The Road Venture MT KL71 is Kumho's Off-Road Maximum Traction light truck tire developed for the drivers of 4x4 jeeps, pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles looking for aggressive off-road performance and assertive on-road appearance. The Road Venture MT KL71 is available in large rim diameter sizes designed to be at home in mild to wild on- and off-road conditions.
The Road Venture MT KL71 features a cut- and chip-resistant tread compound molded into a directional pattern comprised of packed center blocks, alternating width shoulder lugs, mud/stone ejector bars and aggressive sidewall lugs that provide the biting edges needed to dig through mud and travel along trails, as well as claw their way through ruts and over rocks. The tire's internal structure includes two high-tensile steel belts reinforced by spirally wrapped nylon for strength and durability. A unique rubber compound under the tread and above the belts helps block out impact shock and noise to enhance ride comfort. A two-ply polyester cord body enhances ride quality while it helps provide protection from on- and off-road stresses.
While Off-Road Maximum Traction tires, which are often called mud tires, are branded with the M+S symbol and able to churn through deep snow, their typical oversize applications and limited use of snow-biting sipes in their large smooth lugs can challenge their on-road wintertime traction on packed snow and icy surfaces.

...Wet or dry, doesnt matter. Really impressive dry/wet on-road grip compared with premium AT tyres... If you hydroplane with these on youre doing something really wrong! They pump water out and stay stuck without wrenching at the wheel or anything...
Wow! These are the best 4x4 tyres Ive ever experienced. Amazingly competent on-road for such an aggressive design. These drive better on-road than my previous Goodyear AT/Rs (silica) and BFG ATs and Dunlop AT2s. Wet or dry, doesnt matter. Really impressive dry/wet on-road grip compared with premium AT tyres, and off-road ability that leaves them for dead. We get a lot of really slippery, clagging clay around here and these just keep going and going and going where the others would put me into a ditch and leave me there. A squeeze of the throttle and they clear the treads and just claw their way forward. They work more like a competition tyre, but with the on-road manners of a good AT. Quiet, too. Not really any noisier than the BFG ATs. I can barely hear them at highway speeds, and the slightest amount of radio covers that. Their only small vice is that they are a bit nobly and rumbly at walking to slow jogging speeds, but otherwise you wouldnt know they were a full-on mud tyre. If you hydroplane with these on youre doing something really wrong! They pump water out and stay stuck without wrenching at the wheel or anything. Well done, Kumho! Top marks. I was going to spend 50% more on Goodyear MTRs but am now really glad I found these instead and didnt waste my money. Theyll probably wear a bit quicker, but such a small price to pay for this awesome performance (and looks). You cant go wrong with these, highly recommended. Bring on the snow :)

...Heavy rain with standing water on the road is no problem at all... Water, sand, mud...these tires will grip and pull you right through...
I've had these tires for a little less than a year. I do an even mix of city/highway/off-road driving. These tires look absolutely sick in person. The pictures definitely don't do them justice. I have been extremely happy with their on-road performance. Heavy rain with standing water on the road is no problem at all. You would expect a lot of noise and a pretty rough ride since they are a mud tire, but they are actually quieter and ride softer than the all-terrains that were on my Jeep when I bought it. Off-road, these tires are AMAZING! Water, sand, mud...these tires will grip and pull you right through. I have crawled though spots without problem that others with higher-priced/big-name tires have had to be pulled through or winched out of right before me. If you are looking for an aggressive-looking, easy-driving, and extremely capable tire, these are your choice. Buy these tires and you will NOT regret it.

Customers praise the KL71's excellent snow and deep snow traction, with most scoring 9s and 10s. Ice performance is mixed, ratings 0-7; some note reduced grip on ice despite the tire's off-road focus.

I live in colorado and they get there share of all sorts of terrain deep snow 18+inches and more to adobe clay they clean very well and drive extremely smooth on the highway... my only complaint is they need bigger sidebiters and the center tread could be sipped that would help with the light snow and ice, but I know a m/t was not designed to be a ice tire but these are fairly good in the ice...
I bought this tire just from the reviews that I have read from here and I couldnt be any happier with them, I have zero wear with them and for a m/t they are just as quiet as the bfgkm2 and a heck of a lot cheaper. I live in colorado and they get there share of all sorts of terrain deep snow 18+inches and more to adobe clay they clean very well and drive extremely smooth on the highway, they use have half the weight that my goodyear highway treads had. my only complaint is they need bigger sidebiters and the center tread could be sipped that would help with the light snow and ice, but I know a m/t was not designed to be a ice tire but these are fairly good in the ice. I pull a snowmobile trailer to the mountains through mud and snow and these are the best I have had.

...They were awesome in the snow and in the woods...
The best tires I have ever had. I also had them on a 1990 Jeep Cherokee that I did some regular off roading and I travelled an average of 500 miles a week for college. They were awesome in the snow and in the woods. I wouldnt buy anything else.

These tires have almost no road noise at all!!! I have not had them off road yet but we did get a bunch of rain and I did loose a little traction in standing water at about 55mph but that is to be expected from a MT...
These are by far the best MT I have ever owned. They have extremely aggressive tread and a very tough look. I have recently had BFG MTs and the noise was almost unbearable at highway speeds. These tires have almost no road noise at all!!! I have not had them off road yet but we did get a bunch of rain and I did loose a little traction in standing water at about 55mph but that is to be expected from a MT. I would recommend these tires for anyone. The price is right also, a lot of tire for the money. I deffinetely found my new brand of tire.

This is an amazing tire traction, looks, cornering, and ride are all excellent. Not for fussy people who can,t tolerate some hum. Very quiet considering what you are getting in traction. The most amazing thing about this tire is how well it performs on the street for a tire that kicks off-road. Plowed through snow over the bumper. Busted through two three foot drifts and got hung, a little shoveling and I was off again. Keep them rotated and they last a long time.

I towed my ATV trailer a lot to the motocross parks and also several long-distance trips as well, and they handle amazingly!...
I just wanted to pass on my experience with these Kuhmo tires. I am NOT kidding regarding the mileage of over 50k miles with these tires! I lifted my truck and replaced the stock 20's with 18's/KL71's 20k miles on my truck. I mainly wanted that mean city look, but these tires are incredible. I towed my ATV trailer a lot to the motocross parks and also several long-distance trips as well, and they handle amazingly! Winter and mud are the most fun with these tires as they grip and get you through anything. The only downside is the road hum, but what do you expect from a MUD TIRE! I could care less with the road noise as it is insignificant next to the Flowmaster exhaust from the Hemi... I still have a lot of tread left for the rest of this year, and will probably replace toward fall. Just wanted to say these tires have been so worth purchasing, and for the price compared to other name tires, I can only highly recommend these to anyone.
Customers praise ride comfort with most scoring 7-10, though noise levels vary with some 0-6 ratings. High scores highlight smooth off-road performance, while lower noise ratings note expected trade-offs for maximum traction tires.

...smooth ride and the way they cut through water on the roads instead of pullin bad like most aggressive mud tires ive previously owned!...
Very aggressive lookin tire n have had a lot of compelments on the way they look! I have a set of 37x13.50x20 on my 04 GMC 2500HD Diesel n i love em! Very impressed by the smooth ride and the way they cut through water on the roads instead of pullin bad like most aggressive mud tires ive previously owned! Only problem i have with them is that ive put around 12,000 miles on them and they seem to be wearing rather quickly, but look what kinda truck there settin under, so would be an incredibly awesome tire for a lighter truck! Overall, very good tire and would recommend them to anyone with a light truck n even maybe for the big ones bc im thinkin bout purchasing another set when mine wear out. Thanks, Matt

This Is My First Set Of Mud Terrain Tires I Just Got Them Put On My Truck And Look Great. Everyone Told Me That MT Tires Give You A Really Bad Ride And Are Noisey While Driving, These Tires Are Very Quite And They Ride Great. You Get A Little Bit Of A Bumpy Ride If You Are On Rough Roads But Its A Stiff Tread, I Fell In Love With These Tires When I first Saw Them On This Site And I Told Myself That I Would Do Anything To Get Them, I Was Not Sure They Were Even Going To Fit But I Had Already Made Plans To Do A Body Lift If They Did Not. Since They Fit I Wont Be Doing A Body Lift And That Even Adds To The Vehicle Look Since Its Not Way Jacked Up Like Other Trucks. Sorry For The Long Review But I Must Say That So Far I Love These Tires And For The Price You Cant Go Wrong. Please Take My Advice And Buy Them, Dont Hessitate. - Drew

...Those that complain about the noise obviously have never had an aggressive tread pattern, these things are quiet. All my other tires I could be heard 1/4 a mile away and sounded like a tank rolling down the road. Now I hear ever little squeek and rattle my 27yr old Toyota Pickup has earned in its life...
Hands down my favorite tire ever!! I was skeptical when I ordered these, since they are directional. I'm a believer now. They handle great on all typical surfaces. We don't get much ice in S. Indiana but when we did these tires have done well. I rotate them at every oil change (roughly 5,000 miles) so this set has a little over 10,000 and wearing good. Those that complain about the noise obviously have never had an aggressive tread pattern, these things are quiet. ...40K miles later they are wearing perfect and have about 5-10K worth of life left... I rotate them every 5K miles and keep 45 PSI in them...
After looking at several mud tires the price finally made me settle on these. I figured I would give them a go. Upon install the tire center said one of the tires was off a bit, upon looking at it you could tell the bead hole had a wobble in it...I decided to let it ride. 40K miles later they are wearing perfect and have about 5-10K worth of life left. I have a 2013 Ford F150 FX4 Supercrew cab. I am always hauling stuff and pulling trailers. My highway speeds are always 80MPH+. I rotate them every 5K miles and keep 45 PSI in them. These tires have performed very exceptional in the mud/snow/ and dirt. IF you are looking for a true mud tire to get down and dirty and don't care about mileage don't look here, the center tread pattern on these is not as aggressive as say a buckshot mudder which is why I believe it has lasted me so long. But if you need a mud tire that has great highway handling and longevity then this is your tire. I have several power mods on my truck, pushing close to 480HP and these tires have even seen speeds of 140MPH, albeit Ive only done that a couple times as they are not rated for that, I was still impressed. I am not sure if its the tire or the power to the ground but I did find out I had a cracked rim the other day I will have to replace. Ford says its a stress crack not due to me hitting anything. I have only plugged one tire due to a nail and it has held for about 10K miles now. The road noise was not bad the first 10K miles but after the second tire rotation it did get a lot louder. While it was bad, when I hit 40K miles I have noticed a huge increase in volume, but I was told by the tire center that would happen as they get close to being worn out. Really that's the only thing negative I have to say about these tires, and I am not sure that would not be the case for any other mud tire. I pulled a 16' trailer through the mud buried to the front air dam for about 40 yards in 4wd low all 4 tires slung mud 20' high and I never slowed down.

I've been having these tires on my truck for a little over 30,000 miles and still have about %40-50 left on them. I rotate every 5,000 miles and wears pretty even I run the highway atlease 70 miles a week and have taking about 6 3-6 hour trips on them. I have been satisfied with these tires. The only mud terrain I have owned out of the 4 brands I have ran is the bfg mt. My worse complain about the tires is they were really quiet when brand new but make some noise now but still not as loud as a swamper or mud grappler. Best thing about the tires is the look and pretty good life I will get out of them
