Tires are designed specifically for different vehicles and wheel sizes. Tell us about your vehicle or the specific size you want so we can help find the right tires for you.

The Energy Saver A/S is Michelin North America's most fuel-efficient All-Season Passenger car tire developed for the drivers of hybrid and fuel-efficient passenger cars that want to exploit their vehicle's fuel economy without abandoning dry, wet and wintertime traction. Representing the forefront of Michelin Green X technology, Energy Saver A/S tires can enhance vehicle operating efficiency and environmental impact by reducing fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions while delivering year-round traction, even in light snow.

Expanding on the technologies of the Michelin Energy Saver summer tires introduced in Europe during 2007, the Energy Saver A/S All-Season Passenger car tire introduced in North America during 2009 offers exceptionally low rolling resistance at or below the levels offered by its European summer tire counterpart.

The Energy Saver A/S features Michelin's EnergySaver Construction combined with a unique silica-based tread rubber that helps improve engine fuel efficiency by keeping the tire cooler. This compound is molded into a symmetric design that features siped, independent tread blocks to combine predictable handling, no compromise stopping performance and all-season traction without trading fuel efficiency. Circumferential and lateral grooves direct water through the tread design to help resist hydroplaning and enhance wet traction.

Michelin Comfort Control Technology uses computer-optimized design and precision manufacturing to reduce vibrations and road noise to keep the vehicle quiet. The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by spirally wrapped polyamide on top of a polyester cord casing to combine strength, efficiency and comfort.

*Specific sizes featuring Green X technology are identified as such on the Sizes tab, as well as on the tire's Specs tab.

Can eco-friendly, low rolling resistance tires make a difference in fuel economy, driving costs and the environment?

Tire Rack arranged to get a small fleet of the 2009 2nd generation Toyota Prius hybrids to test low rolling resistance tires. The Goodyear Integrity O.E. tire was the baseline we compared to other tire choices for the Prius. Tires tested included eco-friendly aftermarket tires for hybrid and fuel-efficient compact cars as well as the Goodyear Assurance ComforTred which prioritizes ride comfort and long wear over fuel efficiency.

fantastic tires, they were stock on our nissan leaf sv plus. After 3-1/2 years we have 55000 miles on them. All this time never an issue on wet road or even light snow with ice. I am getting another set of these tires because they are excellent and lasted for so long. The ev range with them is spot on 220 miles on full charge as it is supposed to be.

...At 72,000 the original OEM tires were 10 years old and although there was lots of tread left, the rubber was getting hard at which time the car would slightly slide the rear end on dry pavement when accelerating and turning at the same time... These tires provide a smooth ride, very good high speed corning and breaking traction and good gas mileage (28-30 mpg at 80mph / 24-26 in town)...

This tire is the 2nd set of OEM tires on my 6 speed automatic 2012 Mustang V6. At 72,000 the original OEM tires were 10 years old and although there was lots of tread left, the rubber was getting hard at which time the car would slightly slide the rear end on dry pavement when accelerating and turning at the same time. Because this tire was OEM (Original Equipment from the Manufacture) ( I'm sure they tested many types before equipping Mustangs with this tire) and because I had put on over 70,000 trouble free fun miles on them without any problems, I felt there was no need for me to experiment by purchasing a different brand. These tires provide a smooth ride, very good high speed corning and breaking traction and good gas mileage (28-30 mpg at 80mph / 24-26 in town). I check the inflation (36lbs.) once every two weeks using a calibrated air gauge.

When driving in the country the car is very predictable. If I make a fast turn the tries tires stick. Ninety percent of my driving is around town the other ten percent is on the highway. I am very pleased with these tires. Every time I drive I am trusting my life to these tires.

...these tires have lasted well over what anyone could fathom and have done pretty well in the category of traction (wet and dry) when you take into consideration the amount of torque you see from EVs...

A lot, and I mean a lot of people dislike these tires on their Chevy Bolt. Nearly every review I've read bash this tire's traction and wear. Whelp, I'm here to be in the minority and say that these tires have lasted well over what anyone could fathom and have done pretty well in the category of traction (wet and dry) when you take into consideration the amount of torque you see from EVs. I have over 55,000 miles on these, I'm a little ashamed of myself to say this, but I've never rotated the tires either. I bought the car new, with 8 miles on it, and no one has driven the car but me. I drive it like it's a go kart with full pedal acceleration in most cases. I don't baby the car or the tires, or the brakes... I don't know how I'm getting the miles I'm getting out of these, but zero complaints here in these tires. I'm doing some tire research because I'm thinking I'll need tires in about 3 months or so, and it's honestly going to be a tough choice to go to another brand/tire given these have been so good to me.

...From a dry traction standpoint, these are not sticky sporty tires, it's easy to chirp them or make them scream in a corner, but the grip is progressive and it is easy to predict when the grip will run out...

I just purchased this 09 Civic Si as a multi use car, daily driver, winter beater and summer autocross racer. I was excited to see the top of the line Michelin Energy Saver tires as I put many highway miles on the car. I didn't intend on driving them in deep snow but haven't yet sourced snow tires for the car and I'll say, these Energy Saver tires are surprisingly capable in the snow! Just as good as any all season tire I've used and about as good as a set of year old Blizzaks. Not as good as say a set of Sumitomo winter tires but still they took me through a foot of fresh fluffy snow and slushy areas. From a dry traction standpoint, these are not sticky sporty tires, it's easy to chirp them or make them scream in a corner, but the grip is progressive and it is easy to predict when the grip will run out. I would definitely recommend these tires, if I could get them in a size that fit my 99 BMW M3, I would as a summer driving tire.

...Since 2012 the Mustangs ride, handling and comfort have been excellent, making driving the car a lot of fun.

This review is for New - Michelin Energy Saver A/S tires - installed on a 2012 - 305 HP V6 Mustang.

When I purchased my 2012 Mustang, Michelin Energy Saver A/S tires came with the car as OEM by Ford.
Since 2012 the Mustangs ride, handling and comfort have been excellent, making driving the car a lot of fun. Steering was spot on and predicable. In 2023 the tires were 11 years old with tread still left but due to their age I decided to purchase new ones.

During my decision to purchase new tires I read a lot of reviews on Tire Rack.
After a lengthy period of time, researching tires, I decided that because the Original Michelin Energy Saver A/S tires were so good and I was very satisfied I saw no reason to try an other brand. If I had tried an other brand of tire and I did not like them, I would be stuck with a tire that I would not be happy with.

The new Michelin tires are great in the summer with a predictable limits when cornering at high speeds or braking.
I have never driven the car in snow and just a few times in wet weather where the tire traction was good.
I have a Volvo for winter driving also equipped with Michelin tires.

I would like to add that I have owned over 11 makes of cars and have been driving for 58 years.
The great ones were Lotus, Cougar and Firebird. Others were Volvo, Spitfire, T-Bird, and with every car experience
came trying a great number of tire brands and in thousands of driving conditions and situations.

...Handling, comfort and road noise is all good as well...

These are the best set of tires I've ever owned on a vehicle. They currently have 50,000 miles on them and still have a decent amount of life left. I get them rotated every other oil change which helps, but these have lasted a lot longer than any other tire I've had. Handling, comfort and road noise is all good as well. Highly recommend this tire!

...I've got 61k miles on them and will probably last 2 k more ...

Very good tire overall. They are definitely a low rolling resistance tire as advertised. I've got 61k miles on them and will probably last 2 k more . The tires before this got approx 4 mpg less so I can vouch for the green approval for these Michelins . Would recommend these for anyone wanting higher gas mileage . They are now more expensive than what I had paid for in the past . May look at the Toyo Proxes again as they were great OEM tires for this car and are less expensive.

...When it started to snow my opinion on the tires dropped drastically. 8" of powdery snow it handled with some slippage on accelerating but braking and cornering handled as expected. As soon as it started melting, the slush was very dangerous to drive in...

A common theme with Chevy Bolts on the factory tire. The tire is great for efficiency and decent on dry roads. The dealership had replaced the tires to resell it so they were brand new. Rain was fine, not the best traction but not the worst I've experienced.

When it started to snow my opinion on the tires dropped drastically. 8" of powdery snow it handled with some slippage on accelerating but braking and cornering handled as expected. As soon as it started melting, the slush was very dangerous to drive in. The worst single incident: driving 15 mph on a slight downhill with 1/2" of slush. Even slight braking was locking up all 4 wheels and slid 50 feet to a stop sign. At this same stop sign with traction control on, I was unable to move from a stop. Turned off traction control and maintained gentle throttle until the wheels could clear the slush to get a tiny bit of traction to get moving again.

I replaced with crossclimate2s and I have not had to worry anymore. The 15% range loss is worth the safety.
