P Zero tires are Max Performance Summer tires derived from 100 years of Pirelli motorsport experience and developed for the drivers of powerful sports cars, sports coupes and high performance luxury sedans. Initially introduced as Original Equipment on the Aston Martin DB9, Audi R8, Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, Lamborghini Murcielago, Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT and Mercedes-Benz AMG vehicles, the P Zero lineup also includes select replacement tire sizes. Pirelli's warranty does not cover tires that develop compound cracking due to use in ambient temperatures below 45° Fahrenheit (7° Celsius), so the P Zero, like all summer tires, is not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

P Zero tires feature a special silica and carbon black tread compound that proves competent during the first few miles of driving when the tire is still cold, as well as consistent performance throughout the tire's life. The tread compound is molded into Pirelli's S-treme asymmetric design in which the location and width of the circumferential and lateral grooves minimize deformation to blend responsive handling, hydroplaning resistance and wet traction with dry road performance, even wear and acoustic comfort. Special nano-composites in the compound beneath the tread protect the casing from deterioration and merge sport handling with ride comfort. The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by polyamide cord plies and an integration of nylon and aramid cord that controls tire profile deformation and stabilizes the tread area to enhance high-speed capability and handling.

Limited sizes of the P Zero are available with Pirelli Noise Cancelling System, which involves the manufacturer adhering a layer of sound-absorbing foam to the inner liner of the tire to reduce cabin noise in the vehicle. These sizes are identified on the Specs page and in the search results.

...Wet traction seems to be good, and no problems with hydroplaning...

I have a little less than 3,000 miles on these tires that came as OEM on my 2012 BMW M3 Coupe Competition Package. To be honest, I haven't been able to test the limits of the tires yet, except for a few cornering exhibitions when DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) is off, resulting in lots of understeer. Most of my normal driving is city with the occasional highway, but spirited nonetheless. It's starting to get cold now so the tires do take a little time to warm up in the morning, as with every Summer Performance Tire. The problem I am having (and a good problem at that) is that this car is so good, I'm not sure if the cornering stability, steering responsiveness and ride comfort is more the car or the tires. Noise level is non existent since I have a modified exhaust but I'll be sure to monitor as the miles accumulate. I don't have any complaints on these tires as of yet. Wet traction seems to be good, and no problems with hydroplaning. Treadwear won't be an issue to after 10K miles but so far, no unusual wear patterns and tread is even. Based upon the early review, I am happy with them.

...Very good dry traction with good wet traction...

All the other reviews I have read seem to be dead on with my experience. Very good dry traction with good wet traction. Cornering and turn in seem a little softer than I expected, but I haven't driven this car with other tires yet. Could just be the vehicle set up. Assuming the tires on the car were original when I took ownership, I expect the rears to make 15-20k miles and the fronts 20k-30k. Noise levels are better than I expected from reeading other reviews, but still a little noisy.

...Overall, this tires is somewhat expensive, but delivers above and beyond its peers for treadwear, performance, comfort, road feel, and noise. Remember the design focus here is on peak performance, then noise and comfort, and treadwear is last on the list of priorities for this model...

Replaced my stock Goodyear F1 Supercar tires with these after poor wear on the OEM tires. These are rated the same 220 treadwear as the F1 tires, but I went with no stagger and a slightly different tire size. These tires grip and handle slightly better than the spectacular F1's, and are about the same weight (note that tires are "unsprung" weight and tires can vary considerably in weight). With the same tire at all 4 corners, I've experienced no changes in handling and much better treadwear due to being able to rotate the tires. At 4300 lbs, my SRT8 is heavy for a performance-oriented car, so it's really rough on tires - esp. these soft compound ones. With more than 50% of that weight on the fronts, carving out turns really chews them up. Many will complain about the short tread life, but this is the price you pay for high grip. If you want long wear, be prepared to give up some (or a lot) of performance. Overall, this tires is somewhat expensive, but delivers above and beyond its peers for treadwear, performance, comfort, road feel, and noise. Remember the design focus here is on peak performance, then noise and comfort, and treadwear is last on the list of priorities for this model. If that matches your wants/needs - you are unlikely to be disappointed in this tire.

...Daily driving situation: these tires provide quiet and comfort ride compared to regular all-season tires. No wonder these tires are used on luxury performance vehicles; Audi,BMW, Benz, Aston Martin, etc...

First of all, I don't understand why anyone would give bad rating after using these tires on cold/snow covered road. That's just nonsense.
I'm only using this tire in Summer and have taken to few track days with my S4. It doesn't provide the best grip, but it was manageable and predictable. Daily driving situation: these tires provide quiet and comfort ride compared to regular all-season tires. No wonder these tires are used on luxury performance vehicles; Audi,BMW, Benz, Aston Martin, etc. For OEM tires, these are very good tires. If you want to sustain OEM ride, I'd recommend using these tires.

The PZero tires started out as a great match to the C63's handling, but like many others I was disppointed to find that my rear tires had worn down to the wear bars with roughly 4,500 miles on the odometer. Granted, the 451HP engine contributed to this high wear, but I do not do burn outs or break the tires loose on a regular basis. This wear was from what I would call enthusiastic, not abusive driving...

Granted, the 451HP engine contributed to this high wear, but I do not do burn outs or break the tires loose on a regular basis. This wear was from what I would call enthusiastic, not abusive driving. The front tires fared much better and still had about 7/32 of tread left. Other than the extremely low life span of the tires, they performed well both in dry and wet conditions. They were very communicative to the driver when nearing handling limits. Compared to other summer tires, they also seemed to retain their performance at lower temperatures much better than I was expecting undoubtedly due to the soft tread compound.
