The Pinza AT is Vredestein's On-Road All-Terrain tire designed for the drivers of pickup trucks, crossovers and full-size SUVs looking for a tire with off-road capabilities that retains its on-road comfort and stability. By blending traditional all-terrain design elements with highway-centric features, the Pinza AT aims to provide traction in a variety of difficult road conditions, including light snow traction that meets the tire industry's severe snow service rating requirements and earns the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.

Vredestein Pinza AT Callouts

Utilizing a computer-aided design, the Pinza AT's four groove tread pattern is built to provide a rugged, off-road look that retains respectable road manners. The multi-pitched pattern employs aggressive biting edges in the shoulder elements along with a higher void ratio for good loose-surface grip. Full depth siping and large zig zag circumferential grooves help increase wet weather traction and hydroplaning resistance for enhanced confidence in wet and wintry weather.

The internal construction of the Pinza AT features either a robust 2-ply casing in Euro Metric sizes or a 3-ply Triplex Casing design in LT Metric sizes featuring Vredestein's Jointless Hexabead Technology for severe duty endurance. The twin steel belts utilize edge protectors and are capped with a nylon ply for enhanced high-speed composure.

Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol may provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.

...Drove last night 50 miles in a mix of heavy rain, wet snow, sleet and ice on I95 and did not slip at all... I do think they are most stable in wet weather...

I bought these tires in 2018 for my Audi Q5 TDI hoping that they would be a great all-weather tire. Did tons of research and settled on a brand I had never heard of before. After 10,000 miles of driving fairly aggressively in all New England weather condition, rain, snow, ice, I have to say I would buy these again. Drove last night 50 miles in a mix of heavy rain, wet snow, sleet and ice on I95 and did not slip at all. While these may not be great for heavy, deep snow (they are not a snow tire), I have felt very safe driving in most weather conditions. I do think they are most stable in wet weather, dry weather cornering misses the mark a bit (off ramps at 50 mph, but that may be the limit of my vehicle) but again I was going for the best across a range on conditions and I have found that to be the case. Just coming on TireRack to buy a set for my daughter's 2015 Jeep and decided to leave a review.

...In the short time I have driven these tires I have sliced through water that caused big waves to be thrown out from the car in front of me on the freeway in the rain. My car stayed stable with no problem. I tried emergency braking on late night/early morning rain soaked, deserted 50mph city streets. The car stayed straight with no anti-lock braking or stability control...

How can I rate a tire so high with so few miles? 50 years of driving helps. Applying Vic Elford's driving techniques from his book to the best of my ability over the last 20 years. Driving the grip limits of tires can only be safely done on a race track. Public roads require different considerations of lane width, shoulder width, condition of the road, weather and visibility to name a few.
I have, within a radius of 10 miles of where I live, two lane winding roads, switchbacks, s-turns, freeways, various types of on and off ramps, narrow and wide city streets.
NOW FOR THE TIRES: The Vredestein tires received excellent reviews for wet/dry performance that influenced my purchase. Tire Rack Experts greatly helped in selecting the rear tires (KUMHO "Sport Touring" 225/65/15) for my older Porsche 911). In the short time I have driven these tires I have sliced through water that caused big waves to be thrown out from the car in front of me on the freeway in the rain. My car stayed stable with no problem. I tried "emergency braking" on late night/early morning rain soaked, deserted 50mph city streets. The car stayed straight with no anti-lock braking or stability control. As expected, dry pavement performed as expected.
With the 225mm tires on the rear I now have "the same" width ratio between the front and rear tires that is as close as possible to the OEM PORSCHE design 185mm FRONT and 215mm rear that is now only available in VERY EXPENSIVE tires. I am very happy that I listened to the advise of my Tire Rack representative.

These tires are very good in snow of all types: a dusting, inches of fresh snow, and packed snow... Keep in mind that these are not Bridgestones Blizzak WS-80's ( the best winter tires in my opinion) but they are better on snow than any other all-weather tire I have driven. If you push these tires on snow they will let go...

These Vredestein Quatrac 5 tires may be the best "all weather" tires I have owned. It may be the car, but traction is different cornering vs. accelerating. These tires corner superbly on both wet and dry pavement. It is like driving a slot car. I have pushed these tires hard in turns and they have yet to let go. Launching off the line the tires will skid a bit, even on dry pavement. This straight-line behavior seems to be only on hard acceleration as the tires grip very well in braking. But it is not every day that one needs to beat the kid in the rally-modified Honda Civic off the line to get past the utility vehicle up ahead.

ONE NOTE: I HAD TO PLUS SIZE FROM 205-65-16 TO 215-60-16 IN ORDER TO PURCHASE THESE FOR MY 2012 CAMRY. One wonders why Vredestein would not make a direct size replacement tire for one of the most driven cars on the road.

The Vredestein Quatrac 5 bears the Alpine symbol on its sidewall, so I did not swap summer for winter this season to test its capabilities. These tires are very good in snow of all types: a dusting, inches of fresh snow, and packed snow. Keep in mind that these are not Bridgestones Blizzak WS-80's (the best winter tires in my opinion) but they are better on snow than any other all-weather tire I have driven. If you push these tires on snow they will let go. You do have to push them though. And, performing a FWD reverse spin in a snow-covered parking lot is difficult because the tires grip so well. I really had to punch it to get the front end to swing around and the donut stopped immediately when I let off the accelerator.

I will continue to swap Blizzaks onto my wife's 2013 Camry each winter. However, my Continental Winter Contacts will stay in the garage for the rest of this winter. Maybe they won't be as good with 20,000 miles' wear on them next winter. If I can I will update this review at that time.

I live in southern MN and we just got hit with about 13" of snow in the last 2 days, My Kia drove like a beast through messy, snow covered streets, through all the sandy, salty slop, and over the icy roads. The hill I live at the top of, I never would've been able to drive up it last winter. I drive mountains to the highway and find that these tires deliver very strong Dry Traction and Curve Response. Much better than most I've used, except for the Michelin Pilot series, less Wet traction response is fair. Noise is low, but in reading the other readers responses, those that rate the tires as High Noise, drive cars like Subis, and in my experience is much less insolated car in comparison to the Volvo 960 or any Volvo. Overall, this tire is very impressive, but no winter driving as of yet to report. (I might) report on this later. Also. A good value tire!

I agree with one reviewer who states that these are not performance tires. There is some delay on initial turn in. I have changed my cornering to compensate. It just took awhile to "learn" the tires response to inputs. With that being said, I would still buy these tires again. Traction (wet and dry) is superior. Stopping is sure and straight (wet and dry). These tires do not transmit sharp jolts from what passes as "rural roads" in Pennsylvania. They are surprisingly quiet given the aggressive looking tread.

This tire is a smooth, quiet ride. For the every day average driver, this is proabably the best tire available in this size (205/50r15). But if you're looking for a responsive, good on the curves & corners, this not your tire! If I was driving my Miata on the highway every day, I would love this tire - seriously. Tesla Model 3 AWD - Northeast Florida

Just purchased these tires and had Discount Tire install them for me. These tires are noticeably quieter than the OEM MXM4, and they don't even have the foam walls that could fall off and make noises. They stick well to the ground and is a comfortable ride. I do not know about wear yet, but with average style driving, I should be able to get the rated wear of 40k on these tires. I drove average on the OEM and got 48k from them while spirited drivers get 10-20k. As far as efficiency, these seems to be slightly less efficient than the OEMs. I track about 4.3 mi/kwh so far with about 500 miles driven (60/40 city/hwy).

One difference about these tires is that they have four(4) grooves instead of three(3) as shown in the pictures. I'm not sure why, but the OEMs also had four grooves, so I don't really mind.

So far, I'm pretty happy with these tires and would highly recommend them at this time.

235/55R-18 Vredestein Quatrac 5 SL tyres offer a significantly more comfortable ride than prior Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season, as well as being quieter. Wear has been minimal and not noticeable, unlike my prior tyre. I have a greater sense of confidence driving in wet or snowy conditions - one of the major factors prompting my purchase so close to Christmas (Colorado Traction Law). Have not had any issues, gas mileage has not diminished, and I couldn't be happier with the value. A quality tyre at affordable price. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend for your vehicle. I don't drive crazy, tough do like to enjoy a spirited driving experience.
