For many years I have admired these wheels and think they do improve the appearance of my old vehicle. In fact, I get compliments regularly. To my dismay, even though they are branded “American Racing “, stamped on the inside of the wheel are the words made in China.

The wheels have an "old school" look that I really like.
They definitely dressed up the truck over the factory "mag" wheels that I was tired of looking at.
They remind me of "mag" wheels from the 1970's and 1980's.
Wheel is fine but lug nuts all rusted very quickly. Just as many other people have mentioned. The look is great. I really like, it has made the suv look nice.
Just need to do update the quality of the lug nuts and all will be fine. Its a good idea in hindsight to wax and protect the wheel as soon as you get it including of course the lug nuts.
I love these rims when they were new. They look very sharp on my '97 F-150, compared with the stock rims, and they had a slight offset that looks really good. One thing I don't like is that the nuts started to rust quite fast. Also, the rims started to corrode quite a bit on the inside area with the typical corrosion signs for aluminum. You've got to be careful to clean these rims often, and coat them somehow to prevent corrosion. Otherwise, they will become pitted with corrosion. Here in Michigan the road salt can cause lots of trouble with corrosion.
I love the looks of the wheels on my truck. The quality of the finish on the wheels could be a lot better. Prior to installing I cleaned them then applied a spray ceramic coating. There are some marks around most of the slots/holes on all four wheels that appears to me that the clear finish is peeling away. I do keep them clean and have applied the spray ceramic coating two more times over the past year since my purchase.
I was looking for something simple to give the ol’ Danger Ranger a different look. These reminded me of the mag rims my dad had on his old truck when I was younger and I needed new tires anyway, so I bought the as a set already mounted. They were just what the truck needed and I get a lot of compliments on them.
I just buyers to know that it's not easy cleaning these wheels because of all the rivets on them. Also, the finish comes off early. I had mine for over a year when one of the wheels chrome finishes started to deteriorate.
I bought a wheel and tire package the ar62 outlaw|| wheels and the cooper discover AT3 tires for my 1997 Chevrolet Tahoe the help I got from tire rack sales rep. Waylon was excellent I said I wanted to keep a factory fit and Waylon put the package together perfectly they shipped in about 4 to 5 days mounted and balance they look great on my truck tire rack did a excellent job ask for Waylon
Great looking classic American Racing design. Appear strong and have a great factory finish.
I've had these for thirteen years now, glad to see they are still available. My center caps are plastic (with American Racing logo) so no rusting there. The supplied lug nuts are lightly rusted. I bought a set of five wheels and my spare was under the bed for a number of years. When I finally took it out, the clear coat had some small lines of corrosion. The truck was not driven on salted roads so I'm not sure how that happened. Still perfectly functional, just an aesthetic thing. My stock offset is 12mm and the 14 inch AR wheel is 6mm. Which is only a quarter inch but I gave 9/10 for fitment score--I don't expect more wheel bearing wear but this is not an exact replacement for OEM.
Bottom line: these wheels make me happy when I look at my truck.
I'm in the process of bringing a '92 Toyota Pickup to life. It had sat for several years, but in great shape. Of course wheels, and tires were a must. I was going to order online, but decided to call. I'm so glad I did. After talking with Brad I found that no distribution center had all 4 wheels and tires to make up the set. But, Brad hooked me up with no problem. He found two wheels and tires in Neveda, and the other 2 in Indiana. Even with that they all arrived within 5 days. The tires were mounted, and balanced to perfection. All I had to do was set the psi where I wanted, and mount the set. What a difference they make on my little truck. Kudos to Tire Rack, and to Brad for great customer service.
I installed these wheels (15X8) with Dick Cepek Fun Country tires (31X10.5) on my 1995 Jeep Wrangler with stock suspension and no lift. They are beautiful! The wheel and tire package transformed my Jeep from an econo box into a real looker! I get so many compliments from strangers on my Jeep--and it is 23 years old, stock, with just the new wheels, tires, and tube bumpers. The wheels aren't very intricate so they are easy to keep clean. I purchased McGuard wheel locks to keep them from finding a new home.
The fitment is rated by Tire Rack as "aggressive," but I did not have any issues. For additional details look for my tire review. I did need to buy a star wrench to re-torque the lugs, but that is to be expected with wider wheels and tires. I'm just mentioning this so readers can plan ahead if they're self-installing.
I was looking for stock Jeep "Gambler" or "bullet hole" wheels from the 1990s, but it was impossible to find a set that wasn't already destroyed. These American Racing wheels are very high-quality, and the cost from Tire Rack was reasonable for perfect, new wheels. They're just the right look that balances an old-school style with a modern flair.

Great wheel style and construction. Always has been that's why it's still around since the late 80's. Easy to keep clean and you don't need to polish them. Buying at Tirerack.com was a great experience. Worked with Hunter Leffel and he did a great job with communicating. Answered all my questions and sent me pics of what was included with these wheels.
