Goodridge…Push The Limits

Goodridge G-Stop High Performance Brakeline race-bred street brake lines are constructed from the finest quality hose, consisting of a PTFE inner hose covered by braided stainless steel. In addition to providing a more responsive and firm brake pedal by eliminating the "spongy" feel that often accompanies stock rubber brake lines, G-Stop High Performance Brakelines are abrasion and corrosion resistant to stay good looking for a long time to come.

Goodridge G-Stop High Performance Brakeline Kits are direct bolt-on replacements for all of the rubber brake lines in the vehicle's brake system. (Three to six brake lines are included in each kit depending on the vehicle's original design). To ensure proper fit and easy installation, hose ends and brake line brackets that match the vehicle's original equipment style are used for each application.

By conforming to all requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard Number 106, Goodridge G-Stop High Performance Brakelines are U.S. Department of Transportation certified and T.U.V. approved. All Goodridge G-Stop High Performance Brakelines go through a 9-point Quality Assurance testing process that includes measuring tensile strength and the ability to contain line pressure to 3,000 pounds per square inch.

TL;DR: These stainless steel brake lines improve braking consistency by delivering a more linear, predictable pedal feel. They don’t increase brake bite, but they significantly reduce pedal compliance, minimize line expansion, and maintain consistent pedal response across temperature and braking loads when paired with quality brake fluid.

    Long Review:

I recently had these brake lines installed along with a brake fluid flush over to Motul RBF 5.1. After getting my car from the shop, I immediately noticed a different pedal feel. It was subtle under light braking, but the minor slop in the brake pedal was completely erased. The braking pressure in relation to my braking force is extremely linear and predictable.

I went on three canyon runs to really put these brakes through their paces. Myself and two of my friends drove my car on these runs. They both have had prior experience with my car and they ve stated that they enjoyed the immediately responsive and linear feel of my brake pedal with these lines in under soft or hard (0.5-0.7G) braking.

These lines have only increased the communication between the car and my mind, furthering my confidence. Additionally, due to the more responsive and less sloppy braking, the inputs that ESP and EBD see in my vehicle appear to improve intervention consistency and brake balancing which helps greatly under using ESP as a brake vectoring system under high lateral loads (0.7G+) with more precise trimming of wheel speed to manage the driver s intended line.

Even during daily driving, such as commuting, these brake lines have improved my pedal feel and response. Again, nothing magical. Just pair the right brake fluid, tire pressure, and proper alignment, and this addition to your car will make it easier for the car to talk to you and tell you its intentions.

My MDX is coming up on 12 years old so it was time to change the brake lines. I decided on stainless steel braided lines by Goodridge to help provide a firm brake feel, and these certainly delivered, along with new StopTech upgraded slotted and drilled rotors and towing pads. People often over look adding upgraded braided lines to improve over all feel and performance, as they eliminate the “sponginess” and improve response times.
