The Blizzak DM-V2 is Bridgestone's Light Truck/SUV Studless Ice & Snow winter tire developed for the drivers of pickup, crossover and sport utility vehicles looking for enhanced grip in slush, snow and on ice. Designed with a focus on ice traction and braking, as well as wet road handling and hydroplaning resistance, the Blizzak DM-V2 offers wintertime driving competence.
Blizzak DM-V2 tires use Bridgestone's adaptive NanoPro Tech Multicell compound that features a water-loving hydrophilic coating and microscopic bite particles. The Multicell compound remains flexible in below-freezing conditions, wicks water off packed snow and ice while the bite particles deliver more grip and improve braking on glare ice. This compound is molded into a directional tread design featuring 15% more aggressive block edges (than the Blizzak DM-V1 it replaces) where wide lateral and circumferential grooves help channel water, slush and snow away from the contact area for added traction while 3D zigzag sipes increase the number of snow biting edges.
The Blizzak DM-V2 radial meets the industry's severe snow service requirements and is branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.
NOTE: The first 55% of the Blizzak DM-V2's tread depth features the NanoPro Tech Multicell Compound while the remaining 45% features a standard winter tire compound. When the Blizzak DM-V2 is approximately 50 percent worn, a depth indicator molded into the tread design lets the driver know that the remaining tread is reaching the end of its ability to provide beneficial snow traction.
Install Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2 tires in sets of four only.
Due to the revolutionary traction capabilities of the Blizzak, Bridgestone recommends using them only in sets of four to provide the best handling characteristics and tire performance.

Tire Rack Test Results Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2
Testing Studless Ice & Snow Winter Tires for Crossovers and SUVs(04:23)
There's a common misperception that an SUV's or CUV's advanced systems can create additional traction. They can't. Their purpose is to help the driver make the most of whatever traction their tires can provide.
And for winter season driving, there is none better than a tire from the Studless Ice & Snow category.
We evaluate the category's newest in the most challenging winter condition. Ice.
Owners report excellent winter traction, with standout snow and ice performance (9-10 scores) that inspires confidence in harsh conditions. Wet traction and hydroplaning resistance also earn high marks (8-10), ensuring secure handling in slush and rain. Dry traction and steering responsiveness are consistently praised (7-10), though a few note slightly less precision on clear roads. Ride comfort receives mostly positive feedback (7-10), with some mentioning minor road noise. Treadwear ratings are generally favorable (7-10), though a few users consider it average for a winter tire. Overall, drivers highlight its category-leading snow/ice grip and reliable all-winter versatility.

...I've tried them in snow as deep as 8" and they just charged through it, up and down hills with no issues.
I purchased a complete tire/wheel package from Tire Rack for winter use. We have a long, hilly, gravel lane that can be challenging after a heavy snowfall. I plow it, but there are still slick spots on the hills after the sun has melted a layer of snow. The stock all season Pirelli's on my Jeep Summit could not handle the snow and hills and after getting the Jeep stuck last year on one of the steep spots, I bought this snow tire package. I run these from late December to early March depending on the weather and so far they have been fantastic! I've tried them in snow as deep as 8" and they just charged through it, up and down hills with no issues.

...The traction is literally unmatched and hard to describe.
These tires are AWESOME. Completely blew me away to be honest. Sat my X5 with summer performance tires in garage all last year, decided to get a dedicated snow tire and wheel setup this year…and it was the RIGHT choice. I drive this more than my truck currently. The traction is literally unmatched and hard to describe.

...Dry traction was adequate but steering response and stability both suffer from the tread squirm produced by the generous siping that makes them good in the snow...no surprise there. Wear was very fast on dry roads during the mixed conditions in spring...
The new DM-V2 flavor of Blizzak does not disappoint. These tires provided winter grip on par with an all-terrain on a dry dirt road--truly impressive and confidence-inspiring. Strong points were light snow traction and wet traction (including slush and snowmelt mud). They're not designed to excel swimming thru a foot of powder, go get mud-terrains for that. Ice & packed powder traction was very good, realistically as good as anything out there short of studs. Longitudinal traction was better than lateral which makes sense--braking is arguably the most important loading to work well in winter. A typical winter commute includes a few miles of dirt backroad (barely plowed), 15 miles of 2-lane (reasonably well-plowed, not salted), and 30 miles of highway (plowed, salted & sanded, somewhere between slush and dry). Dry traction was adequate but steering response and stability both suffer from the tread squirm produced by the generous siping that makes them good in the snow...no surprise there. Wear was very fast on dry roads during the mixed conditions in spring. Rubber smell was normal after coming home on a dry day, and tread was noticeably gummy on those days...again, no surprise and clearly optimized for cold temps. But, all tires wear out and fresh ones do better, so the wear is in line with expectation of ~3 years. Will definitely buy again.

...The ride is super comfortable, especially compared to the standard 21" wheels my Explorer comes with...
Highly recommend Bridgestone Blizzaks. This is my 2nd vehicle I have purchased these for. I use these only during the winter on spare wheels, so the miles are low but mainly highway, and daily over 2 mountains on my commute to and from work. The ride is super comfortable, especially compared to the standard 21” wheels my Explorer comes with. The tires slightly are noisy, but it’s barely noticeable, don’t let that stop you from getting. They have handled the snow perfectly, from a light slick dusting, to a heavier, deeper and wet snow. I feel very confident with them on my vehicle.

Great tires!! I lose about 4 MPG running the Blizzaks, but they are well worth it. Wet, snow, ice these tires just keep going. Great traction. The one drawback is that on dry pavement if you are aggressive and overreact on the steering wheel, the car will lurch sideways very quickly. I love my blizzaks in the winter time!!

...One problem, however expected, is comparably short life of these tires due to their soft compound...
Not my first set of Blizzaks. Best winter tires I know. One problem, however expected, is comparably short life of these tires due to their soft compound. Still, highly recommend to all driving in harsh winter conditions, such as we have in Minnesota.
We are starting our second winter with these tires. Throughout the winter our roads are routinely covered in an inch or two of hard packed snow and ice (frozen crud). The tires handle these conditions very well. Overall the tires handle great in snow, slush, ice, wet, and dry roads. So far there is no noticeable tread wear.
I would gladly buy these tires again.
