Consumer feedback shows the Yokohama AVID GT delivers strong comfort with many praising its smooth ride, though some note inconsistent noise levels. Treadwear scores raise concerns, with frequent low ratings indicating premature wear. Winter traction is a weak point, with many scores below 5 highlighting limited capability in snow and ice. Wet traction earns positive marks (7-8 range) for reliable grip, though hydroplaning resistance shows mixed results. Dry traction stands out as a strength, with high scores (8-10) for confident handling and stability. While excelling in comfort and dry performance, buyers prioritizing longevity or severe winter conditions may find limitations.

...Dry, wet, light snow they don't disappoint...
Performance is great. Dry,wet, light snow they don’t disappoint. They are loud, some road surface worse than others but much louder than previous Cooper RS3~G1 which are not available in my size Would I buy again? Not sure, may try Cooper Cobra Instinct or a different Yoko tire.

...But there has been a lot of rain since getting the car and these feel extremely secure, handling remains agile making me feel very confident on wet rainy roads...
This is the stock tire on my new Subaru Legacy Limited XT and I was very pleasantly surprised. I've come to not expect the best from an OEM tire but these are excellent in every condition I've driven on. It will be a while before there's any snow here to make any assessment on snow handling. But there has been a lot of rain since getting the car and these feel extremely secure, handling remains agile making me feel very confident on wet rainy roads. Dry handling has also been excellent with very good steering response and secure footing on twisty curving sections. In addition, perhaps not as important, these are very good looking tires. I'm proud to have them on my car and would definitely buy them again unless they prove horrible on snowy roads which I wouldn't expect.

...They have performed well so far in dry and wet weather conditions and I have no complaints...
The tires have been great so far. They are quiet, smooth riding and feel stable while corning. They have performed well so far in dry and wet weather conditions and I have no complaints. We recently received a couple feet of snow and the tires performed remarkably well for an all season. On roads with a couple inches or less they gripped well and performed surprisingly well. In deeper snow, taking off from a dead stop and traveling in relatively straight lines at a reasonable speed for the conditions they did a decent job. Corning in deep snow, they struggled with traction, but that is to be expected from an all season. Drive to the road conditions and they are a good all around tire.

...They were comfortable and quiet from day one, and provided excellent traction under all conditions...
These were original equipment on our 2022 Outback. They were comfortable and quiet from day one, and provided excellent traction under all conditions, including one bad snowstorm where my wife found herself driving down I-71 in a caravan with several other Subarus having no problems at all while other vehicles were spinning out. The tires were not quite worn down to the wear bars, but the car had gone out of alignment and the inner tread was gone, so new tires were in order. I was surprised at how poorly rated these tires were based on our experience. They have been replaced with Yokohama Avid Ascend GTs; I expect these will do even better based on the reviews.

...Overall these tires have exceeded my expectations, primarily due to ride comfort...
These were the OEM tires on my Corolla Hybrid. I have been extremely pleased with them. At 71,000 miles, I am replacing them with wear bars not quite showing. I would note that I drive primarily in mild climate areas. However, I have driven many hundreds of miles on gravel, well-graded dirt, and light snow on asphalt. I would not regard these tires as ideally suited for these conditions, but then, neither is the car. Overall these tires have exceeded my expectations, primarily due to ride comfort and the fact that they have far exceeded the treadlife predicted by the treadwear rating.

...The tire is so quite, smooth riding and handles all the power like a champ...
This tire is made for my Toyota RAV4 plugin hybrid that has 302 horse power, all wheel drive and weighs 4300 lbs. The tire is so quite, smooth riding and handles all the power like a champ. I would highly recommend this tire for a high performance vehicle that is engineered to keep you safe and confident in the capably of the tire and the vehicle. these tire are original equipment on my car.

Winter traction ratings for the Yokohama AVID GT show concerning scores, with many customers reporting 0-5s for snow/ice performance. Frequent mentions of slippery conditions, loss of traction, and getting stuck highlight its lack of winter capability despite being an all-season tire. Some 7-10s exist but are overshadowed by widespread dissatisfaction.

The winter performance of these tires on an all wheel drive Subaru was lower than balding summer tires on a Pontiac I rented once. Unbelievably bad tires for winter. acceptable for other seasons, but not very grippy and wet performance not good.

I did not purchase these tires off tire rack, however they came on a used 2024 outback xt(which is what subaru puts on all new subarus)...if you live in an area with snow do not purchase these, barely manageable in light snow let alone heavy snow, there is zero confidence with these tires in the snow (braking, turning, accelerating) none of it, which is annoying after spending 35k on an awd vehicle that "what makes a subaru a subaru" and now spending more money on better all seasons....there are much better tires out there do your research, cant believe Subaru would go with these other than Yokohama being a Japanese company as well, do better Subaru

...Found out the hard way that in cold temps they turn into a hockey puck. Useless in even a small amount of snow...
So utterly embarrassing that Subaru puts these on the otherwise capable Legacy. Found out the hard way that in cold temps they turn into a hockey puck. Useless in even a small amount of snow. Perfectly fine in summer, but for a Subaru buyer that's almost irrelevant.

Mixed treadwear ratings with concerning 0-5 scores (unacceptable tread life, premature wear) alongside some 9s-10s. Many customers report rapid wear, needing early replacement despite being Grand Touring All-Season.

I'm mostly writing to reference the below average tread life. I do 95% highway and city driving & 5% dirt/gravel. I occasionally tow a very light boat in both conditions. We've had the tires rotated every 6k-ish by the dealer. Unfortunately, the tires are down to 3/32 which is unacceptable for the mileage and driving conditions. I cannot recommend these tires.

The Avia GT supplied with Subarus are an OEM tire. Yokohama told me that they did not guarantee mileage on these tires. At 23.200 miles I have 5/32 tread life. My car will be two years old tomorrow. I had expected at least 3 years service life. I will definitely NOT be buying Yokohama replacement tires.
