 2023 Audi SQ8; the gas versions, not the etrons), and these tires have been driven year-round. They're much better than I was expecting. Unlike some other winter tires, when driving these in the warm weather, there's no tread squirm nor any other indication that I'm driving on winter tires. The traction and handling feels like really good all-season tires. In wet weather, these tires are terrific, with great traction and handling. In snow up to 5-inches, these tires did very well, with no loss of traction. I didn't throw the vehicles around corners in the snow, but it felt like I could. The biggest surprise came after an ice storm. Everything was coated in ice, but I had no problem driving on my sloped driveway that was a sheet of ice. Driving downhill and uphill on ice was easy. I'm guessing that the heavy weight of my Audi SQ8 vehicles (a little over 5K pounds) makes a difference and helps maximize the traction from these tires. But lousy tires on a heavy vehicle will do poorly, so despite the added advantage of the heavy weight of the vehicles, these tires are fantastic for all-around use, including on snow and on ice. I did not try to drive like a hooligan on ice, nor on snow, and on ice I drove fairly slow, and what I saw was no slippage. The tires just gripped. For a comparison, I previously had a pick-up truck that weighed the same as the Audi SQ8 (around 5200 pounds), and I had Bridgestone Blizzak DMV2 winter tires on that (in a very similar size to what I have on the Audi SQ8 vehicles), and those Blizzaks were terrible by comparison to these Vredestein winter tires. In summary, I'm impressed with these Vredestein winter tires, and I would definitely buy them again.

Customers overwhelmingly rate the Vredestein Wintrac Pro's winter traction as excellent, with most scoring 9s and 10s for snow and deep snow grip. Ice traction also impresses, though a few ratings dip to 7-8, still reflecting strong cold-weather confidence.

...They are the best tire I've used in light snow, and wet slush, on any vehicle.
This is the second set of these tires I've put on this car, and I came back to them simply because of how awesome they were the first time. They do tend to get noisy at end-of-life (30,000+ miles), but hold grip well. They are the best tire I've used in light snow, and wet slush, on any vehicle.

...The tires show very little wear, despite having driven on them all Summer...
Great tire. I have two nearly identical Audi SQ8 vehicles, and I bought one set of these tires in the 22-inch size. After seeing that the tires worked well in the winter, I bought another set roughly a month later for our other Audi SQ8. Both sets of the tires have been terrific. We ended up driving on these tires all year long, although we only put 5,000 miles on one of the vehicles, and 10,000 miles on the other. The tires show very little wear, despite having driven on them all Summer. The big surprise is that its almost not noticeable that we're driving on winter tires. There's no tread squirm nor any feeling that we're on soft tires, even in the Summer. They just feel like high quality all season tires. If you want to drive crazy (I haven't done that in some years), I think there might be better Summer-only tires available for these vehicles, but for us, living in Pennsylvania where we get snow for a few months of the year, and quite a bit of rain throughout the year, in addition to warm Summers, these tires are fantastic. I can't imagine anything better for all-year usage. I think the weight of the vehicles (something close to 5,000 pounds) probably helps these tires maintain great traction in wet and snow, so I can't be sure that these tires would be as good in rain and snow on a light-weight vehicle. But on our two Audi SQ8 vehicles, these tires are really good. In terms of driving on snow, we've had no problems. We've only had the ABS system kick-in a couple times; once approaching a stop at the bottom of a snow/ice covered hill (but the tires got traction within 5 or 10 feet, so the ABS activation was for only a second or two, and there was no instability); and the other was on a flat surface at a stop sign where we were on glare ice; in that situation the ABS system activated but the vehicle got traction within 10 or 15 feet, and there was no instability. I'd say it was as good as any other winter tires I've had. Great tires.

These winter tires are excellent; I would rank them as very comparable to Michelin Ice-X 2s which I loved. Of course, they are, by their nature, more noisy than my summer tires (Michelins) that came with the vehicle but that is not a deterrent. They have excellent feedback through the steering and braking which in winter is important. As I live on the top of a hill their ability to get me up a long curved road is essential and they do that very well. Absolutely no complaints at all. They wear like iron as well.

...Wear rate looks like I'll get 3 winters and ~20k miles out of them.
Handles well enough to use year round. Wet and dry grip are decent and very predictable. Handling is excellent for a snow tire, but it's still a snow tire. Overall better driving experience than previous Michelin x-ice 3. Snow and ice grip are good enough to daily drive in winter. Wear rate looks like I'll get 3 winters and ~20k miles out of them.
