This wheel in my opinion is an excellent choice, both for appearance and functionality and price. I have a black 2012 5-door WRX and the gold wheels really make it stand-out, maybe too much, but I get compliments on the color scheme. Keeping them clean is a challenge especially with dusting that my race compound brake pads produce. I track my car ~5 times a year and when it came time to upgrade my brakes to larger aftermarket bbk, I decided to move up to 18" wheels. The 18x8 45mm fit perfectly on my vehicle, even with the slight lowering, 3/4 inch, I have with aftermarket springs installed.
These wheels clear my Stoptech 355x32 Front ST-40 BBK and Stoptech 345x28 Rear ST-22 BBK. The clearance is right at the minimum of the front installation and you need to be careful about the balance weight placement or it will scrap (thanks /s DT for ignoring my instructions) the circumference of the caliper or worse if the weights are tall. I had to have my wheels only static balanced rather than dynamic balanced with the weights on the inside rim away from the caliper.
It is quite surprising the variety of cars running the RPF1 at track days, but the quality is great, the price is low, and they are very light weight, all the right ingredients for performance vs. value. When is comes time to run a dedicated track tire compound, I'm seriously considering getting a second set of these wheels.
