The ADVAN Sport is Yokohama's Max Performance Summer tire developed for the drivers of sophisticated sports cars, sports coupes and high performance sedans. The ADVAN Sport is designed to combine a high degree of comfort, high-speed durability, and a high level of traction in dry and wet conditions. Like all summer tires, the ADVAN Sport is not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.
The ADVAN Sport features a silica blend tread compound developed to provide grip that's less affected by ambient temperatures. The compound is molded into an asymmetric tread pattern featuring five main ribs including a massive, outboard shoulder zone to blend handling with ride and noise comfort. Four wide, circumferential grooves help water flow through the footprint to resist hydroplaning.
The tire's internal structure features two wide steel belts reinforced by spirally wound nylon cap plies to provide strength and uniform ride quality, while the sidewalls are tuned to resist lateral deflection and provide predictable handling.

Testing Dunlop's Latest Max Performance Summer Tire (03:37)
Max Performance Summer tires blend the latest technologies into a package that can maximize acceleration, braking and cornering power while remaining civilized enough for the daily commute or a night on the town.
The Sport Maxx TT is the newest from Dunlop in this category. It combines a motorsports-inspired tread compound with Touch Technology for enhanced tire-to-driver communication and Kevlar-reinforced sidewalls for handling. Has it maximized Max Performance? We found out when we compared it to three popular tires.
Drivers consistently rate the Yokohama ADVAN Sport tire excellent for dry traction, with many scoring 9-10 for confident cornering and responsive handling. Wet traction receives generally positive feedback (scores 7-8), though some note reduced grip in heavy rain. Comfort earns praise for a smooth ride, but a few mention noticeable road noise. Treadwear shows mixed results-some report impressive longevity with scores 8-10, while others experience quicker wear (scores 0-4), suggesting variability based on driving style. As a max performance summer tire, it excels in dry conditions while balancing wet capability, making it a strong choice for enthusiasts prioritizing dynamic handling.

...In wet conditions they instill confidence. Cornering is very stable with lots of feedback...
I have the full JCW suspention and with the factory run flats the ride was very choppy especially in the city. I wanted a tire that could match the suspension but give an acceptable ride for daily commuting, with the ocassional track day thown in. The Advan Sport fits this criteria and the nimble feeling of the MINI has been retained. Dry traction on these tires are excellent. In wet conditions they instill confidence. Cornering is very stable with lots of feedback. Turn in could be a little more responsive, but that is the trade off for the outstanding ride comfort. These tires excell at highway speeds. They do not tramline and are quiet for a performance tire, even on rain grooved surfaces. I am hoping to get a least 17-18k miles out of a set of four. I drive about that many miles per year and a new set of tires and an alignment once a year is totally acceptable for the way drive. I will be taking the car to the track in October and will try to give an update on how the tires do there. So far, I am very pleased. Thanks to the Tire Rack associate who recommended these and with the $40 rebate, these tires should not be passed up by anyone with a MINI Cooper S or JCW.

Using these on a 350Z for track days, excellent tires on both dry and rainy days. These are a great step on the path to real racing compounds. I've had much better high temp performance on track with these than w/others like Pilot Sports. The Pilots overheated and started deforming the tread blocks, under same conditions the next day these held up perfectly, never overheated. For their price they are a great tire to use while building skills.

I've used many performance tires and i have to say that as far as PERFORMANCE this is one of the best tires i have used. they're very responsive in both wet/dry conditions. i drive my vehicle very aggressively and the tires never seem to give out even while on the track (autocross). there wear is okay but then again it's a performance tire so it's no surprise and it was somewhat expected. As far as the ride quality goes forget it, if you want comfort these are not the tires for you. road noise? unbelievable they're extremely loud at any speed weather it's 5mph or 65mph LOUD. would i buy this tire again ? probably do i regret buying this tire ? no. I'm the type that likes to sacrifice comfort and noise over performance. and this tire performs very very very well.

...These tires are amazing. There seem to be no compromises, they do everything well and are quiet to boot...
I almost didnt buy this car because of how loud the OEM 19" Potenzas were. 20K miles later and the Potenzas came off and the ADVAN Sports on. These tires are amazing. There seem to be no compromises, they do everything well and are quiet to boot. I just replaced the tires on my SLK 55 the week before with P Zero Nero M & Ss and I wish I would have gotten the Advan Sports. The Perillis are great tires but the Yokohamas are exceptional.

...The tires are great on the street. They do squeal quite a bit, so if youre still learning your car then they give plenty of warning, though if youre experienced its a bit annoying. On the track theyre not so great, but they make a nice compromise in my opinion, as they offer ultra-crisp turn-in and lots of traction, which is particularly important in a modified 1980s-era turbocharged Porsche which suffers from light switch type power...
I went to these when I traded the 15" "Fuchs" style wheels on the car that had some decent Yokohamas on the front and some crappy Goodyears on the back. The change to 17" 993 Turbo Twist style wheels altered the handling to virtually the same degree as a spring rate or strut upgrade would; I got a little more than expected.
The tires are great on the street. They do squeal quite a bit, so if youre still learning your car then they give plenty of warning, though if youre experienced its a bit annoying. On the track theyre not so great, but they make a nice compromise in my opinion, as they offer ultra-crisp turn-in and lots of traction, which is particularly important in a modified 1980s-era turbocharged Porsche which suffers from "light switch" type power.
All that applies to dry streets. This changes completely on a wet surface. I rarely drive my car in rain as its more a toy than anything, so when I ventured out onto the freeway one day in the rain (no standing water, just wet) I got a bit more drama than I would have otherwise preferred, coming in the form of a tap of the throttle at 80mph, where the subsequent few psi of boost in 5th gear put my car into a slide that had me fighting it at the opposite lock while delicately feathering the throttle and holding back feelings of distress. The onlookers in minivans and Camrys were not amused. Youd expect wide high-performance tires to be tricky in the rain, but of all my friends tires these seem like ice skates.
Otherwise, great tire. They seem to wear a bit fast, but perhaps thats my driving style. Id replace them with the same for non-track applications.

...They are quiet, even when pushed. Sidewalls are stiff to go with the solid predictable grip...
In the last 10 years these are easily the best summer tires I've had for the car. They are quiet, even when pushed. Sidewalls are stiff to go with the solid predictable grip. I'm bad at rotating on time, but treadwear has been great for a summer tire - especially with this much performance at this price. Even a recent wet lapping day didn't phase them.

...Quiet and relatively comfortable with parallel cornering and stability.
Very good tire. Had the Bridgestone 050A and Advan 046 before and this tire is much better. Quiet and relatively comfortable with parallel cornering and stability. High speed stability is also improved. Tire grips from the first minute and holds on despite hot weather and punishing ride !! Nice to see Yokohama bringing out such an advanced product. Highly recommended for those who use the car for DD with spirited driving. Tread wear is very good for now !

...The Yokahama Sport are VERY quiet and excellent in absorbing small bumps and road imperfections...
Very impressive tire. Had the Bridgestone RE050A and hated them. Noisy and bouncy (good turn in / hard sidewall). Had the Dunlop 9000 which were decent but turn-in was soft. The Yokahama Sport are VERY quiet and excellent in absorbing small bumps and road imperfections. They grip from cold and hold on very long. No deterioration in grip as temperature rises ! Very sticky tire. Turn in felt soft at the recommended air pressure. Added 3 PSI all around and the tire transformed. It now has very good turn in !!! Very good tire ! I did not find its limitations yet. Probably less adhesive at max G then OEM tires but I did not detect this so far. Highly recommended !

...Immediately I felt the difference with the new Advan S. Feel and comfort improved, probably more filtered than the ContiSport but driving pleasure now suits me better...
Bought these tires to replace the Continental ContiSport 3 which were OEM on my car, which had only 15,000 km in them.
Immediately I felt the difference with the new Advan S . Feel and comfort improved, probably more filtered than the ContiSport but driving pleasure now suits me better, and by the way these Advan S are not N rated (Porsche recommends only N rated tires) and so far they deliver.
Will post more after the first 1000 km.

...I had three track days and daily comuting and the tire wear has been excellent. I have about 4/32 of remaining tread after 25k miles and should be able to squeeze another track day and a few thousand more miles...
This is quite possibly the best tire I have every driven. I ditched the Contis after only 10k miles and replaced with the ADVAN Sports and the car handles like a dream. This is a daily driver and I also take the car to the track for DE and this tire has handled everything I can throw at it. It took a little testing to find the right tire pressure but after I added 3 lbs to the rear and 2 to the front the tire transformed into near R compound like performance. I had three track days and daily comuting and the tire wear has been excellent. I have about 4/32 of remaining tread after 25k miles and should be able to squeeze another track day and a few thousand more miles. I will be replacing with the same tires. I can only compare this tire to CSC2 and Bridgestone RE050 Pole Position and the ADVAN is a much smoother quieter ride that gives much more confidence when pushed to its limits. As long as Yokohama keeps making this tire I will keep buying it.

...Very predictable when pushed hard and tire wear is less than the Good Year tires even though the Advan Sport is rated at 180 as to wear. Have over 440 mile hard track miles on the tires and the wear pattern are fairly even across the tire even though the car has not had any special alignment done for track use...
Wore out the stock Good Years tires that came on my Vet and wanted to try a tire that would hopefully provide better cornering traction and overall handling. The Advan Sport reduced my times at Spring Mountain Road Course in Nevada by over 3 second a lap. Very predictable when pushed hard and tire wear is less than the Good Year tires even though the Advan Sport is rated at 180 as to wear. Have over 440 mile hard track miles on the tires and the wear pattern are fairly even across the tire even though the car has not had any special alignment done for track use. I would say this is a rather amazing tire for a summer performance tire.
