I ordered the 17"x8" AR105 Torq-Thrust M Anthrite wheels, with a set of OEM LT285/70R-17 BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 C-rated tires. They arrived ASTOUNDINGLY quick, in fact two days earlier than expected. They fit onto my new Rubicon Unlimited Jeep just perfectly. There are no clearance issues on the street, if I encounter any off-road then I'll update this review with details about such.
Also surprisingly the new Tire Pressure Sensors I had installed in the mag wheels, LINKED very quickly to my vehicle.(i.e. within just 1 mile of driving on them) Balance was perfect and everything was included for an easy swap. On a side note, I temporarily installed two of the wheels just to check size and fit. In that endeavor however, I ended up forgetting to remove one of the (plastic) Centering Rings when I reinstalled the factory wheels. I wondered why it was taking so-long to tighten down my RR wheel? I ended up crushing the plastic spacer by accident...oops! I made a quick call to TIRE RACK to explain my dilemma and see if I could order a pair of Metal Centering Rings. No metal rings were available in the size I needed, but TIRE RACK went above/beyond the call of duty by shipping me a second set of plastic Centering Rings. THIS IS JUST ONE REASON, TIRE RACK GETS MY REPEAT BUSINESS, OVER AND OVER AGAIN!
The wheels look great but the clearcoat on the lips will allow the aluminum underneath to oxidize. I keep the wheels clean, wax then regularly, remove them in the winter to protect from temperature variations, and they never get wet but once the 1 year warranty expired I noticed slight oxidation starting. Now, 3 of the 4 have oxidation, like the clear coat was too think or peeling, and I must replace them.
I bought a set of these wheels for my 67 GTO, wanting to have something that was somewhat retro, but also had a touch of a modern look. I put Conti ExtremeContact tires on them, and the combo is sharp. When I put them on the car at the shop, I had a lot of people checking out the *wheels*, not the car. ;) They really did what I wanted with the look, and I think I need to see if I can get a referral bonus from Tire Rack, since I think I sold a few more sets of these...
